    Very helpful, thank you. I just wandered how you would know if your child has a lower IQ that would put them in the category of learning disability or is it only through NDAS. Xx

    • @thepines-highland
      @thepines-highland ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not common practise to test Childrens IQ in Highland however if a child is slightly behind peers in terms of academic achievement and life skills we would potentially put that down to a learning difficulty possibly associated with a Neurodevelopmental condition such as ADHD making it difficult for them to concentrate , if they were moderately behind peers health professionals may refer to that child have a “ Global Development delay” and if the were significantly behind and in need of specialist education and support we would then consider them to have a Learning Disability. However these are very broad categories and each child is unique with their own strengths and pressures

    I’m assuming there is a particular age when children are allowed to live in imaginary realm eg tooth fairy IS very much real in their world and that’s ok

    • @thepines-highland
      @thepines-highland 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay but here is a reply from the Pines: Yes of course it is fine to believe in fairies! The problem with the girl in this example was that her school pals were making fun of her and challenging her on her belief so her mum wanted to explain things correctly to her so she understood the difference between Fact and Fiction.

    Really pleased to see how play can be used to transform the lives on children on the autism spectrum. Play offers a medium to connect minds and think in new and more flexible ways, to communicate and build understanding of others. Thank you for sharing this important aspect of learning and development.
