Ford was bestseller back in 2000s here in Central Europe - outselling every Asian and American brand! They got it right, understanded what customer actually wants

Yeah, I've owned one for 3 years and my biggest gripe is the door check straps not having defined positions to hold door open. If you're parked on a hill or kerb and you're trying to get out of the car with your hands full of bags etc the door constantly closes on you! Have seen a few cars with cracked side windows and i reckon that's from the door closing on you hitting your shoulder and cracking glass! I also find the mirrors are positioned too high blocking your view round tight bends going up a hill! I have no issues with buttons however. You may find previous owner spilt a soft drink from cup holder down your stereo! Apart from these minor gripes i still love the c6❤ in a sea of German executives it's a breath of fresh air and i love the rarity 😊

I disagree about Ford. Ford are an international brand that happens to have originated in the U.S. Their first overseas factory opened in Ireland in 1917. Within a decade they had factories all over the world. That means that since the very advent of motoring, Ford has had a presence around the world. Most people in Europe do not see them in the same light as Chrysler, Chevrolet, Cadillac etc. They have been part of European motoring since the very beginning, long before Ford Europe was formed. Also, the Renault Espace showed Europe minivans aren’t boring long before Ford got in on the act.

To say that none of the Chevrolet products were designed / developed specifically for Europe is not true. The Kalos was originally planned for Europe only, under the Daewoo project code S100, with assembly initially planned for the ZAZ plant in Ukraine, effectively replacing the ZAZ Tavrija with a modern 5dr hatchback that could sell in Western Europe as well as the CIS countries that the Tavrija was selling in. The project was later expanded to include the 4dr sedan, and at that point North America and Korea were added to the plan, Korean production added, and the project was recoded to T200 to reflect its intention to replace the Lanos in Korea. The European focus was so strong, the vehicle was package protected for Renault's then-unreleased K9k 1.5 turbodiesel engine.

Chrysler sold it's european branch to Peugeot around 1979, so part of that info is inaccurate: 1980s Talbot/Simca were fully taken by Peugeot until Peugeot finally killed it in 1987 or so. Also, Ford is actually not doing brilliant these days in Europe. Sure the Kuga is selling well but... What else? They killed the Fiesta, having only the derived Puma crossover in the B-segment, they're about to kill the Focus, they have no D-segment representative like the Mondeo was, and the electrics range are random boring uninteresting VWs reskined that no one is really paying attention to. Even in South America where Ford used to be one of the big 4... For instance in Brazil, from one day to another, they simply did shut down all factories and retired from the direct sales, having only imports.

hi thank you all SO MUCH for the amazing amount of support on this video, I wasn’t expecting it to gain this much traction. I really appreciate everyone’s support and advice <3 as you might know, I’m currently on hiatus. the water pipe is fixed, the pulleys have been replaced, and the blinkers have also been sorted out. C6 is alive and kicking, I even took it on a roadtrip not too long ago. once I emerge from my hiatus, there will be an update. thank you again for all your support <3!

well if your talking about compact and midsize American cars they are bigger and heavier than their European equivalents take a 1974 Opel GT 162 in and a 1974 Oldsmobile 88 the former is a compact car 162 in long or 13.5 ft while the later is a full size car 227 in or 18.92 ft long and also the Opel is roughly 1/2 the weight of the Oldsmobile the Olds weighing 4,510 pounds and the Opel weighing 2,200 LBs similar to a Toyota Celica MK1

Too big, too thirsty, unreliable, poorly made, interiors like a chocolate tray in quality, poor dynamics, out-handled by its European competition and the small ones were badge engineered Italian (in UK) or Korean product. Plus GM already had Opel that were far superior and Chryslers were based on old Mercedes. In all, out of date and out of step with the needs of the European consumer.

Not only is the EQS very ugly, the whole eq line up is poorly designed. And they ruin step by step also all mercedes cars with combustion engine. Its chief designer GORDEN WAGENER who is behind all this. They should have fired him years ago. Now its almost too late - Mercedes sales are dropping massively. And its clear why: Gorden Wagener!

I think that the biggest crime of any manufacturer was done by Dodge with the new Charger. They clearly advertise the electric model as a priority. In the end, would they really need to ditch the V8 at all?

Ensure to replace the one coolant duct that corrodes and explodes (6466HA), leaving the engine in seconds without coolant enough and killing it quickly, change/renew the automatic transmission oil (there aren't eternal oils, they dont exist), and renew the suspension cilinders (especially the front ones, where most of the weight is). Suspension cilinders on the first C6ses (2005-2007) are known to collapse in all of a sudden. If you are driving fast, this is dangerous; if not, a transmission axle can be forced out of the gearbox and empty the gearbox of its oil pretty quickly, aka destroys it. The V6 diesel engines are delicate. Don't change oil later than 1 year or 10.000 km. Don't use too thin oil unless tempereatures are in average below 5°C. The C6 can be very reliable BUT only if you attack its weak points actively before they happen AND if your mechanic is a very professional, patient and intelectually hard working person open to learn.

I can confirm as a Macedonian that Chevys did sell well here, and that we also used Chrysler Stratus' as police vehicles. Chevys Sparks currently are our regular patrol vehicles in the police, while all the Stratus' were scrapped because they broke down more than they served. There's one that was bought by someone from the police and its sitting abandoned with a flat tire and cobwebs inside. Genuine turds of cars, main reason you don't seem them on the road anymore

    • @BillLaBrie

grew up with mercedes cars but over last few years the brand has lost its cool and strong feel so many different amg models that the 63 ones don't feel special plus thier designs of jelly bean cars look so same to other brands if you removed the badges normal people would think it's a hyundai or something and then interiors is just so dumb with all screens speaks of cost cutting rather than cool or quality and the final thing their cars have become so expensive yet things that were standard 5-10 years ago like electrictonic adjust seats are now all options so it makes the prices on them even worse this is all besides the ev problems

And having owned and loved a lot of German cars I was looking at Mercedes, but I just can’t buy one, the EQE and EQS are just too fuckin ugly.
