In a wild feat of preservation and emulation, I am able to run Puyo Puyo Fever for PalmOS on PC using the Sony Clie 5.0 emulator on archive.org Note that this emulator does not contain the sound libraries needed for Puyo Puyo Fever. @@raypuiaascii4653 more like a PS1-ifed version of RR PSP but still a great effort, I don't think most racing Java games comes close to this really especially with that 60FPS framerate
@@CPS42069 Docomo Java games were a decade beyond what western phones were able to do. Mostly because by 2005, a pretty amount of them started to ship OpenGL with them. There's a Gundam game for those devices that looks VERY closer to Gundam FvsZ on Dreamcast.

Hard to believe a game like this was released on a flip phone in 2007. Definitely an upgrade from games like Tower Bloxx and Sims pixel games we were given in the west, even if the controls may be a little wonky. Thank you for showing this ^^

Crazy to see that Konami actually went back to doing first person Labyrinth stuff after abandoning the concept after going heavy with it on Famicom
Many Japanese publishers, including Konami, released some wild games for mobile phones. I think that, because the format was all digital and they didn't need to pay production fees, it was easier for them to take risks.

Hello. One of the things I remembered for i-mode games there were was "Nyanko Daisensou" (Basically, The Battle Cats, the original Flip Phone version) and "Kumanchu Royale" (the sequel to The Battle Cats). Is it possible that you can preserve them. If it's impossible, thanks anyway
Thanks for reaching out! It all depends on whether someone has a copy of the game still on their phone or if we discover it in auction lots. It is difficult to find specific games in auction lots though. Another option would be to post a bounty.
Can you dump out the jar file of the game? I found the first version on the sharp gx30 but i have yet not found anything ever on the internet about this sole game. Thank you in advance

Tobal M came pre-installed on the NEC N-01A and N-02A. If you have a way of importing one of those phone models from Japan, you will very likely be able to play the game. Many phones have their data cleared before sale, but pre-installed games are usually left intact :) Unfortunately I cannot show more because the emulator cannot handle the game, and this is currently the only emulator that can run the correct version of J2ME for the game (the game was programmed for Star, a later evolved version of DoJa)

Love your channel! you do good work! have a bit of a request, theres some old Shin Megami Tensei games for old mobile phones in japan that are lost media.
I don't currently gave any Shin Megami games in possession, but a number of those mobile games have been re-released by G-mode for Japanese Nintendo eShop and Steam. There are some folks with Megami Tensei games in private possession, they have a few short videos on Twitter :)
