@@CaptainCrunch99 I actually don’t use the d-wheel any more - I put a sparco p310 on that button box for v8 Supercar racing, and that has been my main wheel for the past couple of years (seen in most of my videos nowadays)… another reason to do an updated rig tour… it’s the spaghetti that holds me back, a mission to redo all the tangled wiring & I keep procrastinating as a result…

Cheers for doing the time stamps buddy… as always I hope the video wasn’t too long winded (yes I mention comp damping several times explaining the same thing), but I probably could have done another 30mins on this video & still not explain it all (or understand it all myself)…

@@CowyYourAverageSimRacer I always struggle with V8s let alone their setups. So I tried to thank you with my timestamps and descriptions. Also, nothing wrong with long videos. Timestamps can help viewers when reviewing. Something to consider.

That’s what I was trying to achieve… not just here’s the setup, but trying to arm you so u can tweak your own setups

This was done in the fixed setup series running at the time - so couldn’t take out any wing like we normally do for conrod…

@@TOKOLOSH3 cheers man, Tuesday nights SRW runs a proam/am league - that’s the one I race in. welcome to new drivers, I think u need a D licence though. They run an open Sunday nice v8 league as well, but plenty of pros join that one and some are really fast…

Driving style is always a factor, smoother inputs are generally better for tire wear over a race. I find during a race I’m moving my brake bias forward as fuel comes out of the car (as the rear gets light it’s easier to lock rear brakes). Also I will soften front bars to give me turn in as the fronts wear, same if the rear starts stepping out mid stint. As for garage setup changes, generally u want the ride softer when the track is hot, stiffer when it’s cooler - I normally start with the bias & roll bars, if it needs more then I’ll look at suspension changes. But key is understanding, knowing it’s not u overdriving the car…

@@WreckageMG never went anywhere lol… been having some upload issues with my IP… most of my setups are old, tweaked ones - some from VRS, some from friends. I’m starting to understand my own driving style, tuning the setup to suit my driving. Every setup needs tweaking to personalize it for your own style…

@@WreckageMG it takes time to understand - I always found the difficulty is knowing if it’s the car not doing what u need or if u are over driving the car…. My advise is to start simple with roll bars & brake bias, change one thing at a time & try it out.

I would have to have a look at my setup to tell you the ratio - I do know I’m running a lower wing generally at this track (around 17-18) and that can make the car floaty in the rear too. If u are snaking in the braking zone move your brake bias forward - as fuel comes out of the car u will need to move it further forward (positive) as weight comes out of the rear of the car to prevent rear locking & that snaking :-)

I do have a couple of Bathurst track guides out there already, as for how to drive the V8, it’s all about throttle control & trail braking. Focus on getting a good exit - if u need to slow the car up more to get it to turn do so, try to get a smooth & straight exit so u can get on the gas. I should look at doing a V8 Supercar driving tutorial - it’s probably the hardest car to drive fast in iRacing, but very rewarding when u get up to speed.

@@WreckageMG iRacing is an expensive beast, v8s & most of the great tracks are not included in the initial subscription. So u end up having to buy them as additional content. I know I have spent well over $1500 AUD on subscription & content to get what I have now (own most of the road tracks now). But even though u can test drive them once u own then, u will need to progress through the license system up to C-class to race the V8s in the officials - some leagues allow rookies to race, but most have at least a D-class minimum. The main racing league i race in is simracingworld.com.au - follow the links there to the discord channel & ask to join - our Tuesday night racing is for the am & proam racers, Sundays are pro & proam - so u can race both nights as a proam (my level) - yes there are guys way quicker than me in iRacing, so don’t expect to win out of the gate :-)

@@CowyYourAverageSimRacer Thanks mate once I get to c class and buy Bathurst and a V8 can I just practise on my own as much as I want instead of racing ? Is it pretty cheap if I just want one car and that track?

@@WreckageMG it’s around $15-20 USD per car & track so not that much if u are sticking to 1 car & track. Most of my expense is tracks, as I mostly only drive the Supercar in iRacing myself. U don’t need C-class to own the car & track - u can buy them straight away & use test drive or hosted rooms to practice - u will need c-class to race officials and some leagues, but always see a hosted Bathurst session up most days so u can join those boys for a practice or race when the sessions are up :-)

I have raced v8 Supercars in iRacing and Assetto corsa - iRacing is next level to me, don’t get me wrong I still love AC, but it’s my cruising sim - iRacing is my serious one, the one I race on… :-)

Yea it surprised me a bit, the fact that the track offered up such great racing last week… didn’t think it was going to be a track that promoted great racing, but it did!

Hopefully very soon - work has been going on behind the scenes I hear, and Supercars Australia themselves are keen for iRacing to get them out asap…

Cheers cowy,watched a couple but doesn't really show or tell you the best ways,love the v8's just have problems with the starts and that's how I lose alot of places,anyway keep doing what you do and I keep watching
