Funny how things are, I've just gotten back to the game last patch XD. I quit both games some months ago, but was still following genshin's story cause, just like you, I feel like I invested a lot ot time into it and wanna see how it ends, but actually playing it? I just don't feel like I have the energy to do it, kinda similar to how you feel with HSR. When I tried getting back to GI I just couldn't, it was overwhelming and tiring, I feel star rail did a better job at welcoming me back and I've been having a blast. Sorry for the upcoming rambling, but after the video I felt like sharing my thoughts on the game as well so... The one thing I will completly agree with you is on character designs, overall I like them, but those outfits, man... the famale characters have it rought! But about the story? I just finished Penacony and it's honestly a masterpieace, I get what you said about the main goal thing, but I much prefer HSR aproach to it with the goal being the exploration of the cosmos itself (the whole philosophy of trailblazing and of the other paths is fascinating to me) with the underlying mysteries that revolve around the characters being slowly brought to focus, I feel it opens the door to a lot of different stories to be told on each planet and it makes so the more lighthearted tone of the trailblazer doesn't feel out of place (As much I like the premise of Genshin it feels dragged out, most people just forget the main focus of looking for the sibling after some time since the travaller is doing everyhting except for that 90% of the time). Being able to see the timeline of the stroy was a god sent when I came back, as was being able to play past events (I will never be on board with limited time story events ever). Exploration feels less taxing on HSR and even tho to some that means less content, I can't spend that much time on exploration unless I want my grades at uni to drop to dangerous levels so it's a plus for me and as for the difffulty in character building? I feel you honestly (although I don't agree with most of your points, end game does demand you build a lot of characters and if you're f2p you need to be VERY careful with where you put your resources)... But that makes the game more fun for me! I can't clear all end game yet, but that motivates me to think what steps should I take to be able to do it, what should I farm? What characters would I need to up my teams to the next level? As much as I like some characters I won't pull for them because they don't fit the play style of the teams I'm building and making my account stronger is my main goal, I get that this is a downside to some, but I like that the game forces me to make hard choices in order to beat hard content. At the end of the day, It's just more my type of game, so even tho I had a lot of fun exploring genshin's world, combat and story at the start it couldn't keep me invested for that long while star rail did, I ended up having to quit for life reasons, but I'm happy to be back at it while I don't think I will come back to playing genshin again. Now, I know a lot of people is harsh on anyone that preffers genshin over star rail, but at the end of the day it's a metter of preference, they are very different games so of course genshin will satisfy some more then star rail no metter how much people argue that star rail is doing most things better, and that's normal. There's no need to force yourself to play a game when you are not having fun, if the game isn't doing it for you it just isn't, even if a mojority of people don't share in that experience it's YOUR experience and your decisions should be made based on it. I have e2s1 acheron/bs/kafka/firefly and even I'm considering quitting. Relic rng had me considering it, Origami birds rng added fuel to it, Divergent Universe rng has damn cemented it. Currently there's no enjoyable content, combine that with a terribly executed story in penachony along with a ton of nobody characters and the amazing lack of cut scenes in favor of just still frames or pedantic, repetitive droning.

You saying: "I have X number characters well built". Well you dont, builds on you DPS-characters is legit below avarage or completly dogsh*t (no offensive). Kafka sitting on 3.6k Attack with her Sig LC? Below avarage. Jingliu with her Sig LC sitting on 160 CD? Legit dogsh*t. Idk what are you yapping about, but my e0s1 Jingliu still clear everything what she ment to (AS/MoC), and my e0s1 Kafka-e0s1 BS duo also clear everything (AS/MoC/PF). You saying: "Well im gonna take Jingliu only against Ice weakness, because its not efficient/not ideal, i'd rather use another character". Well you better do, because ur e1s1 Jingliu have a completely dogsh*t build. I took my Jingliu comp (e0s1 Jingliu, e1s1 Bronya, e4s3 Resolution Pela and e0s1 FuXuan) against Gepard-boss current MoC 11 (40% ice res btw) and still able to 3 star that floor having 2 cycles left at the end. So, is that really a character problem, or its a player problem? So at current stage of the game i have: e0s1 Kafka (got her on rerun), e0s1 Black Swan, e0s1 Jingliu (got her on rerun), e1s1 Ruan Mei(got her on rerun for DoT team), e0s1 FuXuan (got her on rerun). And thats all my limited characters/lightcones. As for 5* standart characters/lightcones: - Acitvly using: e1s1 Bronya - actively using in Jingliu team. e0s2 Himeko - cleared current PF with her and gonna keep actively use her in PF. Got her that Monday from 300 pulls selector and her sig LCs from a standart banner (actually i have 3 of them the 3rd on Herta and yes all from standart). Prev 4 PFs until current were already cleared for 12/12 even w/o Himeko but with her its gonna be easier/comfier. - Barely using/not using at all: e1s0 Clara - barely using her, e0s0 Ratio - barely using him, e1 Yanqing - not using at all, e0 Bailu - not using at all. - A bunch of 4*, the most usable for me: e4 Pela, e2 Tingyun, e6 Herta, e6 Lynx, e4 Gallagher. Thats a 12 characters overall, 8 five star and 4 four star LCs (2 four star LCs are free - 1st from HuoHuo event on Lynx and 2nd QPQ from MoC shop on Gallagher) overall in constant usage. Thats enough to clear all current content (MoC 36/36, PF 12/12, AS 12/12, SU and DU). And keep in mind, i didn't pull for Acheron and/or Firefly cause i dont click with both of them - its still enough for a waifu player like me to beat all content. Playing since 9th December 2024, always buying Supply Pass for all period of time and bought 3 Battle Passes on start of the game for resources to make starting progression comfier. So not like i spent huge amount of money on the game either. 26 min in, and when i heard: "HSR - dont have direct story, and Genshin - have" im done. HSR story is - help other ppl to deal with Stellarons and beat the crap out of Nanook (Eon of Destruction) at the end. Story wise - HSR better than Genshin, because Genshin have too kid-oriented story imo. Now "Im out for good". P.s. Sorry for huge wall of text🙃 and dont get my text in offensive way, i wish you the best. If you dont like something - there is no reason to torture yourself.

😂you lost me at glazing genshin, I didn’t move past there because I generally disagree with anyone that say genshin does anything better than star rail; not story, not character design nor character development- star is just better in all aspects. Their game play style is different so that’s hard to compare

I started getting stuck MoC 34/36 stars after I lost Black Swan's (first release) 50/50. And I stopped until penacony's release. Now, Superbreak meta help me barely clear apocalyptic S4, PF was kinda fine. MoC 12 still shitting on me cuz I don't have the right character for team 2 :(

So I came into this video moreso intrigued in how you'd come to approach the story segments between both and if they added to your feelings. Perspective in my opinion is good! Just as you finished Star Rail here with a break, I've wound up quitting Genshin myself about 2 months back since I was frankly exhausted of how overly safe they play Genshin's story in my opinion. I'm intrigued in what we mirror in terms of thought, then proceed to have entirely dif opinions on. That term of direction is strange because I get it's like I feel it except in reverse? In the search for the Traveler's sibling, it's primarily been built of altruism and a good rapport of characters liking you, when character relationships in this game feel very sanitized. (It's weird to say, but the over abundance of adventures feel too happy go lucky, like we're enjoying parties more than building genuine bonds. Like we can't deal with the struggles of the land together, making it better.) Either in their behavior (for selling purposes), or just having to inherently like the Traveler and not even solely in the handle business sense. I experience one bond in this game, and I genuinely feel like I experience them all, with the experience I'll just see their woes with a touch of difference. The Traveler themselves as a character don't adjust this 'find the seven' quest any even after five times, there's next to no genuine progress made, sans Nahida actually offering perspective. The Dainsleif question long since showed that pursuing time with them will get them what they want. Outside of that, it feels like you're just too much of that 'free help'. As for the 'direction' Star Rail has? From the MC perspective, the core goal at the end of it all is defeating Nanook and being a key player in executing that. That was the drawn task we still need to see more details to flesh out, I say it'll come in due time. Also quick note for the drip marketing bit, cause I find it ironic but what you noted between Firefly/Furina as an example DID have that. Moreso it'd be the view of the newly held Vision that's settled upon Furina's belt, which should be a dead giveaway at least to me if you were actively running during the Fontaine story quest, on top of her behavior since we've seen that Archons never have reservations about actively using advanced forms of their power. So I can't give that the full sale. Though, what I would like to bring attention too is how the death usage in plots CAN use some improvements, since I sincerely doubt in both titles they'd genuinely intent to kill off any playables. So it'd require a different approach altogether. As for the gameplay/game functionality/artifact bits. I respect your opinion! It all genuinely comes down to personal taste I say, so it's good to see you're finding stuff you enjoy further in order titles. I think having focus like that is GOOD vs say devoting to all of them and risking better chances of burn out. I wish you the best out here!

I stopped right after the phantylia fight myself when it was released, in the past week I've been playing catch up. I just did the Ather wars event then as I was just starting Panecony finally I was doing that lame streamer event in between things in main quest. Not a fan of Huohuo and that streamer chick, too many events to catch up on but its not a bad thing that they arnt timed so I can get many crystals for summons later but skipped a lot of talking in the side events to the best of my abilities.

No way in hell I am watching a two-hour opinion video. Going off the title alone, there are plenty of other games; if you are only into gachas, try ZZZ.

I ran into the character count in my description but there is still stuff I want to say (I should have just made a Part 2 video). This doesn't really have anything to do with Star Rail, but it's worth mentioning because I always like mentioning this stuff for future reference. And that is that this video was my second video edited with DaVinci Resolve! And as you can see, the video quality looks quite good. That being said, the video was not recorded in 60fps, so don't be fooled by what TH-cam is telling you it is (the video file was set at 60fps). The editing itself was fine. I learned a few things like how to put letters on the screen, as well as overlaying images. The letters on the video is something I did in iMovies and most notable in my Octopath Traveler videos (the original play though that never got finished...). I've never had the ability to overlay images in the video with iMovies and QuickTime Player (APPLE!?!?!?!), so this is a very exciting feature for me. And of course, being about to pump out 1440p videos is fantastic. They look better than my MacBook screen recordings, which might have to do with what TH-cam likes to receive as video formats. In terms of the uploading and exporting, absolutely miserable. I get that it's a 2 hour long video at 4k 60fps (but not really 60fps), but 4 hour export + 5 hour TH-cam upload? I'm not sure what I can do do improve video exporting. Do I need a better CPU? Cooling? RAM?

Is marks the last Honkai Star Rail playthrough video I'll make. I have quit the game recently because I just have so many problems with the game.
