ASUS PG27UQ Watercooling in Timelapse (no more fan noise)
In this video I am going to show you how I water-cooled the FPGA on my ASUS PG27UQ monitor to get rid of the internal fans!
As a lot of my viewers complained about my videos being too long, I decided to do this guide in Timelapse; 5 hours of my work in less than 8 minutes!!!
All the credit goes to tzanetos.tech for his tutorial and page for making this mod possible. Visit his page and support him:

beautiful GPU man congratz
🤟
I received my 4080 super yesterday, I might get r7 7800x3d or 9800x3d, but for the gpu sag I didn't receive a bracket or anything and I don't want to snap anything so should I order one off of amazon (like those screw adjustment ones) also which motherboard should i get (x870e or b650)
Hey, sorry for the late reply, if you have the space for it (free PCI-E slots on MB) then go with something like this : a.co/d/ewDuAP1 You can even get ones that are adjustable (the ones that look like screws) as cheap as $5-10 from amazon. For the one that I have it has the hassle of removing the MB and installing some hardware on MB screws. As for the MB it depends on your application. What type of work do you do and what is the application, gaming editing or something else?
to slow cpu to utilize full potential of 4090
True, have switched to 13700k, still not the most powerful cpu but definitely unleashes more potential of the 4090.
Hey Mate - In terms of poweriing the board if I was to be powering 1 fan should the red/black from a single enxtension cable be enough to power it? I'm assuming given the main boards giving off 12v and the PWM board is powering a single fan rather than 2 this should work. Looking to do this on the 34" variant of the monitor that has 3 fans, the supplemntary ones are off to either side so I figure 3 x 1 channel PWM boards would be the easier in terms of cabling/probe placement.
Technically it should ok but I cant guarantee it. You can search for series and parallel connection online (current wise). With 2 or 3 wires you make sure you are supplying enough current to the board. To give you an example: Lets say that each red/black wire supplies 0.5A to each fan. If you use 2 or 3 then you can supply 1A/1.5A to the board. If you use only one of them then you are limiting the board to only 0.5A. Power=Current x voltage=0.5x12=6W MAX (1 wire) vs Power=Current x voltage=1.5x12=18W MAX (3 wires) Keep in mind that the board itself uses some power. Can you specify the specs on the fans? Max current and voltage?
Looking at my photos from the last time I took it apart it's the same Sunon fans in both the pg35vq and pg27uq
@@AbnormalFlame Then you should be fine, but again just to be on the safe side connect at least 2 red/black wires from Monitor's MB to the Fan Controller Board. Use these: a.co/d/een9j7O If you toast the Monitor MB you are in big trouble where the cables are like $10-12 from amazon!!! Please don't blame me if anything happens to the monitor MB :) By the way I have now switched to water-cooling the FPGA on the PG27UQ!!!
What's the difference between PPPoE and DHCP?
Hey, Completely different things: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a protocol that automatically assigns IPs to the clients. This is part of the any router/Modem. In terms of the WAN configuration DHCP means it will get External IP from the provider (ISP decides what External IP to give you). Static is when you have a static IP address from provider (for Bell you need to pay extra to get this). PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is and old protocol that Bell and some other ISPs use to send data (packets). That's all you need to know; that for Bell you need the PPPoE credentials.
I broke my pc truing to put the sag on 😅
Got 3 GB download upload and picked up the GT AXE 16000 thanks for the walkthrough
Hey, glad that the video helped; BTW that's a beast of a router!!! Are you using the 10gb LAN/WAN port as the WAN from Bell Modem (Gigahub)?
@@parhamsan I am just using the WAN at the moment connected to the bell 4000 main port you pointed out. would the 10 GB work? Sorry I know nothing about networking.
@@mcsun2628 As long you get the 3/3 speed on the ASUS router you should be good. However if you have a device with 10gb capability (PC with 10gb connection) then you probably want to consider using the 10gb Port on the ASUS Router as your Primary WAN Port (instead of the 2.5gb default one). See here: www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-gt-axe-16000-not-doing-10gbps-am-i-missing-something-here.85316/ If you don't have a device with 10gb capability then don't even bother changing the setting; 2.5gb is more than enough!!!
Hello. Is it possible to remove the second fan as well?
Hey, if you watercool the fpga you will not need any of the fans, if not you would need both fans, one to cool fpga and one to blow hot air from the bottom.
Great stuff! I'm planning on getting the 4070 Ti Super Gaming OC and wanted to have an idea on how the bracket is installed. Thanks!
Hey, thanks the comment, I also have the GIGABYTE RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC on my HTPC computer that doesn't need the bracket, but from what I see the installation of the bracket for the 4070 Ti Super should be very similar (if required)!
@@parhamsan Hey, yes it seems every card higher than 4070 Ti has the bracket. I ordered it and can't wait! Will check out your video again when installing it lol
@@imperatorromanorum3150 I see, that makes sense cuz the 4070 non Ti is so tiny that it doesn't need the Bracket. I'm always here to help if you need it!
I've thought a lot about removing the fan completely in favor of passive cooling solution. Just replace the heatsink with a bigger one, probably protruding beyond a shell. Do you think if it's possible?
Hey, I have played around with cooling the FPGA and from my experience you cannot get away with passive cooling unless you watercool the FPGA with a water block (believe it or not, this is currently what I am doing). th-cam.com/video/XxtmDyGQweE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QhETL0e7aythf389 Since there is a metal casing around the Monitor Mainboard and FPGA you just have an opening to a size of a fan, so even if you find a big heatsink you need to exhaust the hot air from the surroundings with a fan otherwise the heat is going to be trapped inside the monitor. You can give it a try but I have found with even lower RPM on the fans, the FPGA overheats and monitor turns off randomly. Good Luck with everything!
Nice video, i am looking to use the same setup when i receive my bell, dumb question do i need to use PPOE or automatic is fine ? what is the difference not too tech savy
Hey, thanks for the comment. If you don't use the PPPoE pass through on the Asus router, the asus router will not get an external Ip address, it will get an ip address from dhcp on Bell model (something in the range of 192.168.2.x). If you are not planning to use the DDNS on the Asus router or something like Aicloud, then it wouldn't matter and you can use auto on the asus. You can do some research regarding double NAT with Bell modem. With DDNS you will be able to access your local servers with ports forwarded on the Asus router externally with the free asus domain name; if this is too much information, disregard it 😊.
Its not a good idea to have kept plugging and unplugging the connector. One of the two problems they say (GN) people had were improperly plugging them in, but also people were panicking and overly checking them and they formed micro debris from the friction of pluging and unplugging to check too many times. This helped mess up the current imbalance. These things kind of have a limit to how many times they can perfectly plug in and out and theres layers to the materials that can erode from repeated use.
You are 100% right, but at the time of installation I had to make sure the 12VHPWR was properly plugged in. BTW I have changed my PS to a new one that comes with as single 12VHPWR cable; a game changes!
@@parhamsanhey parham. What PSU did you buy?
@@f.iph7291 hey, I bough the MSI MPG A1000G Power Supply and am pretty happy with it so far, no complaints!!!
@@parhamsantnx man. Here in iran only the mag variant is available and I'm not trusting that. Mpg is their flagship psu. Gotta go to the expensive rm-x lineup:/
@@f.iph7291 I see, you can go with any 850W to 1000W Corsair PSU and just buy their cable that converts 2 PCIE power to 12VHPWR cable. Make sure to buy a power supply that is compatible with taht cable: www.corsair.com/ca/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920284/600w-pcie-5-0-12vhpwr-type-4-psu-power-cable-cp-8920284 Otherwise you are going to end up with the same octopus mess!!!
will this help because my monitor turns off every 2hrs and idk what to do at this point been going on for like months now
For sure, monitor turning off is usually the main cause of FPGA overheating, have you ever cleaned the fans or change the Thermal paste on the FPGA since you owned the monitor? Or I may be wrong, and you might have a faulty board, but if the monitor works and shuts down after 2 hours it worth changing the paste! I bet it's completely dry!
Hey is glad for you, but I have to say that the video is a little late :( my monitor is dead does not give a sign of life, ... it is a shame because he is not found more and they do not repair it here in Germany .. I have tried in several stores but nothing .. They say it is very old and better to buy another one to repair it :(, I feel sad
Hey, thanks for the comment, unfortunately if there is something wrong with the MB (FPGA) of the monitor you can't fix it or find a replacement part. Other parts such as power supply, fans, and screen replaceable. what does the stores tell the issue is?
@@parhamsan Hello, they say that the MB is just broken. But of course I took it to a small store and I'm not very sure it's true... it's a shame since there is no other 4K HDR 1000 monitor in 27´´ It's a shame that Asus has done a bad job with the ventilation. Ps.: Thanks for asking..
@katanuso hey, sorry to hear that unfortunately I did not find the MB replacement anywhere (like ebay or AliExpress) but if you are willing to spend $150-200 USD, you can always send only the pcb to somewhere like NorthridgeFix northridgefix.com/ This guy can literally fix anything. Although in your case it would be hard to test the monitor if you don't ship the whole thing to them, and shipping cost would be to expensive!

Hi
Hi
I will buy it next week :=), btw i have a question, i read about a hidden service menu where you can change the fan speed, do you know how to access it? Best Regards
Hey, unfortunately I do not know, if you google it and don't get a result that means it won't be accessible by users, rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-series-monitors-pg-xg/asus-rog-pg27uq-how-to-access-service-menu/td-p/835109

Hey, yes I think since you were replying on someone else's comment it got deleted so what was your question?
@@parhamsan no i wrote a new comment on your video, i think it got deleted cause i post a link maybe?, i send you a upload link with the buyers monitor, wanted you to check the panel, if its ok and if you would buy it :=). Btw it comes without standoffs, he used it on a Vesamount without standoffs :=), i have no idea if i should do the same if i buy it Best regards
@@Tuskabanana Oh, IC, well I can't check the Panel for you if I am not there :), if you are buying the monitor in person then check for bad pixels and make sure all the accessories are there. As for the Vesa mount there are plenty of options to replace the standoffs so once you have the monitor I can guide you. To start with, the screws are probably type M4 (but again don't take my word on it) google is your friend!!! What I can tell is the standoff are 30mm long in total (10mm screw length, 20mm body length) and I saw tons of options on amazon with a similar standoff sizes, so you should be ok. Good luck with everything!!!
@@parhamsan ok thank you very much :=) yeah you are right with the screws, they are m4, i read it in the manual. So it is ok to use the vesa mount without standoffs at the start, until we find another solution. ah ok so i can buy other standoffs on amazon
btw can i send a amazon link, will it work :O? best regards
wow great work man, you actually love that monitor, you even changed the Panel :=). Best Regards
I certainly do! And I didn't wanted to spend another grand on a new monitor! 4k 144hz, hdr1000, what else do you need 😀

I agree with you but the price is also a couple of hundred dollars more, I don't think it would matter for many people on which one to pick, as the price of the 4090s are still pretty expensive!
I love you for the bracket part ❤❤❤

Hi, thanks a lot for the video was really helpful for ordering the right parts before opening ! I Just did the full repaste with controller but now the top 1/4 right part of the screen is darker as if the pixels where not turned at 100% brightness on this part anymore... By any chance, do you have a fix for this problem ? Thanks again in advance, have a great Day !
Hey, other people had a similar issue. If you haven't broken anything, it is most probably a loose connection. What I suggest is to take off the back shell, double check all the connectors specially the black ones. Connect the dp or hdmi and check for signal before reassembling. Was just having a conversation with someone else who had a black display. Will post my comments for you, here soon.
From my reply to the other user: specially check the connection of the cables that have tabs on them. There are 2 on the side and one on the bottom of the monitor refer to minute 3:20 and go forward. Also minute 7:38. Take the cables out and make sure they are pressed all the way in. This to meseems like a loose cable connection again. Let me know how it goes. Good luck with everything!!!

@FineMarise great, glad that the monitor is working again!
as far as monitor fan noise? never had that problem. if you're running a decent pc u wont even notice it. tbh iv never even thought about the monitors fan until this video
If you don't hear the monitor fan Revving up or being noisy, then you are a lucky and there is no need to modify it. A lot of PG27UQ owners, like me, have this issue so this guide was intended for them!
wow revving up seriously have not heard a thing@@parhamsan i cleaned the outside of it a lot though(?? who knows if that helped)
@@CoolCoyote you are a moron
have the same monitor and it just stopped working after a power cut was it a surge? probably was. but there is power running through it, but it stays black and doesnt turn on. i think it can be fixed quite easily .but need to get inside it. not breaking the plastic is my biggest fear.
Hey, if your monitor has a black screen after a power surge, you might have monitor with damaged main controller. If you have already disconnected the monitor from power or power cycled the monitor and still getting a black screen the issue is probably related to the power controller and the mainboard. You should be able to take the shell of and measure voltage on the PCB with the multimeter, that's what I suggest to diagnose the issue. Just go very slow with a shim or something to pry open the back; I know the first time I was opening the back shell was scary!!!
thx mate@@parhamsan
Thank you! amazing guide and very easy to understand. Thanks for your time to make this video, much appreciated!
Hey, thanks for the positive comment, glad that the video helped you!
Hello Parham, I recently purchased GT-AXE11000 and followed the steps in the ASUS website you showed. but when I apply those settings ( PPoE, bell logins) There was no internet in my router. Internet LED on router turned red. Did you do anything while setting up modem... The speed that showed on speed check on Asus router is accurate but i am getting just 500 mbps for my 3gbps package. I don't know what trick did you do.
Hey, didn't quite catch what you mean, so when you added the PPPoE credentials on the ASUS Router are you getting internet on your Asus router or not? With PPPoE passthrough you should be able to access your Bell Modem on 192.168.2.1. Do a speed test on the Bell HH4k/Gigahub and see the result are you getting the advertised speeds on both the Bell Modem and the ASUS Router? Obviously because of the 2.5gb WAN port of the ASUS Router you will not get anything higher than 2.2 Down/2.2 Up. One more thing, make sure to use the Black LAN of the Bell Modem to the 2.5gb WAN of the ASUS router. What is the computer that you are testing your speed? Does it have a 2.5gb NIC? With this configuration you are getting double NAT (meaning one external IP on Bell Modem, and one on the ASUS router). On the Dashboard of the ASUS router, do you see an the WAN IP (External IP address) that is different from Bell Modem? Make sure to set these values on the ASUS Router: AiProtection-->Enabled AiProtection OFF Game acceleration-->QoS-->Enable QoS OFF (Under Advanced Settings) Firewall--> Enable Firewall No So turn all of the AiProtection, QoS, and Firewall OFF After that restart the ASUS Router and let me know how it goes.
@@parhamsan first of all thank you so much for prompt and detail response…speed on modem and router asus dashboard speed in wired connection is as advertised.. but in wifi it’s it’s just around 600 mbps.. I know my devices are laptop which can handle only 1gbps, iPhone 12pro max, 14 iPhone pro max, 2023 iPad Pro 12.9 inch. . what I mean is when I chose, PPOE and bell login and apply that setting there was no internet connection in my router and switched back to previous settings, now when I check WAN connection type in app it shows DHCP.
@@GHUMGHAMCANADA Ok, I see now, that definitely means either one of your b1 username or password are not correct and you are not getting PPPoE passthrough on the ASUS router. May I know the format of the password you are using for the b1 bell username: The b1 username has a format of: b1xxxxxxxx and password is usually either given to you, or you can change your password on your Bell online account. It should be 8 character/number long (exactly 8 character long mix of alphabet and numbers). The b1 password is not the password you use to login to you Bell online account to see your bill and usage!!! You can change you password from this guide: support.bell.ca/internet/connection-help/connection-hub.how_to_update_my_bell_internet_user_id_and Nevertheless, is there any specific reason you want to PPPoE passthrough? If you are getting proper speeds on you Bell Modem and ASUS router (web gui) the it seems to me you are having wifi setting issues rather than LAN speed correct? So this is more likely wifi setting and tweaks. to give you an idea, I have recently switched to Bell 3/3gb plan and the max I can get sitting close to my GT-AX600 is around 1.4 Down/1.3 Up on wifi 6. 600mbps seems slow to me and something is going on. Are you devices connected to the ASUS wifi or the Bell wifi?
sorry the link I sent you seems to be old use this instruction to change your password for the b1 username: 1- Goto www.bell.ca/ on any browser 2- Click on login/register on the top right 3- Log in with your email and password 4- Click on the "My Profile" in the middle top of page 5- Click on "My Bell" 6- On the Left side, under "Service profiles" menu find and click on the "Internet-b1xxxxxx" BTW thats your b1 username that you can use for the PPPoE login on the ASUS router (it is case sensitive) 7- Find "Internet access password" and click on "Edit" next to it on the right side 8-Set your new password 9- Confirm your password 10- Note: Password Must have 6 to 8 characters, including at least one letter and one number. Sorry for the confusion, if you still cant change it let me know, have a good one!
@@parhamsan thank you so much, I just want my wifi speed to at least go up 1gbps.. currently I am just getting 500-600 mbps on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I believe if u went with thermal paste changing u wouldn't needed to install the fan controller
Hey, you might be right, but I wanted to have the flexibility of controlling the fan speeds and make the noise a little less. Obviously installing the fan controller is 100% optional.
it does need a modem to connect it?
Hey, it depends on your ISP, are you still talking about Bell as an ISP?
So the asus router ethernet output won't put out more then 1gb? I'll have to get that network switch to achieve 1.5gb? Or is it used for more then 4 ethernet ports to connect?
Correct, may I ask your ISP and the speed of your internet. Also how many devices are you planning to have 2.5gb connectivity? If you plan to have only 1 device then the ASUS GT-AX6000 has one 2.5gb WAN and one 2.5gb LAN and you are good. But if you have multiple devices with 2.5gb LANs then you need to buy a managed or unmanaged 2.5gb switch. Does this make sense?
@parhamsan makes sense thank you I'll need to have multiple devices that will use 2.5gb so I'll need a switcher
remove the plastic before installation dude 😅
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if I could get your help on something here. I followed the exact same procedure but upon reassembly, the screen on the monitor is totally blank. The fans are running, heat is being generated, the lights are lighting up, but the screen is blank. I don’t think I broke any cables. Any idea as to what I did wrong and how I can fix it?
Hey, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with blank screen. Do you get a OSD (on screen display) when pressing the joypad on the ASUS monitor? i.e. when you press it can you change anything on the menus like the refresh rate and other settings on the monitor? Do you see any menus? Since you are getting power to the monitor, this most likely a loose cable connection. specially check the connection of the cables that have tabs on them. There are 2 on the side and one on the bottom of the monitor refer to minute 3:20 and go forward. Also minute 7:38. Also try a different input, change from DP to HDMI and see if there are any changes. Take the cables out and make sure they are pressed all the way in. This to meseems like a loose cable connection again. Let me know how it goes. Good luck with everything!!!
Hello. Sorry for the late response. Yes, it was indeed a loose connection. It’s working now. Thank you so much for your help!
@@hvbam Cool, happy that it finally worked out!
What Dragonzombie said. You did it just the way I find myself doing it with questions and issues coming up and with you dealing with it in DETAIL. So many others just fly thru the presentations.
Hey, thanks for the comment. That was the whole point to be as detailed as possible!
Thank you! All the other videos were so fast I couldn't tell where the mounting bracket goes, your video was the only one that helped, thanks 🙏
I know some people were complaining that my videos are too long, but wanted to share my whole experience on installing this GPU, glad the video helped you!!!
Im with rogers. Have 1.5gb througg xb7 modem for cable. Will it work if i plug modem into 2.5gb port through bridge mode then plug my pc into the other 2.5gb port to receive my speeds? I dont know much about the internet stuff but i rather not purcahse this router if i wont be able to get the speeds.
Hey, yes it should work. In the case of rogers ISP you don't need to set any PPPoE credentials. What I suggest is to test the pc that has a 2.5gb nic with the rogers modem/router first to make sure it gives you speeds higher than 1gb. I don't have XB7 modem from rogers, but seems that the ethernet port number 4 is 2.5gb (orange bar beside it). If that's the case you put rogers modem into bridge mode, and connect from port 4 of rogers to the WAN port of the asus router. Then you should get 2.5gb on one port of the asus router. If you need more than one 2.5gb connections, then you need to buy a switch (managed or unmanaged) and connect the 2.5gb from asus to one of the 2.5gb ports on the switch. Then connect other PCs with 2.5gb lan to that switch. Check my other video, I am using a Mokerlink 2.5gb unmanaged switch and so far it has been solid! Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@parhamsan thank you appreciate it. Any software issues with this router? Updating fine etc? Bugs? Before I purchase
@@parhamsan I'm mostly getting this to see if it will help with buffer float for the QoS features and gaming features. recieve some packet burst in call of duty currently with just my gateway xb7 which I have tested and is currently receiving more then 1.5gb of download speed. @SassiTV No, I also have Gt-AX1100 as my second router in my main floor and I have to say i have 0 issues with the asus AX6000. The wifi range is crazy good and having 2.5gb wan and 2.5gb lan on the ax6000 is amazing. One thing that I don't recommend is the aimesh on the asus routers (if you have 2 of them). But if you only use ax6000 as your main router if should be fine. I am getting 4/5 bar for wifi from my basement to the top floor of my house. It's a good investment but I bought it when it went on sale for $299. There are also some settings you have to tweak to get higher than gigabit speed which I can help you with when you buy it. Good luck with everything!
@@parhamsan thank you! Very helpful. Gonna order it now. Will get back to you.
Hi are you still using this how is the wifi like and can you stop the RGB light from cycling thanks
Hello, yes I still have the router in my basement. It is probably one of the best routers that I owned. The wifi on both 2.4 and 5g are strong the range is crazy good! I live in a 2 story mid size house, and the signal strength from the basement to the top floor is 4/5 bars. And yes you can customize the rgb as you like rainbow/solid color or even completely turn it off from your asus router webpage.
Thanks a lot for the video. It helped a lot. The monitors fans were ramping up and down every 5 seconds which was a major annoyance. Changing up the thermal paste to some thermal grizzly kryonaut helped a lot!
Hey, glad that the video helped you! Yeah my monitor fans were doing the same thing and I know the feeling (the sound is supper annoying) and once I changed the thermal paste and added the fan controller, now the sound is barely audible!

I don't understand this, I can't hear my fan!!! Only thing i do is cleaning the inside every 2 year maybe. You should buy the new version PG27UQR. There is no fan anymore 🙂
Hey, you are a lucky lad, not everyone is having the same experience of having quiet fans. By the way, the monitor you suggested is very similar to pg27uq with updated io but not the same. The pg27uqr is hdr600 vs hdr1000 on pg27uq, thanks for the suggestion. it's a very tempting monitor!
@11:00 - is there any actual setting that needs to be configured in order to enable "PPPoE Passthrough", or is "PPPoE Passthrough" enabled by default? Your description seems to indicate that "PPPoE Passthrough" is enabled by default as long as no DMZ setting is set - is that correct? If not can you elaborate on how the "PPPoE Passthrough" needs to be configured?
Hey, on the Bell modem (HH4K) you don't need to do anything as long as you follow the settings I recommended @ 9:36. However if you go to 14:17 there is a setting on the ASUS router you need to change to enable the PPPoE under WAN->WAN Connection Type->change it to PPPoE. Keep in mind you would need your b1 Username and password from Bell. Do you know how to get the b1 username and password? With this setting you will get double NAT anyways (one on Bell Modem and one on ASUS Router) but you can defiantly access your public IP that the ASUS modem acquires with free DDNS service.
@@parhamsan: I actually do not have a HH4K yet but plan that I might be able to get service at my home next year so I'm learning ahead. I'm sure I'll be able to get my b1 credentials so that part should not be a problem. I (would) use my own custom home-built router (Linux box) which I currently use with a VDSL modem in bridge mode. I'm looking at a way to eventually swap the VDSL modem in bridge mode with the HH4K in "PPPoE Passthrough" mode so want to learn how that "PPPoE Passthrough" is configured - definitely looks like it is enabled by default on the HH4K...
@djsixottawa true, no need for additional changes on Bell Modem. Any router that has PPPoE as WAN connection would work. There is a way to completely remove the HH4000 but I have not tried it yet, good luck with everything!
@@parhamsan: nice - any chance you can try to remove the HH4K altogether and make a new video about it? otherwise any link to any 'howto' on how one bypasses the HH4K altogether? ( I've read about how this can be done by swapping the SFPs but that is only for HH3K, not HH4K which has its SFP integrated... )

Hey, sorry for the late reply, didn't quite catch what you are looking for. Are you looking for the original fan PNs to replace them or the fpga?
Just got he card - the RGB fans are the uggliest ever turned them off
True, turned them off the minute I installed the GPU, not a big fan of RGB on the fans specially. Had EVGA 30 series and the RGB on those GPUs where a lot more attractive; kind of here for the performance and not the esthetic. Congrats on the GPU anyways!!!
@@parhamsan Thanks! I watched a lot of reviews and it just surprised me no one bothered mentioning how bad the RGB. I dont really care either. I wish they atleast let you turn the fan RGB off while keeping the Front logo on but nothing is perfect.
The paste on top of an IHS is rarely the issue with a non intel/AMD chip. It’s usually the paste UNDER the IHS that results in dropped temperatures. You would need to delid with an oil spatula, apply fresh paste and relid with basic silicone.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion, have you done this on the exact same chip: the Altera Arria 10 GX 480 FPGA with?
Question for you, what is the bell username and password do i need , do you mean my bell online account or something has to be provided by bell?
Hey, no the username and password you use to login into your Bell account is different from your b1 username and password. The one you use to login to bell account, for example to see your bill is usually your email address and preferred password. The one you use for pppoe username, start with b1. You can call bell to get the username and password or you can simply get the username from your account and simply change the password for the b1 username. If you are interested I can show you how to do it.

Hey, I know, no shame in any cpu with this GPU, I am not sure but a 9700k might be a bottleneck for this GPU (maybe at 1080p) or I might be wrong. Lg c2 oled is very tempting but for now I don't want to spend another 2k for a new monitor as I already have the PG27UQ. Thanks for the comment, happy gaming!
@@parhamsan I've got an i9-9900k which isn't a world away from a 9700k and I got massive uplifts with a 4090 vs my 3090. and CPU utilisation actually went down with the 4090 even in games like Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. I was getting 85% CPU utilisation and now get around 50-60% with everything maxed. I'm sure there is situations at super high framerates where the CPU might bottle neck, but if you have a 120hz - 160hz g-sync/vrr monitor you are going to frame cap yourself at the max monitor refresh anyway. That said, I just got this card and its so quiet vs. my Zotac 3090 Trinity, even at 99% utilisation and just eats through anything you throw at it
@@RiGoRmOrTiSUK that's awesome. I have a different way of looking at hardware then a lot of other people I suppose. Price peformance would be awful if I purchased a new cpu mobo ram combo and would most certainly be a mistake especially at this time regardless. I'll take a look at the 14900 but still probably won't upgrade and then when 15900 comes out I'll do the big combo upgrade and obviously a 1200 or 1300 watt psu but until then it makes waaay more sense to use what I have for now for 4k hdr gaming right. People forget combo's use to cost less and now they cost more so I factor that in as well. I owned a 4080 before this and it felt like I was hitting the ceiling from day one and it wasn't the card I was hoping it would be ya know.
