New Zealand has allowed Jap imports for decades .I knew a guy who was deeply into it and made millions out of it ,starting when RX7's were the hot deal . They did't buy each car individually but bought group lots and paid for the the tonnage. Don't expect to get Godzillas cheap though as most of the exotic stuff is big Yen .

Great work on the restoration job. You'll be happy in the end knowing no stone wen't unturned. I would suggest look into lizard skin coating parts of the car. And Cerakote is getting popular now too.
