The Mullica river in the Pine Barrens is also a great one to paddle.

Borestone Mountain is actually made of metamorphic, not igneous(volcanic) rock. Onawa Lake is centered on the Onawa Pluton, an old magma body (see old paper by S. S. Philbrick) and the surrounding mountains, Barren, Benson, Greenwood, and Borestone) are the reaction rim of this pluton where it "baked" the surrounding slate, making a very tough rock called hornfels. But regardless, it is one of the most majestic mountains in Maine.
Thanks, travelled there at age 4 or 5 in approx 1985, I'm desperately trying to remember our stay there

Do you Know mutch about the history of Seboeis plantation? There's used to be a train station at the end of sStation road. I'm trying to learn more about it, Thank you
