I live in California, own a 1969 Marcos GT and drive a Puma GTE as my daily driver. Thought I was car knowledgeable until I saw your Typhoon. Never heard of it. The build and fit looks exceptional. Love the clam-shell bonnet. Very attractive car. Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side. 😢 Thanks for the video.

in the day,i used to spectate at a lot of club race meetings & although i dont personally recall the typhoon racing(i expect it did) i quite often saw the talisman racing & thought it was agood-looking car.anyway,best of luck with the rebuild.

Hello mate, interesting video! I always liked this body type, on account of it's sexy slim waist! (If you know what I mean?😉) Very reminiscent of the Stirling Moss Mille Miglia Mercedes. I owned a 1959 Ashley 1172 Roadster for a brief moment. I sold it to raise the deposit for my first house. It was in EXACTLY the same state as your car there, but the only reason I bought it was because being pre 1960, the HSCC told me (The Historic Sports Car Club) it was eligible for making the grid at some great races where I could be side by side with some awesome machines. But, I met a girl with incredible breasts, and these seemed more important than anything else at the time so I sold the car and bought a house. I look forward to following your progress. Great catch and an enlightening video. I remember Tornado from the mid-Sixties. It came up as a part of my attempts to find and import some Marcos Engineering bits for my Austin Mini Cooper 1071S.

I was an apprentice mech starting 1968, the garage was about 200 yds from Tornado cars in Mill End Rickmansworth. We used to do work for them.

That's a rare car, as rare as a Fairthorpe

i know some one who has one and uses it daily in the summer wicked looking car but the brakes well that is another thing drums all round and the narrow wheels with cross ply tyers oh what fun

One of my great uncles had one under a cover on his drive right until he passed away in 1992. I always liked the look of it and his wife wanted to pass it to me but their son decided to pass it to the owners club instead. Much as I was annoyed at the time it was probably for the best as I was at Uni and would probably have bodged any work involved! I think the owners club were quite active so worth looking them up for info / tech advice. I know some of the gauges in my great uncle’s came from WW2 aircraft and looked all the cooler because of it. He was quite a character, liked a drink and daily drove an immaculate MGB GT right into his seventies.
