Making rustic wooden chest from live edge slabs

I strongly believe that if you are doing a woodworking project with live edge wood, stick to the style and avoid straight lines unless it's absolutely necessary.

Bird feeder by Uudopuu

#woodwork, #DIY,#bird feeder, In such a bird feeder, there is very little chance that the bird's droppings will come into contact with the food. This is important for bird health. Sellises linnusöögimajas on vähe võimalust et lindude väljaheited söögiga kokku puutuvad. Lindude tervise seisukohast on see oluline.

If you buy such a cutting board, it may not be immediately understood, but over time you will realize it is not one of a thousand of mass production, it is a personality, although it is only a piece of wood.

Just found your channel and I echo what others are saying - we would love to see you again. Hope you are well.
Nice
I Love Watching These Videos!!!! Such Talent and Charm!!!!
Hello Udo, nice work as always. Great points you made about critical considerations when evaluating a chair, the older I get how long I can sit says a lot about that chair. You a Seminoles fan?
I am from another continent, and the word Seminoles was not familiar to me. I had to google it. I mean, when people look for music from within, the music is similar. Because human beings are also quite similar inside, no matter what continent they live on. Udo
@@udoaas2466 You are absolutely correct, the music you play sounds very much like the native people of America. I live about 4 hour drive from the Seminoles campus.
Udo, your work is beautiful and videos entertaining.
When next video?
Good question. I would also like to, but you see, there is no time.
What kind of oil /Staind bath do you use, brilliant Time saver
Yes, the oil bath is a real time saver. I use "Teak Oil" in the bath, for the second coat I use "Danish Oil" which I apply with a cloth.
Great video, how can one get one of those cutting boards?
Hi Mark. Of course you can come to my Liivamäe village to buy it if you live nearby. But I suspect that you don't live, otherwise you would have written in Estonian. Maybe you live on another continent, the shipping costs may exceed the cost of the cutting board. So, I don't know what we're going to do about it.
@@udoaas2466 I live in the USA and agree shipping would be cost prohibitive. I really enjoy your videos and your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Cool, the chair, video and music are all cool. Good job.
The bench is beautiful, I don’t know about those four guys though. I really enjoy watching your videos and your work is beautiful.
Another very nice piece. Great job.
Nice video, great work. Thanks for sharing.
Hello udo. We love watching your videos, it is a shame you have not uploaded for a while as your videos are fantastic. Wishing all the very best from SCOTLAND 🏴
Well, I also thought that when I retire, I will have more time to make videos. But it's not like that at all. Sorry.
@@udoaas2466 ahhh that is a shame. You have inspired myself to be creative in natural wood working and for that sir I thank you very much. You are a true gentleman.
@@udoaas2466 hello again. Can I ask what type of oil you are using to seal the wood 🏴
@@thegreatoutdoors3990 Hello It's nice that you give feedback that what I did works for you. Yeh. Yes, there is a wide selection of oils to use. In my work, I have tried to find the best price-quality ratio. There are also better oils, but their prices are also quite high. So my choice is: as the first or impregnation oil, what I do in the bath, I use "Teak Oil". It is quite a liquid oil, fills all the cracks and soaks in well. I use "Danish Oil" as the second oil. It's a thicker oil and you can't apply it in the bath, so I do it with a cloth. Greetings to Scotland from Estonia.
Мастер просто класс ♥️♥️♥️
Love your work. What kind of glue do you use?
Hi Kevon. I use polyurethane glue Pro45 p by Soudal, I tint it with soot to make it a little darker.
What kind of glue do you use? Love your work.

Enjoyed watching the gears turning in your head, while picking out the ones that would work. I’m 73 and I like the music! 🎵. Great job
Hehe, good expression : "the gears turning in your head". Since it has been my daily job to choose suitable branches, it has become kind of state of mind for me to look for harmony between things. Thanks for the kind words about the music I make.
Thank you Udo. I just came up on your channel and I am mystified. I am just starting out as a furniture builder. I am 63 years old and my daughter has tasked me with building outdoor furniture for the brewery that she and her boyfriend are starting here in Maine, USA. I look forward to following you as you continue producing beautiful furniture.
Then we are exactly the same age, and I also made outdoor furniture for my daughter. Look then. The difference is, that you start making furniture, I probably start to finish.
So glad that I know someone famous :):):) Today, TH-cam recommended that I look at this video. So much fun :)
Thank you TH-cam for making me famous. Thanks George for pointing this out. It's really fun, I have to say.

Hola. La cola es "Soudal" PRO 45 P. Es una cola de poliuretano, se expande cuando endurece y es resistente a la intemperie.

Que trabalho lindo adorei essa cadeira. Que música e essa?
Eu também não sei. Essa música veio.
I just watch a bunch of your videos and nice work, you have so many tools dedicated for each purpose, your chairs are very nice. Your work is amazing and your craftsmanship will definitely stand up to time. I have an outdoor workshop with primitive hand powered tools and build basic tables, log benches and stools, mostly for family, friends and neighbors but I think if I were to put a price on them that even they wouldn't buy it. I also spend much of my time carving now that I'm retired, that to me is a hobby I will take to the end of time. Your right though, there's no money in complicated pieces, people will buy stools/plant stands and bird houses, maybe the odd carving but you will not become rich by any means, most of the time it's a negotiation it seems, everyone wants a cheaper price and in the end not buying it anyways.....lol. Cheers
Hi Doug. Yes, it is not possible to make handicrafts at the price of mass production. Handiwork is more expensive, and in order to buy it, people must have free money to afford a handmade item. About ten years ago, this sale was still quite possible. As the year goes by, it becomes more and more impossible. SO, this work has also become more of a hobby for me.
I like your upswing sawbuck, and that tenion cutter is pretty neat! Table came out very nice.
