Great album

Great band, great music, great times.......the eighties really stood out for me and my friends. Thompson Twins with their ever uplifting tunes gave us hours of dancing and listening pleasure. 'Into the Gap' was a real milestone for the mid '80's, what with the Twins' all over MTV/VH-1 and the like. No other band looked or sounded like them. Unique in everything they did. Loved all of the non-lp cuts, too. "Passion Planet", "Leopard Ray", and "Nurse Shark" were great extra bits to delve into. One critique pointed out the lp's water imagery, and I could see/hear why that was expressed. It really has something of a liquid resonance in its grooves. "Sister of Mercy" being a top favorite track for 40 years now......can't believe it! "Thanks" for shining a light on this much-played and revered album of my youth!

Beautiful robin's egg blue vinyl! Very rare color, indeed. But, does it sound good? I have a number of colorful vinyl albums, even a transparent like-glass record, but to my ears, they never really sound as good as their black vinyl counterparts do. I've heard a few folks say the same thing, but maybe we're just too fussy? Ha! "Thank you" for showing this. It's nice to see the 1980's artists getting the love, attention and respect they so deserve through these re-releases of their finest works. Looking forward to your say on the Thompson Twins mega-blockbuster, 'Into the Gap'!!

I think I know every single note of every single song from this album by heart. It's the album that got me interested in pop music, thus sparkling a lifelong love affair. "Victims" still gets to me after all these years. The hits are all amazing, but the album tracks are all standouts as well (I have a soft spot for "Changing Every Day"), which is something rare. And I don't care what some people say about "Karma Chamelon" - it's trendy to put down that song, but the truth is, it's a classic that will live on forever, with good reason (the bittersweetness underlying the song's glossy pop surface is a brilliant contrast).

If I think about what I still listen to the most my top 5 would be 1. Rio 2. Duran Duran 3. Seven and the Ragged Tiger 4. The Wedding Album 5. Big Thing I love SATHRT - some great album tracks - 7th stranger, of crime and passion, Tiger Tiger and Shadows on Your Side. I think it’s aged well. The wedding album contains several gems, including the obvious Ordinary World and Come Undone, but I also love Sin of the City (DD always end their albums with an epic) Big Thing came out just as I left home to go to Uni. It was a big part of my life then, so it means a lot to me

I am glad there will be instructions, as I have never owned a zoetrope, but guessing it’s something to do with camera speed or a strobe app?

i still have my original 7inch vinyl in the attic. I think all the royalties go to live aid still ?

I was 18 when this came out. We miss George very much what a voice he had, such a sad loss. Ill be paying my respects as usual this xmas with a visit to his old house in Highgate.

Sounding must be dreadful like all coloured vinyl.

The ONLY track I skip on this otherwise perfect album is 'Karma Chameleon." I know it was a HUGE hit, but it's a bit candy floss to me. And I hate the chorus lyrics.

BY the way, be careful of PVC sleeves, they off gas and blur vinyl records. Great Top 5 album choices!

From the LP scans on discogs, I still think the original pressing jacket looks better than the 2024 version.

There are many better songs here than the Karma hit, The segue from Miss Me Blind to Mr. Man is unforgettable.I

i believe the old photos were via Nick's collection from auctions. I won't take the plastic off so this is 1st time seeing inside. Just carefully take out the vinyl to play them.

I saw them October 25 and the show so killer. I had a quite a few ppl I know see them on Halloween at MSG and that show show was fantastic (if you saw it on YT before it was taken down). The CD packaging is amazing.

Nice. I just received the SDE Shop 5.1 Surround Blu-Ray. Funny you're speaking of "The Gap" single. My recent trip to a shop last month I picked it up on US Promo 12" from Arista with, Side1: AOR Version 3:53 and Side 2:Club Remix Version 8:34.

I agree fully with your "dud" review of "Seven And The Ragged Tiger". However the album finishes with the superb "Seventh Stranger". A live version of this is included on "Arena".

Saw them in Denver in Late 1984. Great concert and still listening to them today.

I saw them when they were a rock band. 1980.

That red vinyl is superb. Everytime I hear Thompson Twins i think of my days working in the hotel kitchen I was at in 1984. Music has that ability to transport you back to previous times. Glad you have kept the passion for them, never let it fade. My great passion also had Twins in their name, Cocteau Twins, who I virtually worshiped!

For the life of me I cannot see the appeal of Medazzaland. It is unlistenable rubbish, a piss poor attempt by Cuccurullo to emulate the White Album.

I'v (got a lot of time on my hands) and made a complete list of every song on TH-cam and aranged them afte how many times they have been played. Then I count them from every album to see how the albums would line up. (if an album had 9 songs I would devide by 9, and so on) Here are the top 5: 1: RIO 2: Duran Duran 3: Notorious 4: Seven and the Raged tiger. 5: Papergods Sorry if my spelling is not on point.

I have this picture disc. The sound quality is awful. Hissing and distortion between each track and also, on quieter songs like the intro to King of Pain. If this wasn't a collectors edition, I would send it back. Does anyone else have this awful sound issue with their picture disc of this album?

When I first bought Disintegration and Wild Mood Swings on cassette back in 1997 it took a few listens for it to click with me but once it did I was hooked. Same thing for this record, it took a couple listens but I'm really into this record right now where it's all I want to listen to. A beautiful, majestic, and atmospheric album.

It was on a few early versions of dirk weres white sox, i have a nice white vinyl dirk, which has a poster of zerox, and few more goodies as welk worth getting it, lock up your brains cos im here again, was written about the bad press they got back in the day.

I had the original 1986 pressing and the only thing that is different is the record sleeve being transparent to the records label. The fingerprint art was exactly the same and so is the album art. I agree, the package feels lacking, but that's how it was originally.

These 5 albums av been reisued by using 360 visuals which they can make it more interesting to listen to as been all done by nick Rhodes there is a video on TH-cam were nick Rhodes explains and shows you how he's done this he is amazing 🎉🎉🎉that's why they remastered um ok buddy enjoy the video

Yeah same. I love Limp Bizkit and that album, but I listened to it so often that I need to go on a Limp Bizkit break for a while 😂 you know, when you listen to the same album for a while because it just slaps, but then you need something new lol
