I think that something people tend to forget is that shadow is technically the younger sibling in their relationship which is why I think is the reason that I feel so strongly for him
The family dynamic between Shadow and Maria, makes her death that much more tragic. I mean, I’d be permanently traumatized if my little sister died in front of my eyes.
The family dynamic is so heart warming. It makes his shift from being a sweet kind person to a hateful and angry recking ball so much more understandable. His want for vengance didnt come from no where and him being raminded that there are good people in the world and shifting again makes since. I like his arch because it shows that grief isnt something that just goes away with one heartfelt talk or that being an murderous a**hole is just something that happens. A lot of times others cause someone so much pain that their whole world is irripairably shattered. But its not impossible to come back from something so soul crushing and have hope. ❤

Shadow will always be there for Maria ( even if she's in his heart) because the two of them are inseparable after all and he made a promise to her that he's determined to fulfill. No matter what challenges come his way and no matter what happens.

Shadow and Maria always love each other no matter what. Also, I don't care whether it's canon or not (and I don't even remember whether it's canon or not), but as far as I'm concerned, Shadow's DNA is a combination of Maria's DNA and Black Doom's DNA and that means that Maria is literally Shadow's sister (his older sister, to be precise).

Regardless of blood, it's the ties that bond which define family. Gerald, Maria and Shadow were certainly a family and that's why he's so hurt by Gerald violating his autonomy.

I ALWAYS saw maria and shadow as siblings. Shadow as the younger one loved and swore in his heart to protect his sister no matter what since she was the only "Good" thing that he had. The moment he loses that person he Close himself up SO MUCH that now he is constantly on mision to mision JUST to keep the promise he did on her last moments (and to not thing about his own feelings). I hope that after generations he decides to start living a little bit.
