Maytag washer model #MVW7232HW1
My new Maytag washer (bought about 1.5yrs ago) was stuck in sensing mode. The clutch would not engage and the drum would not spin. I changed out the clutch but it still wouldn't work. My brother realized there is a metal ring that when the clutch engages it uses this metal ring to use the magnets on the motor to spin the drum. (Or something like that. I'm definitely NOT a professional washing machine repair person). It looks like where the ring was attached just sheared off. Probably from teenagers doing what should be 3 loads of laundry all at one time. We glued it back on and problem fixed! It saved me a $400 Maytag service repair guy fee plus the clutch was only $35 on Amazon vs $120 on the Maytag site. Hope this helps someone!
