Living My UK Dream
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 7 ก.พ. 2024
A few years ago, I moved to the UK and experienced all the challenges that come with it-finding a job, applying for a visa, renting my first house, and everything else that expats usually go through.
I created this channel to share my experiences and insights about life in the UK, hoping that others might find them useful.

One Simple Rule That CHANGED My Life Forever
In this video, I talk about one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned: the importance of being honest with yourself. For years, I was lying to myself about what I really wanted in life, and it was holding me back. Once I faced the truth, everything changed for the better - my career, my relationships, and even my finances. I hope my story helps you reflect on your own life and make the changes you need to improve it.

Don't Trust Reviews about the country you want to live in
Life has been about following one carrot after another and now we're all out of carrots.
The uk has mass stabbing. It’s very dirty hight level off gang rapes on English women all true facts terrible weather. I am Australian we have amazing weather And amazing beaches. Australia is very clean the parks are amazing. I love the hot weather you can’t beat it. These are the best all around Australia we have people from the uk Swedan Germany. They all say on utube. They love the life style. And beaches.
I love it too
Run of you can and do not look back,it is finished as a democratic country!😯😯😯😯😯😯😯😯
High cost of living, insanely high tax burden and incredibly poor public services and general standards in spite of all the tax. Cameras constantly trying to catch you out and increasing congestion due to overpopulation from mass migration and awful LTNs and other council rackets to screw motorists over. Paying big to have a very low level of living. Anyone with money who is free to move is doing it or at the very least considering it.
Come to Turkey for any kind of Health Treatment as just like an ordinary brit :😂
I am going back to Poland....a lot of polisch people going back beacouse uk is not safe anymore....migrants high knife crime...far left destroying this country...😢😢😢😢
Yeah, it can be really dangerous in some areas. I was shocked when I learned about the crime rate in the UK and how the police handle it. How long have you been living in the UK?

Move to the UK is easy with spareroom you rent a room for 6 months and once the probation period is over you can rent your flat outside of the city close to the two main train (slough or the one close to Luton ) and voila. It's really not hard to live in the UK for me Just need to have a "high" paying job in IT 40 to 60 to 90(high) and voila. It's really not hard. At least for me. BUt I still left because I was not meeting people and having a good time also to raise a family here it might not be so great I value weather and not only work in life. But the park in London are pristine.
Well, if you have a high-paying job, it’s not too hard to rent or live in the UK. However, many people don’t work in IT and don’t have such high salaries. Even for those who do, it’s still hard to buy property because the real estate market here is really bad, and prices just keep going up.
For me the UK is cool I left just because I want to have kids one day and it seems like it will be hard even with IT salary for me .... of 65k also I do not like to be held in a situation of lack of freedom because the price are so high I can't capitalise and jump in the home ownership land. I do not want to dream to be free.. I want to be free. Also the NHS was okay for me but I think that they way I was treated in that country by the NHS was .. meh not sure about the quality of the diagnosis... and the doctor.... Also the hostility I felt it with my british citizen roomate. They are cool and well educated in general but when I was working as a contractor he asked me if I was paying my taxes.. lol Come on of course. Bro go ask that to the russian overloads who bought half your capital city to park money. Basically what motivated to go back to France was : that two speed country I was like What if I succeed in that country I will have a good life but what about all my british mate and friends still having a bad life. I was like what's the point... Rather move back have my little house in France and have most my friends also have a good life. ( basically )
Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s tough. I like the UK, but I’m worried about the future. It would be great if I could succeed, but what about my children? And the inheritance tax is an absolute joke here. You have to spend a fortune to inherit anything, which makes owning property in the long run feel pointless. As for the NHS, luckily, I haven’t had many experiences with them. However, the service I’ve seen provided to my friends was really bad compared to some other countries. It shouldn’t be that way. What’s even worse is that if you come here legally to work, you have to pay over a thousand pounds every year for the NHS, even though you’re already paying taxes. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants get free NHS services. I find it completely unfair that I have to pay twice for the NHS, after already spending a fortune to get a visa. I hope things will change, but for now, it’s just a hope.
even 10 times more in some position in the US vs UK . for IT jobs.
Yeah, you’re right. I just discussed this with my colleagues at work, and they mentioned that when we recruit, it’s hard to compete with the US market because the salaries there are much higher. That’s why many professionals move to the US, where they are more appreciated, and it’s a shame.
Uk is as much taxed as France with less things to show for it. What save the UK is the sense of humor of the population the culture the weather ( I liked all of that ) and the education of the population ( a general sense of order and security and cleanliness , and civilised discussion can still be hold and people are still ambitious there ) . But cost of living .. and so on is bad. you can't really settle there unless you go FAR from London and it's opportunities.
I completely agree with you. Life in the UK is nice, but the cost of living makes it difficult. You either live in London, with all its opportunities and attractions, but can never fully enjoy life because you’re always busy and spend most of your money on basic necessities, or you move far from London where things are more affordable but finding a well-paid job is tough. It’s a hard choice.
Great video
Good quality video
Thanks mate. I’m glad you like it
You missed the hidden 60 percent tax rate when you make over 100k. This is becase you pay back your 12570 that was not taxed when you make over this amount

My YT feed is filled with why people are leaving every other country on earth 😁
+50 and +60 degrees? yea, OK, whatever you say..
I give you an example. £150 from London to Amsterdam or Rotterdam on Eurostar. That is just a single fare. But from Amsterdam or Rotterdam it is just £74 back to London. That's why people want to leave
Wow, that’s a freaking huge difference!!! I rarely use trains in the UK, prefer driving, it’s much cheaper. And imagine if the whole family needs to travel somewhere 🫣 It will cost a fortune travelling by train.
In Spain, you can buy a beer for 2 euros. That's roughly £1:80. The UK it's roughly a £5 and I find that disgusting. NOONE EVER EXPLAINS WHY THE U. K IS SO EXPENSIVE.
I agree that it’s insanely expensive. Honestly, I don’t understand how people can afford to drink at pubs every evening. I understand that this is part of the culture, and I love visiting pubs myself, but I can’t afford to go often.
You only have 1 life. Live it. Everything in the U. K is expensive. That's why.
Called private medicine what do you expect
It appears you focused on Greater London its not the normal
What exactly, mate, do you think applies only to Greater London?
Come to Ireland
I want to visit it one day. I heard that Ireland is really beautiful
50 hools
We all know it's the government and police that have caused this unrest..never happened before.
I don’t think the government really cares much about it. I might be wrong, but the previous government at least demonstrated that the well-being of regular people and the country wasn’t their priority; rather, they seemed focused on lining their own pockets.
Recommending Brits fly the UK coop: Would that be a slammer time offence?
Well, it might ruffle some feathers, but I don’t think the thought police are issuing arrest warrants just yet. 😄 I’m not sure who’s recommending Brits to leave the UK, but you can tell them it’s not a slammer-time offence. 🙂 If you watched my video, you’ll know that I tried to explain to people outside the UK why Brits are leaving, as many have asked me about the reasons. I don’t think locals need an explanation about what’s happening in the UK-they know it themselves. And if some want to leave the country and try to build a life elsewhere, that’s their choice.
Very informative video, thank you. It is interesting to hear how you adapted in England, what stages of adaptation you went through?
Thank you 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the video. And thanks for the idea for my future video-I definitely need to film one about my adaptation to Britain.
Very good and helpful video. Many thanks 🙏
Thank you. I’m glad it was helpful 🙂
Ya see, this is why you need Jesus
More refugees welcome and make the taxpayer pay for it
Exactly, that’s what I’m saying. The government reduces the number of skilled workers-people who work and pay taxes-but allows more refugees who rely on state benefits. It’s madness. 🤯
Why ? They think it’s gonna change something to act like animals ?
Probably. I have no idea why they decided to do that, but I’ve read somewhere that people in a crowd behave completely differently than they do when they’re alone.
@@LivingMyUKDream right, good point.
But that does not serve as an excuse for them and for their behaviour.
Can you make British looted 45 Trillion current amount in India?
😂😂😂 You’re right, but it wasn’t just India-many other countries too! If you’ve been to the British Museum, you’ll see items from all over the world-India, Africa, Japan, China, Europe 😄. And let’s be honest, nobody’s ever going to return any of it.
The British Empire was everywhere for 2 hundred years. Now people of every country the British Empire ruled in the past are in Britain. Britain is a multicultural, multireligious country.
Well, you’re definitely right. Britain used to have a vast empire, but that’s not the case anymore. However, it is now a multicultural and multi-religious country.
England, not the UK, don't drag Scotland into this.
Sorry, mate. I know that 90% of the riots are in England, but they’re happening in Belfast too. However, ‘UK riots’ sounds better than ‘English riots’ on the internet-it’s just marketing.
Why don’t the protestors wear masks? In the days of 24-hr video surveillance and face recognition that’s asking for trouble
I don’t think anyone would trace them, maybe only those who stabbed someone or were very violent. Usually, the police don’t actively search for criminals, even if their faces are clearly visible on surveillance cameras. A policeman once told me that there’s too much crime, so they focus only on serious offences and ignore smaller ones.
@@LivingMyUKDream Ahhhh, so serious crimes like retweeting
Exactly 😂😂😂😂😂
Good points..Thankyou for making this informative video...all the best
Thank you very much. I'm glad you've found it informative. Stay safe
You could have said the £3000 application fee only gives three years, then you need to apply again (a bit cheaper) . After 5 years you can get settle status (for another £3000) and after that citizenship costing $1600????). Also the NHS levy must be paid in advance for the full three years of the fist visa which means that you get charged around £6000 upfrout to put in an application.
It’s even more than that now because the British government raises the fees every year. However, I didn’t want to go into all the details in the video. A Skilled Worker visa for 5 years costs around £7,000 today, and there’s also the fee for the exam to gain British citizenship. As I mentioned, it seems easier to take a boat and get here illegally because, in that case, you can receive state benefits and free NHS services. This is so wrong.
@@LivingMyUKDream Exactly, and multiply the cost by the number of family members
I don’t even want to think about this number 😱, especially if you have a big family. And if you have £15,000 - £20,000 in savings, is it worth spending it on the visa? It would take a long time to save that amount again unless you’re earning £100,000 a year or more.
wow! cool
Thank you ☺️
Brother the problem is that they aint using the system properly they are letting in 3r world people with no skills no common language or history or culture you are an asset to our country but im from Rochdale originally i know that the muslims are NOT coming for a quiet life it is a jihad by immigration to eventually take over the country or to have a "holy war" Hindu? sihk? rastafarian? bring 1 bring all they are wonderful but Islam only wants to dominate
Also we ONLY refuse people at such high number because people want to move here more then most other euro countries its not that we refuse more its we get more so HAVE to refuse more
While we have homeless people of our own and people without work we should stop ALL immigration clean our house up and then consider more
The problem is that the government can restrict and stop legal immigration for people who want to come and work here. But I can't see how the government can stop illegal migrants from coming on boats and other ways.
@LivingMyUKDream that's why we will soon have reform in charge mate I'm an englishman and can trace my family back to the 1500's here I know what's coming I know my people
@@LivingMyUKDream how can we stop illegal immigration ...we have one of the world's best army and navy ... park the navy in the channel return every boat to France soon they give up its not we can't they won't because wacism
I am soooooooo delighted that after 38 years of living in the UK I had the courage to come home and say "sod you Britania" racist xenephobic toxic crap hole ............. I am angry for having gone there as a legal migrant in the first place
Oh wow, you’re brave! It takes immense courage to abandon everything you’ve built over 38 years and move to another country, even if it’s your motherland.
@@LivingMyUKDream with the current state of the UK ........since the financial crises it was not so difficult it took a while to get used to living back in Portugal but I am glad I done it ......I used to work in some very big customers for some very big corporations in the UK and beyond......... I will never forgive being called a que jumper, bargoning chip and a citizen of no where .......good luck to all but I am done I tried
Yeah, I know what you mean. Non-English people face a lot of racism in England. But I hope that you're in Portugal now, living a comfortable life. I haven't been to Portugal yet but want to visit it someday.
@@LivingMyUKDream bro it used to be "EU Citizens now it is Black and Asian ppl and anyone else......come visit Portugal AND be welcome hope you visit ...very best regards
Thanks, mate. I’ll definitely visit it one day; it’s on my bucket list. Saving money for travel while paying all the bills isn’t easy, but I’m slowly making progress toward my goals 🙂
im sorry all this is happening I feel both sides are try to charm the situation down.
I hope everything gets better soon. But the government needs to take action to fix the issues; otherwise, the riots will only stop temporarily, until something else sparks them again.
I hope you found these facts about British immigration policy enlightening. It's a complex and often controversial topic, and I wanted to share my insights as someone who has experienced the process firsthand. Please feel free to ask any questions or share your own experiences with immigration in the comments below. I’m excited to hear your thoughts and start a conversation! Paying tax is bad enough, but I wouldn't be half disappointed if the money was going in the right places but it isn't. This country is sh@t. I'd leave tomorrow if I could.
I completely agree with you. It’s acceptable to pay high taxes when you see improvements in public services and your lifestyle is getting better and better. However, it’s very disappointing when you can’t see what you’re paying for.
The whole country sucks so badly that it is sickening beyond belief. I have lived in this country for 54 years and its gotten more and more worse.
Do you think the new government can fix it, at least in some aspects?
Govt is busy to feed illigal immigrants for free food, home, hospital, education, and everything what a middle class family keep. In this situation native Britishers have become second class citizens. Islamic invasion is increasing more and more every day.
Unfortunately, that's true. Those who work hard and pay taxes have less that those who came here illegally and sit on benefits.
Sunak will be defeated
Bollocks to national service.
Why would anyone fight for a country that wont fight for its people suppose its one way they can replace real British population send them to war to be in a fight thats not our fight all for supporting ukrainie with weapons but draw the line at sending our kids to fight to defend us while the government actively lets anyone from anywhere invade us for the sake of not being seen as racist when anyone with half a brain can tell you if you dont know the history or the place they are from then there is no way to know if they are a threat but the government rather let anyone in that let no one in and only have legal migration witch is stupid when you can just pay a few 1000s to hope on a boat why would you come the legal way and actually have to work to be part of Britain
It won't happen. Obviously. I can't remember the last time the Tories actually made good on any of their promises. Silly nonsense.
Do be honest as a 16 year old this is a great idea. As many kids are just on their phones wasting their time scrolling through tik tok
Wow. I thought child soldiers was only seen in the third world.
