Dirk Aschmoneit has an incredible story from humble beginnings in Germany to worldwide marketing success. However, his influence on Ironman racing is a huge story itself being the first German to ever win an Ironman. That first win came in Auckland, New zealand in 1991.

1997 Hayden Wooley former ITU athlete went off the front on the swim and the bike. Taking it to Lothar Leder. I was there but crashed at the turn around on the bike😢.
