IS it Luck or Pure Class ?? | IRELAND VS ENGLAND PREVIEW
Love the analysis mate, definitely a subscriber now. Nice to hear positive reviews of Ireland from a SA fan. I hope we play you in the Autumn. Ire vs SA needs to he played at least once a year!
It's Sam's 22nd birthday today, hope he has a great day. Sam is very good, but he knows enough to know he is not the finished article yet. Whilst he is very brave, he needs to improve his defensive game. He also needs to improve his own individual threat on the line, which is probably the advantage Crowley has over him. However, I do think both of these items will develop naturally as he grows physically stronger and gains more experience. He is in a very good environment at Leinster with some of the world's best players and coaches to aid in his development. By the end of this year I think he will be a considerably better player than he was at the beginning, but his journey is only starting.
Sam only turns 22 on 11th Feb. Only a starter for Leinster this season , after starting for Ireland. Crowley also very important even if he is on field as second playmaker in 12 or 15 . Frawley the forgotten man now , even after his heroic drop goals against SA last summer. Thanks for review . Let’s see how NZ perform in 2025 - not as pessimistic as you are. Prendergast is supposed to be a student of the game and can only sponge it all up with Barrett there this year in Leinster . Also, in Ireland he has Sexton as coach .
France lost the game, England didn’t win it.
England
Italy mismanaged badly in the last 10 minutes, when Garbisi was out, but good performance phisically from the start up to 69 minute. Wales played without self-belief.
A fact for you scotland have beaten ireland 11 times in a row because one game was abandoned in the 1800s so if ireland beat scotland one more time then we get 12
So many things to pick up I don't know where to start. Can you and Prendergast get a room.. the boy has not been tested. England and Scotland missed a trick. He should have been hammered for the first 15 mins. Saffers would knock him back to the womb. Re Duhan. Nothing to do with where he was looking. It was a yellow which admits foul play...it can't be a red unless he booted his head. Not a pen try because it has to be probable that he would score...he probably would but there were 2 defenders and the ball was travelling fast
Christ relax we are not expecting him to get us past a quarter final yet but with time and game exposure then who knows
Yes he has not been properly tested yet up again the best in the world but how many players have this kind of composure.. my point is that he is one of the most exciting talents in the world.. a more experienced Prendergast will be able to do a much better job. His talent ceiling is sky high but he has to ensure that he stays fit and improves.. we could see a very exciting players over the next few years especially with the talent that he is being exposed to in Leinster In terms of duhan, personally I believe that he stopped a try, the speed that Nash was travelling at he would have reached the ball. If VDM was able to reach the ball before it left and VDM was behind Nash.. I feel Nash would have reached the ball if VDM didn't hit him but eh that just my opinion, I'm no ref and feel that he reffed the game well. No point crying over spilt milk. Brilliant game though,
I dont think so .He is only 21❤
Nice video just calm collected thoughts enjoyable to listen to! I think it bodes well for Ireland that we have 2 wins and haven’t really played to our full potential
21 2nd six nations start and didn't do to badly
regarding the world cup Ireland need to develop props as the current bunch are aging and wont make the next world cup , well not all of them
Sorry mate if you know anything about prendergast he didn't come out of nowhere he was spotted as a unique talent years ago and carefully developed . Unless injury or a mad loss of ability he is irelands number 1 but crowley is a fantastic number 2 with frawley as an excellent back up to them
Penalty try
He sure is 100%
Fin Smith will be better than him.
I’m not sure what rugby game you watched bus to say Ireland didn’t domination areas is completely inaccurate completely inaccurate every facet of the game Scotland was outclassed
I don’t know if I’m certain, obviously on a good run right now but at some point a runner has to stop at a certain point
Italy missed 3 kicks in a row.
I bet he gets the British Lions jersey.
No i think crowley gets that
Neither will get it. Finn has to be brought otherwise Scotland would probably leave. Sam doesn't have the experience that Fin Smith has and Crowley doesn't have the experience Marcus Smith has. I hope we get some fixtures against Argentina so we can get them more caps.
18:10 Ireland will be going for the Triple Crown in Cardiff against Wales. The principality stadium makes it a bit difficult.
Go Ireland 🇮🇪
I think Prendergast has the 10 jersey nailed on for this campaign , I can't see rotation even for Wales next up, just seems to me the coaches want to play him for experience or whatever, it will take a really bad game for Crowley to start Imo, it's never been better for Ireland, very proud of the lads and feel lucky to have two good 10's competing for the position, great times.
Im big sam fan and do think he has something jack doesnt have, that said i want jack to start v wales,we want 2 great 10s not one.
Sam was Ireland U20 number 10,he also played for Ireland development squad in SA.
1:22 he didn't come out of no where. I've been saying for the last 2 year thay Leinster was hatching ther own flyhalf starlet. When crowley took over after the world cup. Prendergast was doing great at U20's and in the Leinster Academy. Was slowly introduced into the Leinster senior team like they do with everyone. All Leinster fans seen thiz coming and we've been saying it a couple of years now. We also said when he gets his proper chance and is set dont be surprised when he becomes first choice 10.
Jamison Gibson Park probably deserved that man of the match, a bit more than sam. if that was dupont doing that stuff, it be sung from the rafters. But sam still desering if it too. I dont think we'll see sam in the 22 man squad against Wales, i think it'll be Crowley and Crawley.
I agree it wasnt close at all. Ireland dominated from start took the crowd out of game. Should have won by more in both games. France will be looking to stop them or else its another grand slam. Still i think theirs more in this irish team.
Did nobody else notice his awful defense in both of the Scottish Tries? The hype around Prendergast is embarrassing
He is amazing
He has to take a look at his tackling @@bernieob9577
You know f...k all
What! He took Duhan vdM off the field, he was just a second too late but he did the tackle.
The first try mervin had to do a theatrics to get the try, so i think he done good
VDM taking out Nash was absolutely deliberate. I believe Nash, a real speedster , would have got the ball as it bounced on the line. Look how competitive the Irish team is, when, Ciaran Frawley , the drop goal hero in SA, cannot get into match day 23. Also, a word for Thomas Clarkson who came on each game and has done great at scrum time. Lots of good young players coming through in key positions ( just watch the 2nd/3rd team Leinster will send to SA for URC - yes, they will get beaten but, invaluable experience). Also, remember , this current Irish team is without Joe McCarthy and Tadgh Furlong who are “injured” but should return for French game . Ireland rugby in good place . I’m Leinster supporter and always a bit worried about the toll on our International players with such big games in URC and Champions Cup coming up. That me just being selfish :) .
@@tomf1dublin1 into believe that it was deliberate but eh it is what it is.. Ireland have some serious talent through the ranks.. this might me being a little biased but the work nienaber is doing at Leinster is great and developing SA quality talent in Ireland.. he's bringing the grit and tenacity back, which I what I feel Ireland have lacked at times.. Ireland are no where near the size of SA but developing talent at an incredible rate. I cannot wait for furlong to be fit so he can start smashing heads and this is still a weakened Ireland which is crazy to think about
You can use the logic that vdm would of touched it down also to justify the penalty try
The bounce of the ball took it out of his path and into the 2nd Scottish defender. Nash is fast but he's not lightning. As I say that as a Munster fan who was desperate for him to get more caps in the Autumn. We know Mack Hansen is the starting 14 for the next World Cup but it would be nice to have some injury cover ready to go. And the same is true in most positions. I think Doris has played every single game at number 8 and probably will do until 2027. If he gets injured before the tournament we'll basically have a novice starting.
France are still a scary prospect for us. Extremely volatile side. When they are playing bad they struggle to beat Italy but when they reach their ceiling they can beat NZ. What type of French team are we going to meet?
@@zeroconnection oh yes 100% but they are still too inconsistent where as Ireland are not.. winners always find a way to win no matter the circumstances and Ireland do this brilliantly.. I'm not discounting France but purely.sayin that Ireland have the upper hand
@@saintsandspringbokshub1Hopefully we rise to the occasion. Should be a brilliant game.
@@saintsandspringbokshub1our autumn tour was dodgy so we have to remember that
Sam was a brilliant outhalf for irelands U20s for about three years. Crowley is still the better player and as things stand he will be the go to guy. having two blokes who are so good shows how good the irish system is , for all popsitions.
If crowley in your opinion is a better player, why has sam started both games, maybe because the people who matter know and see way more than you or i can see.nearly all negative comments ive read about sam have been from munster fans, not saying you are, just making an observation
@@amantedellopera1681a case of not putting all your eggs in one basket i assume
Scotland lost their 3 best players to injury. I am not getting too cocky. The real test is France. we still have not seen the return of the 2022 form. Need furlong to have a run out against Wales. He's the difference between playing at 70% to getting to 80%. Won't see 100% till sam or jack get closer to sexton.
It's not Jalibert , it's penaud
Thank you I always get confused between them
Thanks for the content, mate-really appreciate it! As an Irish supporter, I’m way too nervous and emotional to be confident right now, so I decided to run some permutations. I'll be making a lot of assumptions here while mapping out Ireland’s path to glory for the third year in a row. I know this is too soon, but since you asked? let's give it a look. Ireland currently sits on 10 points, meaning the maximum they can reach is 25. The following scenarios are just for discussion purposes, with plenty of assumptions in play: *If Ireland wins all their remaining games with bonus points → They win the Grand Slam with 28 points.(additional 3 Grand Slam points) *If Ireland wins all their remaining games without bonus points → They still win the Grand Slam, finishing on 25 points (thanks to the additional 3 Grand Slam points). *If Ireland beats Wales & Italy with bonus points but loses to France while scoring 4 tries and losing by 7 or fewer → They earn 2 losing bonus points and finish on 22 points, securing the championship. *If Ireland beats Wales & Italy with bonus points but loses to France with only a losing bonus point → They finish on 21 points. *If France and England also win all their remaining games with bonus points, all three teams would end on 21 points, meaning the title would be decided on points difference. * If Ireland beat Italy and wales without bonus points, and lose to France with or without a bonus point, they end on 18 or 19 points respectively . They can't win assuming France, England and Scotland win their remaining games with bonus points. *If Ireland loses more than one remaining games, its over. Maximum points each team can receive is Ireland 25, France 21, England 21, Scotland 20, Italy 19 and Wales 16
@@TheContrarianMind thank you so much for this and love it when people take their time to give our really well thought out comments.. honest y there's only 1 blip and that France, we all know what they are capable of on their day especially with Dupont. I can't see Ireland losing heavily to France and definitely can't see them losing to Italy and Wales.. yes it might be a bit too soon but considering easily dispatched England and Scotland who were the potential dark horses of the tournament, I have nothing but faith in Ireland tongo and get the Grand slam.. they will be pumped for the France game after beating Wales (yes, I'm predicting a win early 😂) and will be in high.. the only way for them to lose to Wales would be if everyone gets kidnapped and they have to use their U10 side
If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle but she hasn't so she's not. Win the next game. Ps. My aunt not a pronoun either.
I agree pendergast is fantastic he even got man of the match
I agree with you man. Not only do Ireland play great rugby they also have a dogged determination to win and have that physical presence to grind teams down and that's exactly what they did against Scotland and England. They are becoming more and more like the Boks where both teams have a great wealth of experience mixed with some amazing young talent coming through. I'm still wary of this French team though. They fluffed so many chance against England in a game they should have put to bed by half time. I can't see them repeating those again but do they (even with Dupont) have the rugby nous that Ireland have? I don't think so. France are still vulnerable particularly when you get under their skin and Ireland know how to do that in spades. But underestimate them at your peril! I also think that England have turned a corner in the right direction. Sheer dogged determination and a never give up attitude saw them through that game against France. The Grand Slam is there for Ireland now. If they continue in this rich vein of form they can certainly do it. Let's wait and see!
@@vladtheinhaler6579 yes, this is why Ireland were number 1 for so long and even now only sit 2 points behind SA also being one of 2 teams to beat SA in the whole of 2024.. Ireland have solidified themselves as elite and deserve that spot ongst the greats I'm not too sure a out England just yet and will need to see more as we have seen resurgences like this before only for them to fall back down. I truly hope England has turned a corner and start playing like this consistently.
Prendergoat. The new king
Yellow Cards and Russell and Graham went off in the 15 minutes, and the Scots had to fight to the death. Ireland has 230,000 registered players vs. 39,000 registered players in Scotland, and Ireland has 4 pro teams vs. 2 pro teams in Scotland. Rugby is important in Ireland, but in Scotland, it's a peripheral sport.
Ireland does not have 230,000 rugby players where did you get figure out of, and Rugby is the 4 most popular game in Ireland With only 4 pro Teams
Mate I see you typed this comment on so many rugby content channels. It’s completely inaccurate completely inaccurate. Do you think high percent of the population in Ireland which is 5 million people you think 250,000 of them are registered rugby players? That’s not true at all.. there’s less than 120,000 and that’s including little children it’s including women it’s including school clubs.. and also rugby is not that important in Ireland it’s still this day the fourth most popular sports it doesn’t even receive as much funding as horse racing dog racing athletics soccer GAA they all receive more funding. It’s not that popular stop spreading these lies on the king it’s ridiculous.
@@barabara9549he’s always going around saying that .. the only sport that will ever have that many registered players in Ireland is GAA.
Thanks for rhe compliments too bru. SA is the only place Irish rugby gets real respect.
Predergast is sublime. Has been for what seems like a long time now. Pro rugby is ruthless.
Never underestimate the spite of neighbouring sides.
He didn't come out of nowhere,in Ireland he's always been the possible next great ten. Crowley and Prendergast ,we are seriously excited.
He came out of nowhere for the foreign boys. Today he proved he is miles ahead of Crowley.
@@baruchhashem49 Ireland are lucky to have both.
@@garytaylor6408 yes , he was always seen as a great prospect but wasn't necessarily in the conversation for Ireland's 10 especially not this quickly. Crowley and frowley has more international experience so it was expected that he will gradually take over but not immediately in this fashion.. hes taken Ireland by storm
They have been watching him since he was 14/15. It would be great if he and his big brother Cian both get to start against Wales.
@@baruchhashem49 not miles ahead. Ireland is very lucky to have these 2
I don't think that anyone will doubt that Ireland are a good team. The question I always have is: are they a great team? Are they on the level of the best NZ or SA teams, who crush all opposition and win all the crucial games and trophies? Ireland were supposed to break the World Cup quarter final hoodoo in 2023 but failed again. They were going for the second grand slam in a row last year but were squeezed out by England. They've done better than any other Irish teams in past generations but I'd like to see them finally stamp themselves as a great team by crushing all opposition. Although it's dangerous to assume that they will win against Wales and Italy it would be a major upset if they didn't. The test will be against France and they need to show that they have the right stuff and remove any doubts about who is the best Northern hemisphere team.
Looks like very little between Ireland, SA, France and NZ with England closer than previous results suggest
We should have won by more. When Scotland lost two of their best players early on and were reduced to 14 we should have scored more tries. We will need to and can step up a gear against France.
Okay, first of all known in the history of the six nations no one has done a Grand Slam two years in a row so your thought processes slightly off second of all they have won the six Nations two years in a row one of them being a Grand Slam so yeah you could say that they’re more than good third of all they’ve managed to be South Africa twice within the same year once I away from home and the other one in South Africa’s backyard South Africa didn’t beat them for eight years Ireland have been able to go to New Zealand and completely win a series down there in the last four years they’ve only lost a handful of games. I’m sick of this they don’t have a World Cup… we’re talking about the six nations and ultimately Ireland were not competitive at rugby until perhaps 2012.. and we were only ever in a rugby World Cup in France 2023.. rugby is still incredibly popular in Ireland at all in fact there’s a huge rugby crowd that prefers soccer or Gaelic sports because of the demographics. They are a great team.. Jonah lumo is widely considered to be the greatest rugby player to ever exist and about 90% of the rugby world would agree with that he doesn’t have a World Cup Anton DuPont.. also another great rugby player he doesn’t have a World Cup. Cross the opposition you don’t remember when Seb Africa got absolutely hammered in Ireland a few years ago you don’t remember when Ireland went to South Africa back in summertime and the current world champions couldn’t even score one try. Our art degree team in the history of rugby no because they weren’t even a serious rugby team until about a decade ago unless I’ll be real here. We all know what’s happened to South African rugby team over the years actually over the decades should I say they’ve been laced with doping scandals they’ve had over 15 South African rugby players be banned for doping former South African rugby players have admitted Thay there is huge doping issues so not everyone’s Wins are legitimate
So you rate teams by the throphys they win and crushing teams, Ireland have won the richest rugby tournament in the world twice and are going for another, they crushed NZ in a series the drew with SA in a series, NZ cannot beat SA and it’s almost two years since they won anything enjoying defeats by SA Argentina France and could easily lost all 3 games to England. So I suppose this NZ team is still somewhat behind Ireland because they’re crushing no one and winning nothing 😂
I think ireland are just playing around at the moment wate for France 😮
Irish are saving the big one for France in Dublin
The outcome is looking like if even ireland lose to france but deny them the bonus try and lose within 7 ireland win the 6 nations
Also need to consider england, if scotland lose but deny them the bonus try point then ireland win
Honestly I don't feel Ireland will need a that detail to win the 6 nations.. we are seeing a very consistent Ireland even though yes they need work in the lineouts .. this is a scary Ireland, consistent and unforgiving With prendergast at 10 and only getting better.. we will see a much improved squad by the end of the 6 nations
The Irish fans in Landsdowne Road will be heard in Paris! C`mon Ireland.
@@x-latetv-x6816We have to win in Wales first.
Irelands lineout still an issue, how cant they fix it🙄
Bizarre analysis. What game were you watching? Ireland were dominant. Scots were poor and they are much better than that.
100% at the moment , Ireland are very big favourites
Irish players said they felt they didn't play near their potential today scary lol😅
Yeah I know 😂 and with prendergast only getting better, they will be deadly in 2027
Thank you for the comment and its greatly appreciated
No, it's right. Plenty of room to get better.
I hate to break it to you lads, but we (Ireland) are the new England. No one wants us to win. Its as if we are above our station. How dare we not be the whipping boys we used to be
Ireland are no longer what they used to be and are now giants in rugby.. they are ATM the only team that can truly be classified on the same lines as SA in terms of performance and even SA have a torrid time against them.. this Ireland squad in 2027 is going to be scary
Thank you for the comment and its greatly appreciated
