During my battle on this mission, I remember Natalia's VTOL getting caught in the Prometheus mech's explosion after defeating it. Her VTOL crashed land and exploded, but she radioed in, stating that she was alive and okay. She's unable to drop off any more power-ups and salvage after that, obviously, but that was the end of the level anyway for me. I always liked how they added that feature in those rare circumstances.

whats funny is this theme is used in some parts of episodes of 'courage the cowardly dog', the great examples are the windmill vandals and 'forbidden hat of gold', if you dont believe me, watch it yourself on those episodes, and tell me they sound really similar

This and Halo CE took up A LOT of my time when we first got our OG Xbox, which I still have. Also played the shit out of the demo discs you used to get with some magazines.

This shit is so much fun to play on the drums. I remember growing up and playing this game as a kid and this was my first exposure to metal music. I grew up and became a drummer and really wanna start jamming out to these songs on my drumkit lol.

Insane track. It's like lamenting the loss of technology from the succession wars and all the destruction and death it brought. The Icarus is heavily damaged and almost mirroring the state of the galaxy, as you go out into the cold, dark night and clear out WoB forces to buy Foster time.

I've heard that dark, sombre, despair-inducing chanting in the background a few times before, including from this music track ( th-cam.com/video/iabgA0TA6Fk/w-d-xo.html ), but I don't yet have a solid idea as to where it originates from in all of its dark despair-inducing glory. Any ideas? (I've heard it sounding like "miserere mei", which is latin for "have mercy on me", but the search results aren't anywhere nearly as dark and menacing as this.)

The original Xbox games are gold mines of content. Imagine seeing Mechassault and its sequel, COD: Finest Hour, Big Red One, Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge, Unreal Tournament, and Fusion Frenzy come back like Halo 2: anniversary. We could reintroduce games where both the story and multiplayer were given consideration rather than season passes and loot boxes.

The beat is from Spectrasonics Distorted Reality, used on a lot of stuff. I don't know how much Cozzi messed with that sample pack, he added a lot on top I think. I wonder what the inspiration was with these tracks. It has this mix of groove/nu metal vibe that was big in the early 2000s (Korn/Papa Roach) but with the orchestra and melodic elements that move around I never heard anything really like this. I think if Cozzi studied for music then it would be the classical leanings.
