Coach Lou, I have always admired you as a coach and a mentor. And, I had the honor to meet Woody Hayes when I was young and it meant so much as a Buckeye fan. Many in our family had hoped that you would become the coach of Ohio State following Woody’s departure. Nevertheless, you continued to inspire my kids with speeches about teamwork and leadership which later helped them be successful. We are grateful for your support of Ohio State throughout the years. Although we will be routing for the Buckeyes to win the National Championship, we wish you all the best in health. Go Buckeyes!

Coach Lou and President Reagan were the two men that Inspired me as a young man to want to be part of something bigger than myself. I wasn’t big enough or smart enough to play football or attend Notre Dame put so I did the next best thing I enlisted in the U.S. Army! God Country and Notre Dame!
