Welcome to my channel Witty 924, and if you enjoy my videos please subscribe and help me create more. Thank you!
I started this channel by restoring my 1984 Porsche 924 2.0 to a great road-going example of the first classic front-engined transaxle car that Porsche launched in 1975.
Having had such a great response from TH-cam visitors and channel watchers I am now expanding my videos to cover general reviews, maintenance and upgrades on my daily drivers and looking for more classic car projects to work on. (maybe some modern project cars too :)
I welcome all of my subscribers, and watchers to recommend types of maintenance, car topics, and future project cars for the channel.
Thank you for all the support, for subscribing to my channel and for taking the time to join me on this adventure with cars.

It could look better with different wheels. I had Gotti six spoke wheels on my 924.
@@Dethmeister that's sounds interesting, I have struggled to find a decent 4 x108 match with the right offset. Did think about painting them gold, what do you think?
@Witty924 My Gotti wheels were gold star center, silver outer rim with rivets. I think they looked good on a red car. Your wheels match the color scheme of your car very well. I don't think gold would be better. Maybe try Dip Your Car plasti-dip wheel kit. It's peel-able if done correctly.
@Dethmeister thanks for the tip. Will take a look at that. 👍
Get the phone dial wheels. They were a factory option.

@@billyly4853 Hi Billy, thanks for the comment and support. So the earlier models came with twin accumulators. Thanks for the video, it prepared me for the task. I agree that the tools you have affect the way the repair is performed. I was able to do it in under an hour without disconnecting the battery and without disconnecting the alternator connections... utilising a 1/4 drive socket and extension set. I did purchase the housing and dipstick tube, and opted to keep the original housing (as the replacement was not OEM) and replace the dipstick tube (as that was OEM). GREAT info on the heater control panel doubling as an engine temperature gauge - VERY useful. I used Mannol G12+ ready mixed coolant. Perfect repair - nows runs at correct temperature 🙂

How did you move that pipe? I have removed that bolt, and that steel pipe won't move at all.
@@VasylUK hi Vasy, are you talking about the pipe on the back right handside? You can lose a nut and give the pipe a tug to the right. The pipe on the front needs the bracket removed to help create a small amount of room. The cover should angle up and the back enough to then pull over the front threaded studs. Let me know how you get on 👍
Hope you used threadlock!
Looking for same for my A3 1.9tdi 8P1 2006 (Mk2?); this is the nearest; and all; video I've been able to find so far, that actually really tell's you (me) anything really meaningful in practice! So thank you! How long would a jubilee clip against rubber actually do anything and last? However, my biggest problem so far, is actually 'confirming' the 'correct' bushes to obtain, even though the front ARB bar is 22ml (+, because it's actually hard to definitively measure!) via using a vernier caliper? Same for the rear (21mm (so 20.7?). That includes using Febi Bilstein in trying to find (and confirm) the actual correct part/s! Audi seem to have ensured these are a nightmare to service / maintain! (among other things!)?
@@Richard_L_Y hey Richard thanks for the comment and support. So if you have a tape measure for clothing, one that is flexible enough to wrap around the bar so you can get a good measure of the bar diameter. If it's a 22 mm then a 20 mm bushing will work great. General rule is do use a busing 2 mm less in size as that creates a nice tight fit. The idea of the bushing is a tight fit nothing more as the bar will flex slightly left and right during cornering but the drop links will ensure everything stays in place as designed. Yes a little lock tight on the clamp bolts can be used. The audi design with plastic covers suggests a new anti role bar being installed which is crazy and expensive, just not needed. Let me know how you get on 👍
@@Witty924 Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply; every little bit of info helps! e.g. for threadlock, it's also good to use as an anti-corrosive, even if not needed otherwise!
(maybe ironically; as it's mainly supposed to stop things falling off; but is something that works both ways!)

@@davidwalker575 hi David, thanks for the comment. This was done on a 2016. 👍
Brilliant thank you. I just followed your video and fitted my own. The error code disappeared and the LR4 thinks stop/start is available but it is yet to actually work! Any advice?
@@davidwalker575 great to hear David. Did the start stop work before you changed the battery. I know the LR4 start stop is vey temperamental, many don't work as they should. If you have an OBD2 reader you could find there is a fault code that needs clearing potentially.
@@Witty924 thanks for the reply. OBD2 reader shows no fault but is failing when I try to reset the BMS. It’s been so long since it failed that I’ve forgotten how well it worked before. I’ll prob just chalk it up to needing a few more runs and it generally being a pretty pants feature to begin with

Question the two ports that have plastic caps on can you just plug them if the car doesn’t have the side pickup??
@@dinomelton hi Dino, thanks for the comment and support. So if you have the same model as mine you need the picks ups as the tank is a Tshape . If you have a none t shaped tank which I believe is on 2 wheel drive 996s then you need a different pump/swirl pot. I'm not sure if you block them up if it will cause a performance issue with the pump ans swirl pot internal design. You could test it out of the car to see how well it works with plugging those ports. Let me know how you get on 🤞👍
Hi I have problems starting my 924 porche it runs fine when warmed up could it be the warm up regulator or the cold start injector ..I'm going to replace the coil first as everything else like rotar arm and distrutor and plugs has been replaced
@@stevehunt3847 Hi Steve, thanks for the comment and support. So it could be a few things. Once you have replaced the coil, the WUR is a good place to start. Remove it and give it a clean out, it may have dirt in the inlet. Also while it's out just check the ohms, should be 20ohms to ensure the metallic strip inside is all good. While you are there, remove and check your AAR. It should be open when cold, a decent sized hole should be visible through the unit. Finally the cold start valve. Remove it from the manifold housing and place in a glass jar and see if it sprays when cold. My feeling is the WUR, these tend to be the route of most little gremlins when starting/idle. Let me know how you get on 🤞 👍
Hi thank you I will try all these things thanks for your time it runs smoothly when engine is warm

@@stevehunt3847 hey Steve, have you test the 5th injector, did it work on a cold start? Did you take the airbox off and lift the air metering plate? That should send fuel to all injectors to get a start. If that doesn't work you need to check your fuel pump, can you hear the pump when cranking the engine? You definitely have spark too?
