Great video. Your drone shots are wonderful. You came up here to Ontario at the best time of year, when the leaves are changing and the bugs are gone. That drop down to the river side camp site looked a little treacherous, but what a site!
@@daveschilkie465 Thanks! I’m sure the bugs are swarming in the summer months but I’d imagine still well worth it. That drop down was a little nerve wracking and was a bit steeper than it looks but definitely just a gorgeous site.
Theres thousands of trails and camping ( boondocking ) spots .....
I love my state its absolutely Gorgeous 😍 ❤️ 💯
@@tammycruz8189 The UP national forests are so much more remote and extensive than what we have in WI with the Chequamegon-Nicolet NF.
Michigan stole it from Wisconsin
You are making amazing video content. I just watched the video and your video quality is appreciable. I am so impressed by your content. I was analyzing your channel and noticed that you are struggling with video views and videos ranking. May I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals
Awesome adventure! Were you guys driving a few weeks ago on the freeway in northeast WI, then stopped at REI in Milwaukee?
@@noahmoua5195 Yes, that was definitely us! We were coming back from the Nicolet NF that weekend. Happy a local enjoyed our adventure!
5min in and i love it❤❤ Hello from Western Germany
@@Prokres_Overland Thrilled you enjoy it. Hello from North America!
What trail was that with the big water hole? I’m In UP right now
We were originally on the road named “Huron Mountain Drive from Big Eric’s to Van Riper” on onX and turned east on an “Unknown Road” a little ways south of the Big Eric campground. This trip was from Labor Day weekend so not sure if they had a chance to dry out or get more rain since then.
The sticks that you saw by next to the metal rims at the waters edge are most likely the remains of a fish trap. I'm pretty sure the rims are there to attract catfish whe the water is higher. Most likely for noodling catfish. IMHO...
Didn’t think of that possibility. It was a bizarre sight all up and down what was is now the shore.
The Shawnee National Forest is amazing, isn't it? Great video!
Absolutely! When we were planning our route we were excited to see that Shawnee fit perfectly into our first stop.
That looks like a nice place to explore!
We’d love to go back and explore more!
Such gorgeous scenery! Loved it.
@@DirtyJakTheDustyBean It is a spectacular area. It was our first time going to the UP National Forests and we loved it so much we went back the following weekend 😂.
@@FindingWilderness makes total sense to us, lol. That same thing kinda happened to us but was more cause where our original plans were was full.
@@DirtyJakTheDustyBean I suppose that’s all part of the adventure!
Wow. Would you be able to share the trail map?
We are pretty new to onX and did not record the route. But we started at the south end of Pictured Rock and just explored random roads going south back towards Wisconsin.
There are thousands of miles of backroads through the UP wilderness, with hundreds of small lakes, rivers and creeks. You'll find hundreds of camping spots, both national/state forest designated and just random pull offs. Get a DeLorme Atlas and/or National Forest maps pick and area and start driving. Anywhere you go in the UP you'll get his awesome scenery.
Great video! Im visiting the Apostle Islands next week and was wondering if you could tell me where those cliff jumping spots were? Were they off a trail on Madeline Island? Thank you! ❤
@@bjo5788 Absolutely! They were both on Bayview Trail in Big Bay State Park. The taller one was right off the parking lot at Point Picnic Area, the second one is south of it on the same trail. I hope you enjoy yourself. It’s a neat area!
@@FindingWilderness thank you for the reply! I can't wait to go!
Wyoming is the best state. Love going to the rodeo.
Looks like the Apostle islands are the place to go if you want to cliff jump in Wisconsin. Most parks have been prohibiting cliff jumping.
The WI State Park paperwork didn’t advertise cliff jumping, but they endorsed it so to speak as they posted a life ring buoy at each of the areas that cliff jumping occurs.
Awesome easy trail. Looks great. Thanks.
It's a simple yet rewarding trail.
What is the location?
Interlake State Recreation Area in Warrick County. Great trails, beautiful area.
