      A place is what you make it. Negative attitude = negative experience (wow, go figure). And it can't be that bad, because the population in Yuma is continuing to grow and it's being seen more and more as a weekend getaway destination. Oh, and I have seen when Yuma was bad back in the 90s. There is no comparison today of what it was back then.

    What about for military veterans? Go through VA loan, such as VeteransUnited or something? Also, even if 0 down is attractive, are there also very good reasons to put a large amount down too? If you put 10 or 20,000 down (or more), does that significantly reduce your monthly mortgage?

    I like to spend the winters in Yuma I’ve done it twice now I’m from Tennessee- I love the people there -friendly and they remind me of the locals that I live around here. There are a lot of places to buy food a little bit cheaper there as compared to where I live and I enjoy looking for some of those local greens at alternate stores and I’m not too worried about large warehouse stores like Costco and there are some Asian markets in Yuma as well. I think the topography and the local wildlife is fascinating and in general beautiful. And the beautiful mountains remind me of home in the best way and there’s nothing like the sunsets there lol. It’s been a long time since I experience western heat of the summer. I can’t make a judgment about that except everybody talks about it it must be pretty rough lol.

    The corporate researchers assume that being near the border people are not sophisticated but they are very wrong. Yuma has locals of course, but in the Winter months 80,000 Winter visitors from Canada & the N. U.S. come down. Two large military bases & a lot of well paid people in the agriculture industry. This is not like poorer parts of the border. There should be a Costco & a Trader Joe's in Yuma but corporate hasn't figured out Yuma is a very different place than other parts of the border.

    • @sheikhboyardee556
      @sheikhboyardee556 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the 1950's into the '60's very few people had air conditioning. We had a desert cooler like everyone else, but they didn't really work in the Summer. Probably a misconception is that the U.S. has always been a rich country but that's not true. Other than a hand full of rich people who exist in every country most people in the U.S. were poor until 1945. Things started getting better from then. Most everyone was like us, not much money. We all grew up somewhat poor, but we didn't know we were poor because we were much better off than our parents when they were younger. - @@joevarga5982
