We Use The Word SUCCESS All Wrong: How This Misunderstanding Creates More Suffering
The word "success" comes from the Latin word "succedere" which means "to come close after". The Latin language didn't have the "-ful" suffix, but in English that suffix means "characterized by". So successful, if broken down to it's constituent elements, means something like "characterized by that which comes close after". To make this more acceptable to you, notice how it shares the same root word as "succession". So when things happen in succession, it happens one after the other.
"Steph Curry shot 3's in succession".
That sentence isn't saying he made the shot or he missed the shot, it's simply saying he did it one after the other.
So success is about things happening one after the other (if we were to use the true definition of that word). And if we were to use the true definition of that word... then any story, which is identified as a particular sequence of events bundled together forming a narrative, then it could be viewed as successful because a story is one event happening after another; And this would be accurate to the etiological definition of the word "successful", which when broken down means something like "characterized by that which follows close after".
But that's not how we as a collective use that word.
We've bastardized the meaning of "success" and "successful" to be synonymous with "achievement" or "to conquer", but this betrays the true meaning of the word. Success from it's Latin origins isn't about a singlular moment of glory. It's not about winning and it isn't about separating yourself from others. Success by it's true definition is about what's coming next, and this definition isn't positive or negative in connotation; it applies more to a process rather than an outcome or a result.
Time doesn't move backwards, it only moves forward.
We live in the present moment and have the present moment as our vessel, sailing us from one moment to the next. One experience to the next. One lesson to the next. In a very real way, by simply living and existing, we're embodying the very spirit of success's true definition (which is defined as being characterized by that which comes close after XYZ).
Being successful isn't about something you attain, acquire or achieve, it's the nature of your very being and who you are in essence. Even in your deepest failures, your darkest moments and heaviest insecurities, when you take one breath to the next, when you choose to continue the story... you're being successful.

Me and Tyler became bestfriends when our 10th grade history teacher Mr.Gutierrez put us in a group together. That day, our group went to his house with the intentions of studying... but instead we danced in the dirt outside his house while New Boyz Jerking music blared from a speaker. From that day forward, we were inseparable. Everyone saw it and everyone knew it. The family took me in as thei...

"Like That" by Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar. Choreography by Eileen Kim. Filmed at Rüts dance studio in Koreatown. This class was a real challenge. It was my first time taking Eileen so I gave myself grace. Plus her approach to dance is very particular/specific and technically sound, on top of this routine being pretty fast hahaha. All in all it was great training! Definitely want t...

I'm going through more than I ever thought I'd have to go through in life 😞
@@AdrenaLukeYT The other day I was writing about my bestfriend and wrote "life sure is more brutal than we expected it to be when we were kids". So I feel you man. I really do.
@austinjrb but I did this to myself. I made stupid decisions. And now I've been injured for 4 months to the point I can barely walk, and I might need major surgery soon, and this is on top of me battling thoracic outlet syndrome lifelong as well...
Right now am in a bad mental space.I started having anxiety last year November after smoking a joint. From then on it has been a mental battle.
@@xcontent9203 it's definitely a challenging time we're in, so you're not alone. That's interesting though that you can pinpoint the exact moment things shifted. If I can ask, what brought you to smoking a joint last November?
F it up❤
1:16…… you're going to carry that weight.
Didn't know all this bro. but Im glad you still can bring happiness in others lives regardless of what you went through. Love Bro.
@@thatguyiskoul appreciate you so much cuzzo 🫂💯 love always always
Also, even lost people can help in telling you what NOT to do or go!
@@nurseasb I like that, very true ❤️
Wow! Wonderful insights. I believe in failure, there’s room to learn and grow. It’s where we test limitations and boundaries. Everyone matter! Everyone has a life journey and your journey will be different from mine. Moments of darkness are temporary. Even flowers 💐 need both rain and sunshine to grow. Keep moving forward 😊❤
Better than that aussie breakdancer
matter fact… where everybody from? 👀
I just read the description, and that’s absolutely adorable. I think sometimes moments like that make us realize how much the simplest things in our lives are worth so much more than we know as not everyone has such a luxury. That was the sweetest thing I have ever read 😭
This is so good what the heck😭😭 this song is my favorite and you did it justice! Keep it up :)

Why was Meryl not willing to say anything else to him?
In the original, Milly urges Meryl to tell Vash she has feelings for him. I'm not completely sure why she doesn't, but let's just say neither of them are particularly good at this, lol. They're both kinda bad at feelings.
Ultimately, fear of rejection. Meryl puts up a tough front to protect herself from rejection. Almost like Helga in "Hey Arnold".
Meryl looks so sad when she’s being shaken by Millie.
