Si per te l'amato figlio
vendicato regnerà.

Lost 18th-century gem by Gatti [world premiere]! (Daniel Behle, tenor)
Raydel Martinez y Diaz, musicological historian researcher curated an unprecedented programme for famous tenor Daniel Behle exploring the forgotten, unjustly neglected contemporaries of Mozart! Luigi Gatti (October 7, 1740 - March 1, 1817). It features virtuosic fanfares and concertante obbligati written for the natural horns. Here is a rediscovered gem composed for famous virtuoso tenor Giacom...
'castrato' bravura from Traetta's 'Sofonisba' [1762, Mannheim]
Italian soprano Raffaella Milanesi sings live, accompanied by the period ensemble 'Les Talens Lyriques' conducted by founder Christophe Rousset, in October 2003, Paris; listen to a spectacular 18th-century bravura aria written for the soprano castrato Lorenzo Tonarelli, who rendered the supporting primo uomo role of King Massinissa of Numidia in Tommaso Traetta's opera seria 'Sofonisba' (Novemb...
'Il Medonte' [1780, Roma] castrato bravura aria; by: Josef Mysliveček (1737-1781)
The music was written by the famous Czech composer Josef Mysliveček (1737, Prague - 1781, Rome), was mentioned more than any other contemporary in W.A. Mozart's letters - who expressed admiration for the stylistic/compositional model of "Boemo" (his stage pseudonym). In this modern world premiere performance/recording, German soprano Susanne Bernhard sings a rousingly spectacular bravura aria: ...
Ann Hallenberg sings Farinelli's ultimate bravura aria!
the amazing Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg sings an operatic aria: 'Amor, dover, rispetto' - written specifically for the legendary vocal talent of the famous 18th-century soprano castrato singer Carlo Broschi better known by stage pseudonym 'Farinelli' (1705 -1782) composed by Franceso Maria Veracini (1690-1768), a most techically demanding virtuosic bravura for both singer & orchestra, ...
Bravo!!!👏👏
Very good, thanks a lot
❤
Music…must enjoyable .💖❤brilliant song & great bassoon song marvellously by a Lady !
Music…must enjoyable .💖❤
Bravissimi!
The bassoon sounds at times more like a saxophone. I'm wondering if there are similarities between this period instrument and the modern saxophone that contribute to its unique timbre.
Fantastic
Bravo Behle!
The more often I listen to it, the more I love it. I can't decide whether I prefer this version or the other. Probably this one? The singing is simply sublime. It was as if Mr Behle was created in a lab for this kind of arias.
ARCHIVIRTUOSA!!!ESPLENDOROSA VOZ!!!!SUPERLATIVA BELLEZA!!!!! SRA HALLEMBERG,NO HAY MODO DE AGRADECER SU GENIO INTERPRETATIVO!!!!!
Thanks for sharing, this is an exquisite aria and easily on par with Mysliveček's horn bravura arias.
Felt to me like a very successful 1st attempt into a bravura-for-all Gatti's outpouring of virtuosity. I have to wonder how these musicians & singer would ripen into the piece, because it could turn out a hit gem!
bellissima
Thanks for the "rediscovery". The tenor and two horns "trio" is truly amazing. This beautiful emsemble reminds me of a similar emsemble at a Munich church years ago. (Horns, strings and harpsichord....)
Hi thanks. Sounds a little like leopold mozart. Shame it was lost so many years ago. Its nice to give it a new life. Thanks everyone.
Leopold is not known to have ever composed something remotely similar in quality to this aria, in fact Archbishop Colloredo at Salzburg hired composer and priest Luigi Gatti - and Leopold envied him for this preferential inconvenience as he wanted the kapellmeister position at Salzburg but he and his son Wolfgang will you know both expelled from the court of Salzburg and went on to work elsewhere. So now you are aware of the historical context and to even remotely associate Gatti's style with that of lackluster Leopold as insulting than a fair comparison. Haha either way I'll take your comment as an attempt at being complimentary and I appreciate it - just as a specialist I find it my due to clarify things at times jeje thanks 😉
@raymartinez4500 thanks. No offence taken and I appreciate your work. Keep doing what your doing.
Gatti quality is closer in style to that of his contemporaries: Anfossi, Paisiello, Monza, Gazzaniga, J.C. Bach, Mysliveček.
Myslevecek was dying of tertiary syphillis at the time he compos’d his final opera Medonte-what a trooper to keep working when doctors were gradually removing the skin lesions off his face - and his nose was ‘as good as gone’ too according to Mozart who visited him in 1777 in a Munich hospice (the two became fast friends in Naples in 1770 & Mozart was agog with his music using it as his main operatic ‘stile’ along with the operatic style of J.C. Bach) he finally succumbed to the disease dying all alone in a monastery hospital bed in Rome in 1781-what a loss to the world of music when he died with a head full of beautiful Melodies-as Mozart was to do only ten years later … just think what could have come from both these great men’s pens if they had lived into the 1830s !!
Grande il Boemo!!! Bravissima soprano!!
Bellissima Raffaella Milanesi ❤

An sonado dos notas.Y me he puesto en pie....
Un instrumento su voz. Templado y poderoso!
Una diva de oro...
A Bravura aria is supposed to elicit a 'bravo' response from the audience. I say: "Bravíssimi.!" So very well executed. I want to hear this singer singing Fiordiligi.
Carlo Broschi would be very proud of you Ms. Ann Hallenberg!
Does someone know where I can find partiture of this opera?
Fabulosa. BRAVISIMA 👌👏👏👏
Exsultate Jubilate...clear where the young Mozart picked up some ideas. Wonderful singing!
Brava!!!!
This is absolutely stellar, thanks so much for the upload!!!
Titan! 💪
bravissimo😍😍
Per aspera Ad astra
My mind cannot believe what my ears hear!
Traetta's son migrated to the USA and his descendants live there today -I think that son was a composer of marches and things like that.
