My brother & I was floating around the Montour yard on a railroad Tye during the 72 flood . the water was just over the trucks on the hopper cars . I also remember the railroad parking loaded hoppers on their bridges so they would not wash away . it is hard to imagine the Montour not being there any more . I had an Uncle that worked in the shops . very fond memories. the smell of kerosene and oil . the sounds of engines throttling up and wheels squealing .
