    The rd.break technique only worked when I did Server with GUI Install for RHEL 9.4. In one of Sander's video courses, he has you do a Minimal Server Install and the rd.break technique did not work for RHEL 9.4. So, I had to use the init=/bin/bash to recover the root password on minimal install servers. I caught on later that Sander had you do the Minimal Server Install so you won't freak out about troubleshooting during the exam because you literally have to install everything before you can complete any of his practice exam questions. Anyway, good video....

    Lovely Video and good description of your study process. I just passed my Security + last October and I plan to write the CompTIA Linux + Beta Exam first since its just 50 euros and use that' as a building block in writing my RHCSA exam in December. Do you feel that's a good move?

    thanks for sharing your ideas. Can you tell me pls how often did you repeat the chapters within the 3 months preparation time? So eg. you are through the containers chapter, and continue on with the next topic. How many times did you repeat it to memorize it, just once? Of course this is surely different from one to another person, so I'm sure you came back to the container chapter later on again, did you? Or did you train each chapter just once? I've doubts that after let's say 2 month I still can remember the details of something I've learned before..but that be very personal

    • @josesosa1017
      @josesosa1017 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would only go back to chapters after testing myself using a practice question/task. So, let's say I did a practice task on containers. Let's say, I remember some podman commands and get the container running but forget how to persistently mount storage. Then I would just review that portion of the chapter. Then I would learn how to do it with the book then without the book. And repeat until i can do the whole task without the book and utilizing man pages or other internal tools.

    You could use the `-br[ief]` flag along with the `-4` flag to get one line with just the info you need limited to ipv4: `ip -br -4 address` If you know the interface name you can also get only a single line: `ip -br -4 address show eth0 # or whatever it is` You could directly pipe that into awk to only get the address

    in command mode in vi (or vim) just type !! at the second exclamation point you'll be a special ! prompt where you could type ip a | grep inet. I seem to recall that this worked before :r knew to do something other than read files. The reason this might be more useful is the second character doesn't need to be a ! it can be other "addresses". So for example you can type !} ip a | grep inet. That will replace the current line up until the next blank line with the output of your command since } means "the next blank line". If the second character is ! in means replace the current line.
