Nah, the classic gb animations weren't this choppy. Iirc they were pretty close to the ones we have today, just without the smoother arm movements and alot more blood and iron'ey.
As a veteran g&b player, I confirm this. The animations is close as the modern g&b animation, just without proper walking animation.

I’ve only beaten this map 4 times. You have to get really lucky with these servers because you’re either paired with players who actually have a functioning brain, or you’re paired with a bunch of new players that have no idea what they’re doing.
Same, it’s nearly all teamwork to win in all freaking map
I only play hardcore nowadays bcs no one in the normal mode can even beat vardohuss fortress like what the fuck happened to the players
