Thanks for uploading. It didn't appear to cause any danger, but I would be REALLY frustrated if my cab was not stuck in solid traffic, but it was still quicker to walk to my destination. Waymo has celebrated 10million miles of autonymous driving. I wonder how many of those are an experience that's a long way below the service level that the passenger imagined?
Quite a few. And you can always end the ride, and step out if you're in stopped traffic. Just like regular Taxi or Uber. I've been very happy with the experience so far. Try it if you get a chance.
@@turnthelens Thanks. I am not a luddite, but perhaps more cautious than I should be. (I did try to phrase it so that I had an answer for how many were sub-expectation. But "quite a few" seems positive. Unless you mean that passengers frequently have to abort the journey? But saying that you have been very happy so far is good to know.) 🙂.
@@JohnPreston888 > feels much safer and ‘boring’ in a good way than people drivers. Actually obeys traffic laws. Speed limits, stop signs. And remember, they can see all ways at the same thing. Follow the link and check out the full ride the first time. I started filming my second ride, but was so boring and uneventful, I stopped. Until we can onto the emergency vehicles and I was curious about how it was going to solve the problem.
Sorry but I don’t understand what this video is about. Kinda starts abruptly
Hard to fit in 60 seconds. May I recommend the longer clip. th-cam.com/video/1zp06qPAefI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TurntheLenswithJeffFrick
This makes so much sense, my husband would happily work 4 10 hour days to have either Friday or Monday day off. He is in the financial sector, and Fridays are pretty light, even if he could work 4 hours on Friday, he’d feel appreciated and heard.
Right?
Awesome Your Content
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Great clip! Thanks, Jeff!
Touched a nerve for sure.
All these idiots think that anything with an "e" in front of it means it's saving the environment. The batteries in eBikes are NOT environmentally friendly. Do you know what is environmentally friendly? Pedal bicycles that have been around for 200 years!
Stop worrying about other people and do what is productive. If it works, let others be.
Very nice and interesting video, thanks Jeff! After following the autonomous development for more than 10 years, it is fascinating to see it now, as a public service, from a passenger view. But many cities see a large risk that low cost Robotaxi rides will increase the traffic congestions. On the other hand, RoboStaxi (Robo-Shared-taxi) can replace many cars and actually reduce the traffic. Oslo in Norway plans for a 50% reduction of cars with 20 000 Shared Autonomous Vehicles to 2030. Cities may very well have to limit the use of Robotaxi and only allow RoboStaxi. Then the next problem needs a solution, will all passengers feel safe and comfortable with sharing rides with strangers in an open cabin RoboStaxi, like Waymo Zeekr M-Vision, Cruise Origin, NEVS Sango or Zoox? Studies and research indicates problems with "Sharing Anxiety" and Sense of safety. I saw the problem and found a solution 10 years ago: Individual and exchangeable cabins, patent was granted in 2018. The CabiBUS vehicle can also be used for last miles deliveries with parcel cabins, increasing sustainability and economy. www.cabibus.com

Our pleasure. Great episode.
😢😢😢😂😂
Do you know that real work requires you to physically be there. You can't shovel out a ditch on the side of a road two miles away by setting in your room and playing office boy. Without real physical work being done by real men you guys would shrivel up and waste away. Why are you paid so much and real people that keep you alive with real things produced with their real bodies paid so little. You guys set around and think about how to creep in and steal from us? Sorry guy, you may be ok. It just made me think about such things. I understand that at times white collar jobs play a part in making the cogs turn. Being home with the family can be nice .
Good to be thoughtful. Not sure the numbers but people who work with keyboards probably outnumber those slinging shovels these days.
