Lazy Lester (aka Leslie Johnson) has been called a "National Treasure," the "High Sheriff of Louisiana" and "a nut." As one of the key creators of the South Louisiana swamp blues sound in the 1950s, Lester has been often imitated but never duplicated. Blues fans worldwide prize his early singles on the Excello label that were recorded in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Louisiana Bayou Blues
The Adventures of Prince Achmed, often cited as the first feature film made entirely in stop motion. Kudos to the direction of Lotte Reiniger and everyone involved!
I always found Surf Rock to be so contradictory in nature. The genre was created for the purpose of having a good time, relaxing at the beach and surfing with the boys, yet it's mostly used in spaghetti westerns or crime thrillers like Pulp Fiction. I suppose one could make the argument that these shows also show a "good time with the boys", but that is the furthest from the iconic image of a bunch of blonde boys at the beach. All I can think of when I hear this song is Clint Eastwood starring down Lee van Cleef.

I'm 69 years old now. For years I wondered how to find this animation. When I was little in the mid to late 1950's, I saw this on early morning television and I remembered it really spooked me. Now I found it!

Where I live we have a tv channel 11 and 12. On Saturday night you don't know what they're going to show! Old horror movies, old comedys. It's an Access Channel.. They showed this and I enjoyed the Prince Achmed film! Sometimes the channel shows Psychedelic Tv weird visuals....

Actually there were two prior by Quirino Cristiani but they no longer exist. This is the oldest SURVIVING. Snow White is the first cel feature length

This was recorded in 1961 or 62, remember these musicians were in their late teens/early 20s. Listen to the way the sax solo is played with such feeling, just incredible.
