This is another segment from the tribute compilation done by ESPN Classic Canada, It features the 1975 Skate Canada SP, with which most fans of Toller are familiar; and the first of an extraordinary set of performances from the 1975 Skate Canada Gala. This beautiful performance "Loneliness of War" was skated shortly after the Olympics. It is sublime, and I find myself wishing that he had used this piece in Innsbruck. Everything that makes Toller unique is displayed here!

This lovely performance to "Waltz Treste" was skated TWICE due to a problem with his music. That he could skate so beautifully, speaks to his conditioning, discipline, and resolve! With his own commentary, for Canadian TV. That he had to repeat the performance, was never mentioned on the versions shown in other countries.

A beautiful, "late-period" performance to "Vienna, My City of Dreams". I love the overhead camerawork!

Toller Cranston portrayed Tybalt in the award-winning on-ice adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet". I've always thought of Toller's portrayal of Tybalt's death as "ultimate Toller". It is magnificent and thrilling; and only he could have skated this!

This is one of my favorite "late-period" Toller performances. He was 45 here! This is another iconic program from his repetoire: "Toller's Tango". I think that the program dates from as early as 1977. His interpretive skills and intensity are unmatched, even now! Note how he plans the placement of the elements in this program to reflect the fact that the cameras are at one end of the ice.

One of Toller's best performances of one of his iconic programs: "The Firebird", at the 1983 International Professional Figure Skating Championships, held at Madison Square Garden, NYC.

The annual benefit show held at Harvard University, where Toller often appeared. He performed three exhibitions in this clip, including some of the material most identified with him.
