IT'S FINALLY HERE | First Flight BAC Strikemaster
มุมมอง 1.3K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
IT'S FINALLY HERE! After being stuck in Illinois for a year because of flights being scrubbed due to inclement weather and mechanical issues, I finally got to take my first official flight in the BAC Strikemaster. This is the last leg of the journey from Ocala to Sarasota, Florida. Up to this point, Rich has been the pilot for all previous legs of the flight. We took off from Ocala Internationa...

That is going to be a pretty nice toy, but always fly smart and don’t hesitate to scrub a flight if there are any issues. I’ll bet you had fun dropping in to some of the lesser known airports, that was always fun when flying something not commonly seen in the pattern!👍🏼👍🏼
Very cool
LOVED this video. Great sound track also!
Thank you! My daughter edits these for me, and she really appreciates it.
Gorgeous
@johnlang150 0 seconds ago Can someone tell me the difference between this AC and th CT-114 Tutors I guess flown by the snowbirds , they look EXACTLY the same training side-by-side AC. Is it just a different name between USA and Canada???
Entirely different aircraft. The CT-114 is not derived from the Jet Provost (from which the Strikemaster is derived) design at all. Different shape, look at the nose, intakes, wings and empennage.
100% Thanks! @UisgeBeathaMountain
There is a lot of similarities on the surface between airplanes like the Strikemaster, A-37 Dragonfly, and other Warbirds that were derived from a trainer. The T-33 is basically a 2-seat F-80. When I started getting into Warbirds, I spend a lot of time on Wikipedia comparing and contrasting similar Jet Warbirds. When you read about Warbirds on Wikipedia, at the end of the article it offers similar aircraft. So it allows you to toggle back and forth and learn different specifications. That's been really helpful in my case. Thanks for asking.
Nice looking Strikemaster. Known in most of the British Commonwealth Air Forces as a Blunty! Nice fun and simple jet to fly. Enjoy!
Thank you for your comment. So far it is a blast, and having a lot of fun with it.
Today I am watching from a much cooler location in Cape Cod, MA. Congratulations on a great video production Tony, Jacquelyn, & Crew! Strikemaster welcome to your home at KSRQ ✈️👍🏽😀
Thank you Phil! Glad to hear you're beating the heat in Cape Cod. I'm sure it is a much needed break 👍😎 Have fun and take it easy -
Flaps at Take Off, easier to get onto the wing. 2155 lbs fuel in the wing plus 700 in the tips, hour to hour and a half range. When we towed them we always had someone in the cockpit on brakes. Something wrong wuth the canopy. You can either motor it up and down ir pull the handle to disengage the drive mech anism and the spring pulls it up, unless you have let the spring unwind.
Appreciate the info! We are working on the cockpit right now, which is why we are opening it manually for the time being. Thanks for joining us here on the channel.
@AirtimeTony I work on them for four years as an Airframe Mechanic in case you have any queries
Looks like you have the traditional strike master sticking canopy! Nice toy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁
Thanks, yeah, we are having a lot of fun with it 👍
you have the heart of Fred Daum. glad you could fulfill your dreams
Thanks, I appreciate that. From what I have been told by the family about Fred, I've heard I'm similar in the sense that we both wanted to fly. It's not something we were taught, just something we wanted to do... I'm glad that my son is currently pursuing his private pilot license too. Thanks so much. 😁
Nice frunk..
Haha thanks 😂👍
Enjoy. It looks like a great, fun project!
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!
Thanks Crystal!
Love this!!!!
Thanks Josh 😎
so cool
86 the music I just want to hear the Piaggio and interior noise levels.
Got it, will do for next time, thanks for the feedback 👍😎
The P.180 is such a beautiful and unique airplane! Good luck with the project!
Thanks, we're having fun with it!
My war thunder brain: OVERLOAD 29G WOOOP WOOOP OVER G *pancakes into runway*
Wow, I had seen this plane around Dolphin and I've always wanted to know the story behind it, and here's the exact video I always wanted. Seeing the old hangars was a blast from the past!
Living the dream ! I totally understand. Picked up a VodoChody L-39 two years ago
Looks good.
On airplane ✈️ one coat weighs 1000 ( one thousand pounds). Drag. That's why AA American air used to leave the silvertone no paint except the red white and blue stripes.
Nice job. I painted cars for a garage and joined USAF & ended up painting a C- 141 B in 6 hours.2 coats.white Someone else completed the bottom half in grey. 1980.
Wow, that is a BIG job! That's awesome -
U suck at life
Same as a car.... now has 20 lbs of paint not needed and cost fuel economies.
Absolutely right, in this case fuel economy wasn't a huge concern when I painted the Yak. I take a different approach for other aircraft. Thank you for your comment! 👍

Excellent video Tony and Jacquelyn! I really enjoyed learning more about your YAK54’s unique paint scheme and the detailed design and work that went into it. 👍🏽✈️
Thanks Phil! Jac and I really appreciate it -
It's a beautiful bird in person too. That red really stands out.
drone racing is fun
Yes, it is!
Im sold were do i sign?
I feel like the barriers of entry jump up quite a bit going from a drone to a “small but still exhilarating airplane”
Fair statement. Aviation definitely is not inexpensive. However, there are ways to get involved. Discovery flights are often affordable. You can also join a chapter of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) or the Civil Air Patrol. These organizations can give you access to pilots, aircraft, and flight opportunities. Check 'em out + thanks for the comment.
This man exudes passion and excitement talking about flying, and I’m here for it
This is one of the nicest comments I've had since starting the channel. Thank you! I can't remember a time when I wasn't excited about aviation.
Once you take a flight you're hooked 😂
Take a discovery flight, discover you don't have the money for this shit even when you're making 100k a year.
Would love too. Very Expensive and its not in my budget. Sorry
Happy to say I made it out to the airshow. They really went all out this year for the 50th!
Great hearing your story Phil. This makes me want to get more airtime! lol
Pasta Rocket lol
Love it!

🦁🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹 ROAR!!!!!!!
What a fitting tribute to Lou ❤
Main fuel tanks 2,155 lbs, plus 350 lbs in each tip tank. Good for what, an hour and a half at a push?
Just about an hour and a half, with reserves
One of the first military jets I ever saw in the sky was an RNZAF Strikemaster! Hello from NZ.
That's awesome. I've been to NZ twice now - wonderful country!
Looks like a fun project!
It was, but it certainly had its challenges. Thank you for your comment.
Bravo.go ahead
Bravo.perfect. go ahead
With the Piaggio, do you find yourself wiping down the blades and stuff after each flight? Always been curious about that with its pusher configuration. I REALLY want one. My #1 plane if I could ever achieve the success necessary to acquire one.
Yes! I find that it is very important. Its one of those things that if you stay up on it, your blades stay nice. And if you don't, you loose the nice look very quickly - and it is tough to get it back.
@@AirtimeTony Good to know! Thank you so much for responding! Keep up the good work and stay safe out there!
I like your enthusiam.❤
Congratulations Tony...there is one for sale on Trade-a-plane. Do you have an opinion on that one?
Be aware, there are very few Strikemasters left flying. Parts can be tough to find. Make sure it is flight ready before you buy it. Dont recommend a project. Wishing you the best.
Thanks Tony....I don't think I'll go that direction. I've got my hands full with a Beech 18 at the moment. I like the classic military jets and I flew several when active duty but the maintenance is scary. Thanks again.@@AirtimeTony
