Safe Life Defense Tactical Uniform Carrier | Unboxing & Initial Impressions
Initial impressions on the Tactical Uniform Carrier by Safe Life Defense.
.
Just got this carrier and armor as I'm transitioning to a different department. I'm 6'0, about 220 pounds and ordered a size large in black with level IIIA+ armor inserts. For specs check out Safe Life Defense's website.
.
Any questions feel free to ask. I may do an update in the future showing it fully loaded with my gear and then a status update after some time has passed while wearing it as a full time police officer.

What color is that?
@@nicholepiquette2374 black.
Thank you im getting it
They do make the 3A+ sife panel and I highly recommend
I do have that now. It'll be in the update video, whenever that is.
The best video on the use-tube for this comparison thank you
Woah
Shit my muzzle brake has less flash than that can
I just ordered mine. Same one but I was told the size chart they use is inaccurate so fingers crossed I guessed Right .
Just over 2 years...how's it holding up?
Holding up well besides some wear and tear where it rubs against a rifle mag every day. I keep putting off that video. I'll get to it eventually.
@@TantoBrownBearI've worn it as security patrol for about a year myself. held up not bad. no buttons have popped off or anything and that center pocket is a life saver for my work phone, constantly pulling it out and putting it awayfor work duties. breast pockets are about what you'd expect on a uniform shirt, if not a tad smaller.
Get the side armor
I have it. Just didn't have it in the video.
Just curious what ammo was this? I'm curious how a ammo that is flash suppressant would do like gold dot
This was absolute junk steel cased stuff. So I'm sure it would be even more impressive with better ammo.
@@TantoBrownBear thanks dude
It has been one year, I request the update video.
Wow, night and day difference!
Yhea, without the FH it's completely stupid, more flash than a lantac dragon brake
What’s the verdict on this?
I'll be making the follow up video soon. To make it short and sweet: Pros: Adjustable size and nice fit, comfort, clean appearance. Cons: No pouch for higher level trauma plate, chest pockets are very tight (only going to be able to fit notebook or business cards), I wouldn't mind a little more molle in strategic areas, and I'm having some wear where it comes into contact with my rifle mag. Overall it gets a pass, but there are some changes I'd make if it were up to me and some features I've had in past vests that I missed with this option. I'll go into deeper detail in the video.
How much is this vest
Check their website for options and updated prices. Just look up safe life defense and you'll find them.
is that the NAVY BLUE or the MIDNIGHT BLUE color?
That's the black one.
Waiting on my stamp for my S. A little bummed to see how much flash there is. Definitely an improvement with the 5.56 end cap, but not what I was hoping for.
Yeah it's also gonna depend on other factors. But with my set up, it's not even an option to go without the flash hider end cap.
It’s been a year show how it’s set up sbd how it held up
Yep, gonna do that soon 👍
Super helpful. Thanks
Is this on a sandman k?
yessir.
Is it 10x12 capable
Per their website it is, but I haven't fit tested any other soft armor or plates besides their own.
Do you recommend the e brake ?
Yep. I'd check out Sage Dynamics' video on it if you haven't already.
You try this on the 13.7 you got?
Yessir. Haven't taken videos yet for a comparison.
@@TantoBrownBear handles flash good?
@@functioningbroken3497 haven't had a chance for a night shoot yet. When I do I'll get a video up if you wanna see it.
@@TantoBrownBear definitely got the same upper and looking at dead air sandman
I’m so glad I found this thank you very much. Would also love to see an e brake with all the endcaps if that’s an option for you. Just bought a sandman s for my 12.5 556
I have the e-brake now, and I can upload a video with it paired with the flash hider end cap sometime. I probably won't do it with every end cap though as it seems that the flash hider end cap is the obvious choice for me. Thanks man.
@@TantoBrownBear would love to see that comparison.
@@TantoBrownBear did you still plan on doing a comparison? I’m about to buy my first can for my 12.5 and I’m honestly torn between the rc2 556 and the sandman s. My main concern is muzzle flash, if you do the comparison could you show the difference with e brake with 30 cap and e brake with 556 cap? I’ve had a lot of people tell me to go 30 for my first can. Which one would you recommend?
@@dragon3allzdeep325 well I only have the Sandman K so my video won't really be much of a help to you. All I can say for sure for you is that if you get any Sandman, get the flash hider end cap. The difference between the 5.56 and 30 cal end caps wasn't big enough to justify paying extra in my experience. The plain 5.56 end cap seems pointless to me when the flash hider exists, but everyone has different uses in mind. I've only had the Sandman K so I can't recommend one over the other.
@@TantoBrownBear ahh gotcha. In your experience does their seem to be a huge difference in muzzle flash between dedicated 556 cans and 30 cal cans with 556 ends?
I would like to your setup. Maybe I second video!
Hey is there anyway you can do the same test but using the muzzle break and then the flash hider
Muzzle brake that threads to the barrel or the brake cap on the suppressor?
@@TantoBrownBear threads to the barrel
@@seanrodriguez2384 I don't have the muzzle brake for the barrel, also my flash hider is pinned and welded. Sorry brotha.
@@TantoBrownBear its all good, great video tho
I drink Black Out coffee because it supports 2A!
So you can’t insert plates into the Uniform vest?
When you say plates do you mean a smaller hard plate?
@@TantoBrownBear Yes like level 4 ceramic plates or even The FRAS soft armor plates
@@XCaPTainClipzX nope, no slot for a hard plate. If you wanted to be able to insert a rifle rated plate, you'd need to get an additional slot sewn into the carrier.
does it have a slot to put a trauma plate?
Nope, one of the downsides. You'd have to get one sewn in.
What color is this?
I got the black one.
Just got one, same style uniform carrier with molle. How is it working out with pouches and tazer attached? Thanks!
As of yet I haven't had a shift with it. I attached the taser mount, radio pouch and admin pouch. Once it's all set up and I get some time with it, I'll update. Feels good though
I have the LVL 3A+ one. I have a radio pouch, a utility pouch, flashlight pouch, mace pouch, and mag pouches attached to mine. The pockets are tiny, hence the utility pouch for notebook, phone and such. Love mine. Very comfy.
This man is a legend, instant follow!
Wondering why they dont ship with them. Another $200... in end caps
Yep. Sadly they got me. Just ordered both
Nice
Thanks for the video! I have a radian 14.5 with dead air flash hider pin and welded. Same as you, wanted k for the 14.5, and S for the shorty 300b. Since the 14.5 is my primary, was happy with the flash suppression, but wanted to get the k with flash hider cap and e break. Do you fill the flash is more with the can and the cap vs no suppressor at all?
I didnt test or record the gun firing with just the flash hider for comparison. I do know that I've never had noticeable flash from behind the gun in low light with either the flash hider by itself or with the suppressor with the flash hider end cap.
Tyler Meshigaud awesome, thanks for the quick response!!
That is a massive different enough to warrant the price for what you're getting. You can also tell the DB difference on camera between the 30 cal 0:01 and 556 flash hider 0:22.
There may be a slight difference caught for sure, when you're behind the gun you can't tell. Thanks 👍
@@TantoBrownBear I believe it would balance out to the shooter. Less gas being dispersed at the cap probably means more gas at the ejection port.
If you did it all over again would you still go with the K or chose the S?
I think you have to take everything into consideration. I have two BCM uppers, an 11.5 and a 14.5. My 14.5 I use at work and wouldn't want the S on it. I do now want an S for my 11.5 for home defense or range time. All depends on the setup you're going for man! Different cans for different jobs / guns.
Straight to the point !
Awesome video thanks. So that was on a 14.5" gun?
Correct. 14.5 with dead air's flash hider pinned and welded.
Thanks for the vid. My sandman L on my 10.5 blkout sounds like a staple gun. Im left handed and the gas isn't even noticable. I'll post a vid soon
Thanks for checking out the video! I'm sure that setup is Hollywood quiet
@@TantoBrownBear just got it about 3 weeks ago after a depressing 10 month wait. Very happy with my decision. Can't wait to receive my order of brakes to hear it on a Grendel and a 308. Thanks again sir
First.
