An American Werewolf in London Film Locations Visit
A bit of a nerdy visit to a couple of film locations for the American Werewolf in London. Always been a big fan of the 1981 film and was chuffed to finally see them.

Star Trail Timelapse Experiment Second Attempt Using A Nikon Coolpix S9900
มุมมอง 1078 ปีที่แล้ว
A second attempt at a star trail time lapse, I located Polaris using an app on my phone and attempted to have it in the corner of the shot but just missed it. The time lapse option on the camera is limited to a 2 and a half hour shoot which doesn`t give enough seconds of footage in my opinion. The Nikon S9900 has just enough power in a full charge to do the complete film.

Capel Celyn drowned Welsh village filmed mid 1990`s
As a Welshman I find it disgusting that people are a little too short sighted to see or understand that the people in nearby lowlands will need drinking water. There has to be a point where this sorts of rhetoric is let lie. Some of the comments are quite absurd. Government failings have led to wales not gaining from the requirements of our water. I thank them for that requirement, my home of north wales has beautiful lakes and reservoirs because of it.
@0:42 you can see the foundation of the church and the walled cemetery with concrete poured over it's entirety. If the bodies were moved, why did they pour a cement pad over it?
8 bodies were moved, the rest were left in situ and concreted over. I believe the headstones were relocated to the memorial church built nearby using some of the stone from the original chapel.
Cofia Dryweryn!
😂😂😂😂
My ideal vogue has a stainless steel heat exchanger. You get what you pay for.
Cofiwch Dryweryn! England had no right to take and destroy a traditional Welsh community for their own greed, pretty sure they wouldn't like it if Wales done the same!
What a bloody disgrace! Only independence can begin to rectify the injustice to our countrymen, women and children. This notorious example and the corporate manslaughter of Aberfan must never be forgotten.
You’re joking right? Independence? Only a fool could think we could be an independent country. Absolutely foolish. I could get on board if I didn’t read and have a realistic grasp of reality. I love wales and am a proud Welshman but independence is really retarded. Just take a look at what dripford has done so far 🤦♂️🤣

Ideal aluminium heat exchangers are the biggest rip off I have EVER come across.
Forty years after this shameful destroying of a Welsh speaking community Liverpool City Council 'apologised' for the scandalous pointless as it turned out pursuance of this 'vanity' project. A fat lot of use an apology meant.
These reservoirs gave clean fresh drinking water to millions - hardly a 'vanity' project.
Totally agree with you producing fresh water to people is not vanity
@@jenniferjones188 Acknowledged but it was water not needed by the Liverpool Corporation for the city but to sell on.
Boris favours tat kind of empty apology. Insult to injury.
@@blackporscheroadster6415 The water was stolen from Wales, it wasn't ours to take. It was never actually needed as things turned out, so this beautiful Welsh village was destroyed for nothing. As an Englishman, I am deeply ashamed that we allowed this to happen in our name, and so should you be. The Welsh people deserved better.
People wonder why we hate the English. Almost a 1000 years we've been shit on by them but none of this is taught in education which is why you get some uneducated welsh people that will say we don't hate them.
I have a Ideal Logic Heat 30kw boiler 9 years old and serviced and new sump fitted 5 weeks ago as seals were faulty, leaking water and gas. The boiler is making swishing noise since then which engineer stated is coming from heat exchanger. Boiler is serviced every year. He opened up the exchanger and said it had an internal leak. He ran water through to clean again.. Water is coming out of the exchanger through sump tank outlet. Boiler is working well otherwise and heating radiators perfect. I hand the whole system and boiler flushed professionally last week. But swishing noise is still present.
Draught in the 1990's or mismanagement of water?
Very good question, it was a hot year but you never know what goes on behind the scenes

I'm currently producing a non profit documentary on the history of Capel Celyn and how the flooding has shaped Wales as a nation. I spent a lot of time there in the summer while the water levels were low and I found it to be an incredibly sobering experience. I was wondering would it be possible to use some of your footage for our documentary? Full credit to you of course :).
O my god let me guess this is at 12 apostles great ocean rd yeah
I am also having to top up my Ideal logic 30 boiler because of pressure loss..sometimes it is fine for weeks & weeks then pressure will suddenly drop..the boiler was installed in 2014.
Great set up,and so glad to see the problem visually.been refilling my boiler like a mad man, more recently 3 time a day.also had the expansion tank replaced and checked the radiotors 1000 times for leaks.but now I know 👍
Same happened to Derwent and Mardale Green in Cumbria. Very sad.
Very sad, but that was to serve the needs of the same nation. Capel Celyn, a Welsh village, was drowned to serve the English.

Hi JBRebel, thanks for posting this as it's very helpful. I developed Dupuytrens on both of my hands 2 years ago and my middle fingers now look about as bent as yours did before the procedure. I've been doing so much research on the subject recently as I feel that I now need some treatment, but I understand that about 50% of people who have the needle treatment, have the the condition return within 3 years. I'm curious to hear how you're doing, as I think it's been almost 2 years since you had the procedure done? Thanks very much, Michael
Hi Michael, thank you for your interest. Yes, mine contracted back quite quickly after the procedure (12 months) and is now worse than it was before. It has now crept down the connecting tissue between the thumb and first finger so i can barely open my hand more than 2 inches. I am having a new treatment next month where they inject a collagenase enzyme into the cords, bandage the hand up for 2 days for it to work its `magic` and then manipulate the fingers straight 2 days later. I feel that the first treatment aggravated the Dupuytrens and made it more aggressive but thats my personal opinion. Have you been advised if there is anything that causes or accelerates this condition other than it being hereditary? cheers
Hi JBRebel thanks for replying to my message and sorry for the delay in responding. I’m really sorry to hear that your condition has worsened since the initial treatment. I’ve read so much on Dupuytrens over the last couple of years and one theme that comes up frequently is that it is very likely that it will reoccur after treatment. I’ve also read that a few people feel that treatment actually caused the condition to accelerate or ‘waken up’ elsewhere, just as you suggested, which is just a horrible thought, although like you, the people that felt this had of course no proof, it was just their gut feel. I actually have two friends who have Dupuytrens and one of them had the same needle treatment as you, just over 1 year ago and so far, it’s not come back. Another friend had the full operation on one hand around 4 years ago and the collagenase enzyme injection in the other hand around 2 years ago. She’s very happy with the results and again it’s not come back. The only point to make about both of these people is that they are quite a bit older than me. I’m 50 and they are both in their early 70’s and I was just wondering if there could be a link here in that I know that some illnesses progress more slowly in older people, although of course this is possibly not the case with Dupuytrens. I mention this as you look quite young from your youtube photo. I was going to look into the needle treatment now, however based on what you’ve said, I think that I’ll delay it a bit longer as I can still function well with my hands and even though I completely accept that I could have a different result to you, I just feel it’s possibly safer not to do anything until I really have to. I’ve heard good things about the collagenase enzyme injection’s and I wish you the very best of success with this procedure. If you don’t mind, I’d really like to stay in touch with you, as one of us might have some success with something in the future that could be useful for other. Information is power!!! Feel free to drop me an email directly over to - mt at michaeltiernan dot com - anytime. Thanks, Michael
Hi Michael, just a quick update (your website seems to be non accessible). I have had the collaganese treatment this week. On Monday they injected an enzyme called Xiapex directly into the affected contraction (middle finger on my left hand) which was excruciating as no local anaesthetic was used. They then put my hand into a fist and wrapped it up for two days just leaving my thumb and first finger exposed. During that time the enzyme does its magic by eating the nodules but my knuckles and the inside of my elbow joint went a dark purple and there was a deep ache throughout my arm and into my armpit which is quite normal apparently. The palm of my my hand was very sore and what felt like a bubbling sensation. After the two days they unwrapped my hand and stupidly I tried to open it to have a look and it went `pop` with a fierce pain. They then injected a local anaesthetic between my fingers and `manipulated` the hand straight which felt like popping bubble wrap. So, if you do decide to have it done, keep your hand in a fist, they wrap it up like that for a reason. They then made a moulded splint for my finger to keep it straight which i have been told to wear overnight. My palm is now very bruised, it feels tight but its a lot better than it was. Time will tell. I am also 50 but having both parents with Dupuytrens I have been told I have an aggressive form of the disease and it will now be an ongoing battle to control it. The doctors are trying to avoid surgery as they say I am too young but if this Xiapex treatment works even for a couple of years it will be less invasive and your hand is only out of action for about a week. I hope this helps regards JBREBEL
So sad......
It is very sad, tragic in fact. When i visited, a couple told me they come there to walk the dog most weekends, the said in english as the could not speak Welsh. so i said to them, you know the history of this place you walk your dog then? The reply was No. I should have known shouldnt I. They had no idea the devastation that occured here just so that L iverpool could have water. So Very Very sad indeed. Ignorance. ignorance thats all i can say. We Welsh people, have so much Beauty where we are born and raised, Thank goodness we dont have to venture far and wide to have so much beauty on our doorstep.

Great footage. I lived near it from 70s-80s and was shocked when I saw it in the 90s. Even more shocked now of course as there's only a bit of the western and eastern elevation intact and only at ground floor level. So rare to see any footage this old. Shame really, we lived in view of it, but only had a handful of photos which my mother lost. I have a few from 90s onwards but nothing really old. I can see in your footage that the eastern wall is intact and the northern side too, which was where the servant's quarters were. It was lived in until 1954 and reasonably intact by the late 70s despite 25 years of neglect. Between the 1980s and 1990s was when the main demise happened. There must have been a big collapse at some point, maybe during a storm.
Great info Rachel, many thanks for your contribution.

Thanks for sharing. I was there around the same time and remember, even though it was quite busy with people exploring, it was eerily quiet; just a strong breeze blowing. It was a hot summer and I will never forget being there; we hadn't had rain for so long and there was talk of a severe water shortage. The old bridge was still visible and strangely still had a stream of water running below it towards the remaining waters of the reservoir. I still have photos of the cemetery wall with freshly painted writing all over them, cursing the English for flooding the valley.
Unfortunately painted slogans don't make people listen
fake g shock
Does anyone seriously think that a few pounds and a council house can compensate a family for the land their families have lived on for generations. If there is one thing that burns in the soul of every welsh person it is the sense of their home and their land. Their family land continuation handed from generation to generation. Hard for outlanders to understand for this is hard land fought for with the lives of every generation that fought and held that in trust for the generation to come. This is what is destroyed not a few fields and houses but the hearts and souls of everyone of that community who had to loose their homes but watch the graves of their families torn up so even the dead were desicrated.
Very selfish perspective. These reservoirs give clean fresh drinking water to MILLIONS of people on a daily basis for years and years....and you're moaning about a few Welsh inbreds who lost a crappy cottage and back garden.
Always one little Englander spouting bollocks they didn't need the water for drinking the population had shrunk they wanted it to sell on to other areas for industry
Agree with every word, absolutely. As an Englishman, I'm deeply ashamed that we allowed this to happen in our name. The destruction of Capel Celyn was beyond wrong. The fact that the water was never actually needed only makes this atrocity even more insulting. People of Wales, I am so very sorry. We had no right to do this, and I wish with all my heart that we could undo it. You deserved better.
