      I'm not sure what you mean when you ask "How did I back it up?" You buy good quality new mirror don't use old.

      You can make any shape or size but this one is 12x76cm

      Everything including glue and tools is explained in the first video of this course, 1 of 19. If using mirror you can use silicone but don’t use silicone on a clear glass base.

      I didn’t test silicone. This is a glass on clear glass (GOG) or clear acrylic adhesive test, which country are you in?

      Not a problem, the silicone, which I only use on mirror and non-transparent bases, like fibreglass, bowling balls, I use Everbuild general purpose, but also Sudal make one that is recommended. I saw the other build in my online shop. But if you’re not sure run the same test using using silicones and see which one comes out best, or just test one silicone instead of having to buy several of them.

    I have heard that Gorilla Glue caused the substrate to break after a while-- not sure but we were warned about it. Of course there are many types of Gorilla glue now.

      It does need to be this particular one as they make so many different types. This adhesive, even dry retains flexibility so will allow the glass to expand and contract in heat and cold but, using anything like a superglue will cause the glass to crack. This I know from experience from when I first started 21 years ago. I used a superglue and the whole piece cracked right across over time.

      Hopefully, you can find this Clear glue but if not, you can use the test process to try out the adhesives you can buy in SA. Good luck.

      They are called Running Pliers and these blue plastic ones are made by Leponitt but other companies make similar ones in metal or plastic. I sell the plastic ones in my online shop, but otherwise you need to look for mosaic or stained glass material & tool suppliers

      You can use different borders. Gems/nuggets, strips of coloured glass, even mosaic tiles. You can also use thin strips of textured clear ( non coloured) glass which gives a similar but softer look.

    May I ask what you do with the flower mirror tiles you create after they are finished. I have like 50 little mirrors someone gave me that are like 7.5cm by 5cm. and I was thinking of doing your flower in each one, but then I don't know what I would do with them. I think your art is so very beautiful!! I hope I can create such beautiful pieces like yours.

      I used to make small tiles and put them into a box frame. You can sell them online or at fairs or give as gifts. I’m just starting a set of 12 in small frames with the flower that is associated with each month. January-Snowdrop, February -Crocus…and so on.
