Vector Components
This video shows how to find the components of a vector in the first quadrant. This is a handy skill to have in introductory physics classes like AP physics, high school physics, College Physics, or University Physics.
We start with a sample problem and work out how to sketch the vector and draw in the components. We then use a bit of trigonometry to write equations for the x and y components.
After the equations are ready, we enter the numbers into a calculator and solve for each of the components.

I dont see why so many people in the comments are freaking out about this.. if it were in class you'd be watched by the teacher or a camera anyway. How do you expect to keep academic honesty high and credit online degrees as being valid without this proctoring service? This is just the future of education and the digital world

Accidentally just took a test without turning honor lock on. I visited the landing page to try to see some additional info, and it kick started without honor lock being started. I did really well on the exam, better than most of the class, and I'm frankly freaking out that I'm going to be accused of cheating. I absolutely didn't. The test was open book, open note, and substantially based on the homework we already did. I have no clue how the other students didn't do well. Not sure what to do, but unless it alerts the prof. that I didn't have honorlock on, I'm thinking about just not mentioning it unless she does. I feel like even saying something invites suspicion.

What an absolute joke of a world this is becoming. Forcing students to download software that sells their data, from a parent company with a terrible track record of never fulfilling their promises. A company that doesn’t disclose their encryption methods, but oh they say they care so they must be right! If you don’t understand technology enough to realize you are absolutely overstepping a privacy boundary, then gtf off the computer and proctor your exams in person, like what the student has paid for. If you’re too lazy to create a learning environment where crap like this wouldn’t have to exist, then find a job you actually belong in. Crap software like this is an absolute violation of rights, and illegal in many parts of the world. Do you really think the outcry in the comments is for nothing? You think the STUDENTS are lazy? Throw them in a room with a pen and paper and they’ll study countless hours and their scores will be better. But proctor some crap like this, and you are sure to get an outcry, its not from laziness. Its because you are flat out wrong to force students to download privacy invasive software on THEIR personal devices that THEY paid hard money for. What a joke.

Let me start by saying that I no longer use Honorlock, for many of the reasons you state. The reason I started using it was two-fold. The first reason was that many schools that my students transfer to would not accept non-proctored exams. The second reason was flexibility. Many students are taking online classes because they can't be in the classroom. I have students with full-time jobs. I have students with small children. I have students with physical challenges. I have students from all over the world. It would be ridiculous for me to a) specify an exact time they need to take the exam b) make them come to campus, or c) be online for the 48 hour window in which I offer students to take my exams. I see that when you wrote this comment: 1) You were online. 2) You have a youtube/google account. 3) You didn't take the time to read my other comments related to this. I never said my students were lazy. Most of them have paid for the option to take my class online. I'd love to see them all in person. I could certainly stop teaching online. I think that the benefits of flexibility and availability far outweigh the challenges of teaching online. Do your homework before you gripe.

@@PhysicsThisWeek oh i completely understand. I’m sure you’re reasons are completely valid, and I am totally aware that there are many students who prefer and/or actually need to do a majority of course work online. My comment was mostly fueled out of an anger for own situation in which a teacher attempted to force students to use the software. And certainly not a comment that takes any other situations into account. A bit of a single-minded, angry, very hateful comment lol. I apologize. The situation in which a professor I had was trying to use the software was to me, completely unreasonable, and left me quite a bit angry, and i seemed to decide to take a lot of that anger out in a comment that ended up seeming awfully targeting towards you, so i once again apologize.

@@srgantmoomooo Thank you for your response. Obviously personal experience factors greatly into one's reaction. Many comments about this seem to be from folks who have no idea or experience on either side of the professor/student position. Generally a negative angle means that your vector points into the 4th quadrant. These are measures clockwise from the x axis. -60° would be equivalent to +300°.

People who read aloud and take bathroom breaks are screwed. Also, my former classmate has a medical condition T1D and she has to take breaks to inject her meds and the professor accused her of cheating because she took a bathroom break to inject insulin privately, mind you she has accomodations to do so. I recommend people to record themselves taking the test in the room. So, you can have evidence if a professor ever wants to make false accusations of cheating.

There is no reason I should be monitored like this, I’m not okay with someone having access to any of what I consider to be my personal privacy. At 1:51 I hear the lower tone start climbing.. At 1:53 I hear one combination tone as it slides down, but it seems to get kind of stuck at 2:01 where it breaks up into disconnected staticky beeps on the same tone, harder and harder to discern. Could that be a frequency beating between the two combination tones? (obviously not as clear as the besting that occurs between the main two)
