    Hello sir and thank you so much for this informative video, I am a second year college student graduating with my AS in information systems technology this year. Also will be getting a “IT client specialist technical certificate “ from my college when I graduate I know the very basics of IT and of course want to be confident in my skills about the basics. I am just not sure if I should achieve that understanding on my own time and skip out on working for the A+ cert seeing that my college is providing a similar certification, I want to go for a decent job after graduating and want to have a comptia cert or two to go with it. So im very conflicted on whether or not to go for A+ or Net + first. I just really dont want to waste my time as im still a full time student and work part time so its going to be a lot of work. Thank you

    Q4 frustrates me. It feels as if the two best answers are a toss-up because the correct answer is potentially more harmful but could take a very long time to deal with and the other answer is probably much quicker to remediate ( yes I'm trying to phrase this in a way to avoid giving out the answers :) )

    With a new OS you get all the new problems. Hacking is only a risk if someone malicious gets access or if you're dumb enough to connect the POS system to the internet. Upgrading to Windows 11 means new Software, maybe even new Hardware and new training plus the risk that something goes horribly wrong with the update. I don't even understand why someone would use Windoes for a POS in the first place, what you really want is something that's extremely long lived and only gets security updates.

    • @Dr_KKendrick

      Ah, the classic dilemma of "better the devil you know!" Sometimes, it feels like upgrading is just trading one set of headaches for another-like switching from a cat to a dog! It is important to remember, though, that not all malicious acts come from malicious actors.

    Can the authorities track you if you use public wifi to post a controvertial video? Like talking about politics or critisize some political body?

    • @Dr_KKendrick
      @Dr_KKendrick 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So any time you log onto a network your computer information is logged with your IP, and MAC address. So if you posted something and I was a communist dictator with personal an over inflated idea of my self worth I could go in and track the IP address down to the public Wi-Fi, then pull the logs, fingerprint your browser, identify the upload time and pull all the MAC address associated then go on scavenger hunt to track you down. I could also grab the meta data off your video or picture or video which could clue me into your location. It would take time and resources but it could be done with warrants. This is where someone says use a VPN and i laugh because if you used a VPN and posted something really dangerous. I could easily identify the VPN provider, get a warrant and now i have all your information. Or, honestly I could just install malware across devices in my country by law which allows me to track your device and identify you by pushing out a unique identifier in the meta data every time you posted which would probably be the easiest thing to do. Honestly though, unless you're a communist country freedom of speech is one of our most basic right sin the U.S. and unless you threaten and poise a national security risk... the government isn't going to waste their time on you.

    Would it be better to just get the Certs if you have a Master's in another field or would it be beneficial to go back to school and get a degree on top of the certs

      Every person is different, every location is different. That's not an easy answer, however, if you can find a hands-on program that provides the skills in the job field your looking for you can probably get by without another degree. but again it depends on your path and other considerations!

      Yes IMO. I’ve been in the field for 10 years and work with people who have business admin degrees and nursing degrees that do just fine by doing certs and projects to close the skills gap.
