It is hard to see us as "one nation under God" when my view of God is so different than those who elected Trump. My opinion about the holiness and inerrency of scripture, or at least how it is interpreted by many churches in America, is not the same as it used to be, and now not the same as theirs. It feels like we are two opposing nations under God. The hurt and pain for those who will be persecuted and oppressed is high right now. I'll revisit this message after I process these election results more.

This gent speaks with the slow, steady rhythm of someone who considers his words carefully (probably a vestige of his years as a law professor). While I have not studied world religions in depth, I have studied Christianity for most of my life. I have also listened to many dozens of NDE accounts on TH-cam and read a book about them within the past year. Everything Dr. Hodgson says about Christianity and NDE experiences jibes with what I have read or heard from these two disciplines. At first I was skeptical and thought he was trying to sound like some kind of mystical guru, but as I listened and as he made perfect sense in answering your questions with great detail and staying laser-focused on what you asked him, I realized that he is the real deal. He is consistent, clear, and very intelligent. What he has done, and I haven't been able to do, is to reconcile the NDE accounts with my knowledge of Christianity and the Bible. Where Hodgson scans religions and NDE's looking for commonalities, I tend to get hung up on the differences, such as the Christian concept of salvation as being saved from God's judgment and wrath, and the concept of Hell. These don't seem to agree with the vast majority of NDE's which state, as Dr. Hodgson said, that there is no judgment in the heavenly realm. So, to say that he finds agreement between all the major religions and the experience retold by NDE'ers is indeed a strong statement that I do not understand and am eager to explore in his books. Great interview Carol! It has been awhile since I read Peter Russell's book, From Science to God, and your podcast was a good reminder of the bigger picture in these dramatic and confusing times. I'm going to have to read it again. Nobody can put numbers to our consciousness. I have noticed that in these godless times, some people get very triggered about religion or even saying the word God. I don't think that they have thought about consciousness or from where it springs forth.

I am reading the book now... and it is the most important book I have come across in decades. I am buying copies for friends. I haven't eaten meat in decades but the book is so much more than dietary advice. After seeing an old documentary film called "MEAT" by a guy named Weisberg, I think, I was shocked that cows, pigs and chickens were treated in ways that can only be called Torture. I stopped eating unconsciously thereafter. W S Merwin, the late great American poet said: "If there is a difference between killing a cow and killing a person... I don't see it." And neither do I.

Knowing what we know now about child traffic and how the powerful are an active part of these atrocities, I feel conflicted with what some groups believe. There is one presidential candidate who has openly mocked disabled people, who insults, makes the most degrading comments about women, immigrants , who admires dictators and who was photographed with a well known pedophile : J. Epstein >not that the other party is any better< but my question is, how can I trust that he will be saving children from these elites?
