what if i is missing in the roots of lamda in elliptical form.
That's not possible, a negative discriminant means that the roots will always be complex ( imaginary / contain i). if it's elliptical it will always have i.

Hi, can you tell me why the direction ratios of the two lines obtained due to intersection of cone and plane are exactly the same? aren't they different lines? yes, both passes through (0,0,0), but if the two lines have the exact same direct ratios then wouldn't they become parallel? a reply would be appreciated!

I know this is late but still, here is the reason: because uss case mei both side of equation log of something mei the to equation ko e ki power mei raise karke log hataya ja sakta tha lekin yaha ek log wali term ke sath i multiply ho raha tha to agar dono side ko log of something mei likh kar log hatane ki koshish karte to answer mei e^i multiplication mei aa jata jisse question bewajah complex ho jati to simple rakhne ke liye humne log ko remove nahi kiya and hence sirf c rakha na ki logc
