I'm 74 years of age saturated from birth with top notch medical doctors (my father) , my own medical training and psychotherapy training prior to medical training. I strongly recommend ignoring Grant Smith, MD, completely. He is a hypocrite. I know this guy Grant Smith. MD. He is a self aggrandizing phony. I had a potentially lethal disease and secondary problems from treatment. I reached out to Stanford for a palliative care appointment. After Grant Smiths extensive hot air discussion video the appointment I had with him was a display of incompetence and flagrant disregard for the medical problems I faced. Physicians are taught during third year to actually ask the patient why they came in for care. Grant Smith did not spend one second inquiring about my situation. After all his blow hard long winded rambling about how to be a palliative doc he failed completely in every way. He is self promoting videos he goes on and on about how a patients life can be forshortened and degraded in quality without good palliative care. If I had been naive enough to listen to this drivel and had followed his "directive" my life would have gone off a cliff and I would have been quite completely unable at all. My quality of life would have cratered into a early end. Just like to says for someone going with no competent care at all.
