I'm addicted to watching these DNA results videos, especially black americans revealing their ones. I'm 38% African (largest being Nigerian at 14%) and 62% European (largest being Ireland at 48%. Though it used to say 54% Irish) . Adopted by a black family at birth and raised in Boston. Found my birth mother in South carolina and found my birth father in Ireland. He had no idea he had fathered a child in his 2 week visit to America when he was 18 (birth mother was also 18). Found him through ancestry as I matched with his son and daughter as a half sibling. I had assumed both my parents were black and that I was just on the paler side

I took an Ancestry DNA test. It was nice to see the estimates, but I try to remember that we can’t know how European gets in our DNA. Like it is said like it is 100% accurate that enslaved folks used their masters surnames when they got their freedom. It’s been proven that that is not the case all the time. Some used their occupation as their new last name, or someone they admired. DNA can show you how much of something is in the jeans but it can’t tell the stories of what went on in the lives. Doing family tree work is the best way we have to find out the stories. Made much more challenging because people who were enslaved don’t have paper trails in the usual places and we have to get creative with our searching. I enjoyed your reveal and I hope that you are able to find more information on your family.

I agree with you 100%. You did make a lot of sense. I've said a lot of the things you said when I've spoken about DPR Ian and DID in general. My mother had DID, and just like you, I've looked into the cause and reasons behind it for years. I went through hell my whole life because my mother's protector personality fronted most of the time and unfortunately, that personality hated me. She literally told me that she did. I was mentally and physically abused and bullied to no end by my own mother as a child and when I got old enough to get away from her, I did and I kept very limited association with her because she also presented narcissism. Whenever anyone would ask me why my mom treated me so bad, it was hard to explain what I thought was the reason. No one believed me when I told them that she had split personalities. DPR Ian helped me find answers to some things that I had always wondered about my mother. She just died a few weeks ago and literally, I discovered DPR Ian a few days later, so I'm a new fan of his, but I've been binge watching him ever since. What you said and what he says, brings me such clarity. Thanks for your reaction video. ❤

The way he's so sweet and affectionate with her during some of his lives, I can see why there are some people out there just barking and panting to be in her position. I'm with you - African American, born in the States (New York to be exact) and I know what every one of those tweets meant. Except for rizz... I've heard people say it but I still wasn't exactly sure what it meant. But still...he is a grown man, sexy and he has a huge fan base! I'm sure he sees those thirsty texts on his live feeds. Not to mention what women must say to him when he's out and about. I mean, I'm just saying...maybe I wouldn't say anything vulgar directly to him, if given the chance, but I would definitely say something within earshot of him. I’m 88% too but I am of Louisiana Creole decent. We are a distinct ethnic group and for the most part, are made up of African, French and native to some degree and we can be white, black or mixed-race like Hispanics. As a matter of fact we are technically Latin but because of history (Louisiana being sold) we are no longer considered Latin to most… Although Creoles around the world were part of the slave trade, the French slave trade had many differences compared to the primary slave trade led by the British, Dutch etc. One distinct difference is that the enslaved were treated better, had rights, worked and eventually gained the freedom early on and as a result, intermarried, had businesses and homes and lived life alongside the French as citizens of the territory for a very long time… My ancestors on my mother’s side, were brought to Martinique and Louisiana which are (Martinique) and were (Louisiana) French territories in the 1700s…All of my ancestors after the initial mixing were Mulatto/mixed Creoles that were free people… They married and procreated with other free creole people of color for over 200 years (multigenerationally mixed) before Louisiana was part of the US in the 1800s… My father is African with no admixture (no European blood). Although I descend from a line of mixed people on my moms side, my African dna percents are much higher because I have no European blood on my dads side and most of my ancestors on my mom side were mulatto and NOT white. The average AA (African American) is about 70-80% African and up to 25% European with NO native ancestry…Also, the average AA has straight/mono white anglo dna whereas I do not. The European dna I do have is Latin (French) and not Anglo like the most Americans and I have native ancestry unlike the average AA… I always knew that Louisiana Creoles were different in that we have a different culture, language and religion and that many of us have African French and native ancestry but it didn’t click until I got my dna results back and did more research that I learned that Creoles and AA are a totally different ethnic group. Our African and European ethnicities are different although some may overlap of course. Most African Americans have significant Nigerian roots and I, like most creoles do not OR have a small amount from mixing after the Louisiana Purchase when people and slaves from all over came and occupied the new state… My dna is comprised mostly of Malian and Congolese ( about 58%), with some French and native… I have NO Anglo European or Anglo African blood (ie Nigeria or any English speaking African or European countries )…Here is the breakdown: 30% Malian (significant in Creoles because France took the slaves from Mali and Senegal specifically whereas the Anglo European countries took from Nigeria and other African countries. To this day France has a large Malian and Senegalese population), 28% Congolese, 15% Benin Togo, some Senegal and Ivorian, 10% French and 2% Native…All of my ancestry, both African and European (with the exception of the native) are francophone (French speaking) countries… I know there are many people interested in ancestry and history which is why I was so detailed lol. You have a lot of dna from francophone countries and you have Malian and Senegalese dna so I wouldn’t doubt if you have some Creole ancestry IN FACT, that is where your Germanic ancestry likely comes from. Not many ppl will have France listed instead it is oftentimes hidden in the general Germanic group/region.
