Tangent time. When I was in grade 4 I was sweet on a girl who played this album on her Walkman every day. Eventually I had the courage to ask her about it. With time, we grew attached at the hip. She later passed away in grade 8 and I later became obsessed with James Mercer. Eventually following other artists like John Darnielle, Daniel Johnston, and Danger Mouse. It can all be traced to some stupid brat with an interest in a girl he could never have. Life sure can be complicated but at least we got some good tunes eh? Sorry for the ramble. I'll blame it on the booze.

One of my favourite albums of all time

He did the real and complex version with true band mates. Topped it off by telling DL he has been to the mt. Regardless of everything, still writing rad and quality lines and sounds. It takes a lot to produce and deliver. I know the cats got money to deliver badass style. But he's humble and does his own delivery of keeping it his. This is seriously one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard-can't get it out of my head for such a long time now. Such simple lyrics and so brief, yet amazingly crafted and orchestrated. It's so unfortunate that 99.99999999% of the world will never hear this band, let alone this song

I don't know how to feel about this. It sounds great, but at the same time this album was the best-ever example of Lo-Fi, imo (only Duster comes close).
