    The first Useless boxes I saw had a single timing, a single action. Now there are multiswitch designs or this which uses variable speed, multiple actions or pausing...to emulate personality. This is emulating the actions of what a real squid would do if you kept on poking it's home, not exactly but still emulating "I am annoyed! Stop bothering me!"

    Well I have the NAZA-M v2 and it did great back when I had some really cheap 20A esc's and 1000kv motors but now that I have upgraded to a heavy-lift conversion 30A SimonK esc's and 650kv motors it will not altitude hold for shit. I think that the GPS lock is ok but the SOB bounces up and down so bad that I am constantly in a fight with it. Also, even if I do get the damn thing to level out and stay-put the second I give it the slightest pitch or roll input the damn thing drops out of the sky and I have to give a ton of throttle to avoid a crash. Ususally after I get it back up to a safe altitude again it will sit there for a minute then start climbing all on its own. Anyone have any idea's on this? I dont think that electrical tape is going to help me on this one guys. :(

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I forgot to mention in my original post that I too changed my props from plastic to bigger carbon fiber 12x3.8 .. Although the props I have now do not flex at all they are much bigger than the stock props that I use to have. I think they were 10's or something? That is a good Idea to go back to my original prop size even though I am running much bigger motors now. My biggest problem in troubleshooting this is that I changed out too many things at once (bigger motors, bigger props, bigger esc's, bigger battery so I dont know which componant is causing the problems. Thanks for your help haha48 :)

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Ok man you are making sense to me and I thank you for your help. When you say " dial back the throttle and the gains " do you mean " Motor idle speed and attitude gain"? On the NAZA thats the closest thing that I have to what you are saying. My attitude gain is now set at stock setting (pitch 100%) & (roll 100%) . So you are saying to try to dial both atti-gains back to 90% & 90%? Sorry man I am just trying to be careful because I havent messed with my gains on this NAZA V2 very much and I dont want to screw up! lol .. Again man Thanks for taking the time to help me with this. :)

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Well wait! In my Advanced settings in "Assistant software" I also have "Verticle gain" and they are both set to 100% & 100% as well. Do you think this is the setting that I should dial back as apposed to the atti gains?

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Well sorry on that last question of mine ok because the Assistant software will not allow me to change the "verticle gain". When I change it to 90% and hit <enter> to save it just changes it back to 100% & 100.0% so I guess I cant adjust that one. Must be the Attitude gain?

    • @GeorgeBonez
      @GeorgeBonez 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** @WildAndLiving DUDE YOU ARE A GENIUS and thank you so much for your CORRECT ADVICE! I made a small attempt at adjusting my gains but I am pretty timid at this because I’ve never done this on a NAZA before. I didnt have much luck but that’s just my fault. I did however change my 12x3.8 carbon fiber props out and put on some old plastic 10x1.4 props and EUREKA! My quad with 650 KV motors is flying like a rock-star now. You were right tho about having a hard time getting off the ground and having almost no flight time at all and thats ok because you taught me how important prop-size is and even more importantly you taught me the “symptoms” of prop size problems. I would have never figured this out on my own. Today I tried two things with thes smaller props. 1. I used a 4.0 3S & a 2200 3S battery at the same time and the quad was too heavy with these little props to even lift off more than a few inches. 2. Then I got rid of the 2200 battery using only the 4.0 3s to lighten things up and I had an AWESOME 1 .5 minute flight. Altitude hold was good and GPS lock was GREAT! Even my vibration and wabble problems were gone. I know, I know I dont have the problem totally licked just yet but you put me on the right track my friend. I just have to become a little more brave to play around with my gains etc and I am still a little unclear on what you mean by "throttle speed"? I am assuming that you are talking about "motor idle speed" in the Assistant software but I am not quite sure. Thank you so much dude! I have been struggling with this for weeks and due to your advice I have made a little headway! :)

    This may or may not apply.. i believe the v2 is in a black case which would fix this.. the issue was cause by direct sunlight hitting the left side of the controllers case. This problem is fixed by covering the sides at top with black tape.. the barometer is apparently very light sensitive.

    It's odd, coz I have the same problem with my new DJI F550 and I have flown it only few days and it has always been very cloudy and it happend even in dark!

  • @danielnc06
    @danielnc06 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No...this is common with newer nazas....the have apparently changed the barometer sensor and it is more sensitive to direct light hitting the left side of the naza....try covering the naza in black tape and see if that fixes it....it worked on mine

  • @danielnc06
    @danielnc06 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Martin, i have mentioned this to DJI.. they knew of the issue but i think they are still making them in white plastic... i think a black casing would fix it.... the rcgroups forum helped me when troubleshooting this. Definitely check the forums out too! -danielnc06

  • @martinjm1
    @martinjm1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    AMAZING!!! Now it flights smothly and holds altitude perfectly!!! Such an easy and cheap solution. But this is a design problem dont you think Daniel. It shouldnt happen. Have you talked about this with DJI already? if not I think I will. I wonder how do you came up with the solution. It was very hard to see. Thanks a million times Daniel. Martin

  • @martinjm1
    @martinjm1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Same problem here! How odd. I had fly several times before. and no problem..... Now I realize it was always in winter. Where i live its nor really cold, but in winter its very cloudy. Now in summer... hmmmm.... I will try your solution: Covering the naza with black electrical tape. Thanks Daniel

  • @Str8UpVersatile
    @Str8UpVersatile 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's sweet! Does the escs get warm on 4S and did you figure out what happened?

  • @danielnc06
    @danielnc06 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    As it turns out..it was the sun hitting the left side of the naza. The barometer is one the left side and it is extremely light sensitive. In the video u can see that just before it drops it rises out of the houses shadow and the sun hits the left side. This causes it to drop and then once it recovers in the shadow it tries to recover to the original height which was in the sun again...and it cycles like this... i fixed this by covering the naza with black electrical tape to block the sun...

    @mingovideo It is a Gopro HD. it shoots 720P in 60fps or 1080P in 30fps. this video was natively recorded in 720P 60fps so that i could use the wide angle (170degree) mode. Then for the slow motion i just slowed it 50% to 30 fps....This video was uploaded from a final 30 fps render since i doubted that youtube supported 60 fps.
