Wow!
Badass.
Ok nobody really fights like that. But I know you are just showing fighting techniques.🤔
Yes indeed. These are teaching tools to learn basic techniques that can be used in a fight. If course, the techniques would have to be edited and improvised in an actual fight. These are concepts we explore further as a student continues their learning journey.
Kick the gun out of the hand from a static horse stance. Cognitive Dissonance. I wouldn't do five swords from a horse.
Good point! These are intermediate kenpos which are performed in a classical style. Classical stances help teach intermediate students stability, balance, and strength. As students move through the ranks, they will practice these techniques on partners, teaching them thrift experience a more tactical approach. This video only demonstrates the classical form. This technique is developed to defend against hand strikes and wouldn't be nearly as effective on a weapon. I recommend checking out our overhead clubs video to see one type of weapons defense. We will be uploading more soon!

Just so everyone understands, the "This is awful" was about the failure adjusting the camera, not Sensei Oscar!
Sensei Spencer is a literal ninja.
Great job!
Why is he making finger guns in a kata? 😂😂😂 this is black belt???
Jr. Black (hence the red stripe in the belt). You don't like Finger Guns?
Does this form have any historical basis at all? In Shotokan most of our kata trace back about a century or two.
Great Question. Our Style is Hawaiian and is a "mutt" or Mixed Martial Art originating from the 1950s post World War 2. Martial artists from Okinawa, the Shaolin Temple in China, Korea, and Thailand all trained together with American Boxing and formed what we today call Kenpo. The furthest back I was able to find on Swift Tigers directly was 1974, but there are references to forms with similar attributes I was able to find in the 60s. I'll look into it and let you know if I find something.
The parents on the side looking like, "why did we agree to come to this"

One ankle pick and this dude is done.
Yup.
ah, I see you noticed the ankle brace.
You know, you can't actually see the final strike in the video! What was it?
I can't tell. It looks like a front punch was thrown after that spinning backfist.
@@ianwilson1302 Well if YOU don't remember, being the one who threw it...
Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to become a 1st degree black belt at the Swift Tiger Dojo
Good question. First off, we're Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios, and Swift Tiger is a 1st Degree Form. This student has had the form for about 3 months, so not a long time. The average length of time for a 1st degree varies between students as we want to ensure they understand the pre-black material and can utilize it within tactical situations. The average is between 6-8 years, with some outliers in the 5 year mark.
Looks like standard McDojo stuff🤷🏻♂️
Looked like he was mimiing a rifle at the end
Pretty sweet right? We like to imagine a bow and arrow
wth is this bru
It's a Kata. That's a set of movement designed to focus on specific footwork and muscle training, but put into a context that applies to "if someone does this you can do____". Have you trained in Martial Arts? Would love to get you started!
Kata or free form?
This is one of our 1st Degree Black Belt Katas.
@@ZUltimateDenver that’s a kata? Um……..
@@dakarailayne3039 This form itself is a "kenpo" form. Kata has more Japanese association with it, but used as a blanket term for "forms" within our style.
WTF is this bullshido

Still surprised they didnt move the people away from the side of the ring in this division
