As per UGC guidelines, the first and second years you have to stay in double shared rooms. From third year onwards, you will get single rooms.

Most of the UG labs are still in Transit campus. Some of the PG and Research Labs are being shifted to the permanent campus, and all new instruments are being installed here at the permanent campus. It is expected that most of the working labs will be shifted by end of 2024.

When I had gone to the transit campus, I stayed outside in a PG. Now, the rules might have changed, or hostel accomodation might be available. You can talk to your faculty regarding this

Usually, except for a few days the weather is mostly good throughout the year. Sirf fan se kaam chal jata hai. I think to get cooler, you need to take permission from wardens. Nevertheless, you can use extra stand fans or table fans. Also, you can avail the library, computer labs, and study rooms, which have AC.

As far as I know, if you get atleast 80-90 out of 180, you can get IISER Berhampur. Although it depends on the number of candidates and the difficulty of paper, and may vary each year.
