It's a pity that Sorin is a creature. It would be a waste if he were randomly strengthened.
@@cantbecountered4946 that is definitely true, but when he is a Planeswalker you would be doing a lot of damage with all the life gain, and it could give the deck some extra removal as well.

Another great deck, thank you! I just went 8-2 with it, and one of those losses was to a Turn 2 Minion of the Might, so not much I could have done about that. I thought having 7 pain lands was a bit too much, and thought about not skipping using the rares for them, but they really do help for consistency in turning on the Essence Channeler. EDIT: Finished up my daily wins with this deck since it was so much fun. I ended up 15-4, which is very decent. I played a good variety of meta decks and did very well against them. 3 total losses against the Minion of the Mighty deck (dang, people are getting lucky opening hands). So, I'm kind of calling it more of 15-1 for that reason. I had a really fun interaction against Azorius flyers. They didn't expect me to use Cave of Koilos on their turn just to lose life and turn my Essence Channeler into a flying blocker heheh

The card is honestly horrendous. There are better reanimation targets than 7/7 flying hexproof. The only thing that make it look interesting is that it works with Unearth. I was interested in the card before I first looked at the spellbook, but the card is just not ever castable in game. It's hard to imagine a game where you're better off casting it to holding it in your hand doing nothing.

Unless I still have enough mana to cast a counter spell, I really don’t dare to cast it directly. But there should be other ways to play it, such as Collected Company or Jace Reawakened.

That's correct. It counters spells with mana value of 1. Ability says "pay W/B instead of paying it's mana cost", meaning it the mana cost stays the same
