God's Plan for Work, Rest, and Reflection | Dr. Goddard
The message this past week was form Galatians 3:6-9 where it says, "Just as Abraham 'believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness?' Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, 'In you shall all the nations be blessed." So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith." Q: What was the significance of Paul using Abraham as the example? A: The significance is that Judaizers considered Abraham as the father of their faith. John 8:33 puts this into perspective when Jesus and the Pharisees are speaking... ""We are descendants of Abraham," they answered him, "and we have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say, 'You will become free'? " (John 8:33, ESV) By being Abraham's descendants, they did not see the ramifications of sin in their own life. Read Genesis 15:6 together Q: Between Genesis 15:6 & chapter 17, does anyone remember the time between these two chapters? A. 10 years Q: What happened that was significant in Genesis 17 that would pertain to the Galatian church? A: Circumcision; This is what was believed to be a work of salvation. Q: If Circumcision happened in Genesis 17 and the Mosaic Law didn't happen for another 430 years, How was Abraham "saved"? A: He Believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness Q: What does it mean when it says, "8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify[a] the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham," (Galatians 3:8) A: Through Christ's death, burial & resurrection, salvation is a free gift that is offered to Jew & Gentile. This was foretold all the way back in Genesis. Q: While the blessing that is being spoken of in Galatians 3:9 is the spirit and justification, what other blessings do we gain by being in a right relationship with God? A: Peace, Patience, Love, Kindness, Gentleness, meekness, boldness, purpose, identity, a foundation, joy. a goal.
Remember when Collin was a young kid with a dream while a student here at Stafford. So proud of the man, husband, father and disciple you have become!
Praying with and for you as you continue living out the love of Christ through your marriage. Love you, Dollie
From Dr. Pankratz: "Hi all! Thanks for watching. Just a clarification ... At one point in the sermon, it might have come across as though I (Seth) were making fun or making light of a certain gift of the Spirit. I was only referring to the abuse that often happens when this gift is "manufactured" and misused in the public worship and prayer of the church. I'm sorry if I communicated otherwise. Public worship and prayer must always be edifying. Thank you for your continued prayers for me as I lead others in this task! Blessings to you all!"
Questions for Discussion (James 1:22-27) - Read James 1:21-27 - Why is it easier to listen to God’s Word than to do what it says? - What point is James trying to make through his mirror illustration? - How can you avoid forgetting what God’s Word tells you about yourself and what you should do? - What practical steps do you take in order to form new habits, removing bad habits, or adding some other positive behavior to your life? - What is one thing you can do this week to be a better “doer” of the Word? - What promise is made to those who remember and do what they have heard (v. 25)? How have you experienced this? - What are the differences between a worthless religion and a pure religion? - What does it mean to “keep oneself unstained from the world” (v. 27)? How does one actually do this? - What are some practical ways you (or your group) can help the fatherless, husbandless, or other needy people in their affliction?
I’d like to know if pastor A has forgiven Tyler Baker yet?
Back in 1972, while in college and toward the of the Vietnam War and the great civil rights movement I had a professor that said the next great civil unrest would not be tween racial or national groups but between the Haves and the Have Nots.
I was just speaking to someone about that and letting them know the new year is March April and not January 1st So someone else step into this particular person and said it is September October Wow that's why we have to pray for people as the most high wink at their ignorance AMEIN 💯 SHALOM SHALOM

I enjoyed the sermon as I learned about the healing power of forgiveness. I am hiking on the Appalachian Trail and stayed in Rutland, VT. I like to listen to a local pastor as I travel through a community. Thank you for this ministry. God bless as you proclaim the Gospel of Jesus. Stand firm!
This sermon was a blessing to me this afternoon - thank you for posting!
