Decided to go take a nice winter walk at Bob Hunter Memorial Park and experiment with my Sony #A6600 with my 16mm prime lenses from Sigma. All on a DJI RSC2 Gimbal. I'm still practicing and learning the kinks of the gimbal but so far I'm impressed!

Just a video I shot with my Sony A6600. I used a Sigma 1.4 16mm lens. Some clips were recorded with GoPro but most of the clips you see are from the Sony with a bit of editing. Enjoy

So, there I was, minding my own business when BAM! I heard this buzzing sound, I looked at the pole and saw mini explosions occurring on the pole. Toronto Hydro was there but it was still happening, and then well, there was a big cracking sound as you see in the video. Quite terrifying to be standing at the bus stop. Note: this happened on the south side of Sheppard as well, in front of the piz...

    Just imagine how the tax payers $ is being wasted. The Fire Engine just waits there with about 4 people sitting inside for as long as it takes for the damn Toronto hydro technicians to arrive and fix it immediately or cut the power so its safe to fix. . If only the fire fighters know how to tun off/cut power supply "appropriately" it makes sense for them to arrive early. At least they are not there to wait for something to go wrong, and instead stop it before it happens.

    It is visible now. All it needed was one thumbs up from me. lol. Anyway, I can easily tell by the terminology you used you have googled your knowledge as those are the first things I came across as I googled just now. Neither of us are smart enough to talk about advanced techniques used to mitigate fire (other than googling), but I still stand by my argument that in cases of power related emergencies including risk of fire they should have the hydro people there just as fast as the fire dept.

    Ok but Fire Extinguishers come in dry chemical or dry powder so if its "windy" the firefighters will use the dry chemical one. I am pretty sure firefighters know how to tackle a power line if it explodes in flames. So you think getting paid more equals faster service? Judging by what we see in the video, that isnt the case is it? Hence I stand by my previous statement in the previous comment. Also, seems your previous comment isnt visible due to to many negative votes lol.

    Good thinking. I wonder how well the powder will fly in the air on a windy day and not sure what happens on a rainy day. My point being that Toronto hydro should have an emergency response team so they can look into such issues. You are calling the Toronto hydro lazy assess but they are paid more than the fire dept in most cases. So i think they should have the capability to control these things and arrive before the fire dept.

    TFD comes first to almost everything..they are big and when you see their flashing lights and powerful siren, you're definitely going to get out of the way..you have to make way for them..theyre huge trucks lol

    They were already there and this was happening while they were there...I don't think they were anticipating this cause they were in the left turn lane in front of me and they saw this so they pulled over

    When the hell did I say I expected the cops to come first. Your imagination is bizarre. I just thought Toronto Hydro has some "emergency" resources that are capable to come earlier than the fire dept and disconnect the line. Having the fire dept there is good in case something catches a fire as long as they don't pour water on to the wire itself. FYI - Directing a stream of water directly towards faulty electric wire is the worst thing a fire personnel can do. Water conducts electricity.

  • @marvadi
    @marvadi 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well duh...obviously the fire dept will come first...who the hell you expect, the police?...what are they going to do put out the fire, if it came, with their guns?

  • @RK99
    @RK99 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lol... Didn't think the fire dept would come first. I guess they are there just as a precaution and will be sitting there until the Toronto hydro fixes it?

  • @RK99

    That's Crazy. Would probably be worse if it was raining. Did you report it to Toronto hydro? (you can call 311 and let them know too)
