To open the door....I got it open from the top, roll your window down and with a flat head screwdriver or small pry bar, gently, open the top enough to fit your hand and locate the bottom cable of the part this guy is replacing, you'll feel both cables just grab the bottom cable and pull it back towards the lock, or rear end of the car,....that will open it

I can't reach the last 10mm bolt in the 90° side of the black plastic drain pan. The frame is blocking all my tools. What did you use to get all the 10mm botls out?

Same symptoms as you. Same fix. But read my other comment on different approach.

Got a Chinese rip off part from Amazon for 300 instead of 1.5k from dealership!!!plus dealer said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to come in. My amazon order showed up in a week. I didn't even remove any battery or anything. Just reach back there with a small sharp tool, light off the white handle of the wiring harness out of locked position. Then release it. Bam plug in the new one and attach it with zip ties to the brake line area in the back for air flow. If you get the same rip off piece, I warn you it doesn't go into 5th gear, but that hasn't really effected me at all, fuel economy has been normal. Rpm stay below 3 at 120 km/hrs. It will also be buggy switching from at to Mt back to at. But it also doesn't matter.

Find and clean all ground wires and add 2nd ground from negative post to engine block! This fix works!! Period!! I took 2009 Journey to 3 diff dealers and each one of them tried to solve issue with obviously no luck. By the way, any real mechanic wth at least a decade under his/her belt will tell you...dealers have nothing but green wrenches...typically. Gotta get a start somewhere I guess.

Hey guys before you go out a buy a TCM...make sure you check the fuse for the TCM frist ...I was getting all the codes reading the At light the jerking shifting..it was my fuse was blown

idk if this will help anyone but I took a screwdriver and rammed it into the bottom half of the plastic lock and it broke a bit off then I slammed my screwdriver into the lock to put the metal thing back into place and it worked for me lol

Caused by overfilling your fuel tank. Gas runs down the hose that's meant for gas FUMES only. Once gas gets into the vapor purge valve the valve is usually stuck in the open position and fumes from a gas tank refill flow into the engine causing a hard ignition start.

your dodge try to start or just turn the lights on the dash ?

My battery light came on once. I then shut off the engine and started it up again and the battery light was gone.

Have same problem, i change that part, and still problem there, fuel pump, sending unit, fuel filter, and injectors, OEM replaced, problem still there.
