ContentID is absolutely god awful, and needs to be fixed. For creators that utilize royalty-free audio sample libraries like Splice, ContentID is a nightmare system that prioritizes fraudulent claims and malicious actors.
In this video, I discuss the current issue with using royalty-free sounds in original creative works, the lengthy, tedious process to resolve these issues, and two possible solutions for TH-cam to implement to prevent this issue moving into the future.
This might seem complicated to someone who has never dealt in this realm, but it's really pretty straightforward:
𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗜𝗗.
TH-cam should not organize music with ContentID, it should have a completely different system to categorize music on the platform. In its current state, TH-cam only categorizes your song if it's available in ContentID, which is why you have so many people misusing it in the first place.

The songs in this video by (Artist Name) are original works, created entirely using royalty-free samples from the audio sample provider, Splice.
(Your Name) holds all the necessary licenses for the samples used, as each (Artist Name) song is 100% composed of samples downloaded via Splice.
Splice is a royalty-free sample library that users pay a monthly subscription fee to use. Through paying a monthly subscription fee, users are granted a commercial license for each audio sample they download.
Audio samples available on Splice are non-exclusive, meaning all users have access to the same samples, and all users can utilize the same samples in their creative works. Direct quote from Splice Licensing FAQ: "You don’t own the exclusive rights to those samples. Other Splice Sounds users can use the same sounds without infringing on your New Recording or Creative Work and vice versa."
