This one was harder than we expected! I was looking for a nice easy, cool race on the coast to help prepare for Backcountry Rise. Though cool, it was very humid. Lots of climbing and steep descents in this one. Terrain was difficult in places. Rich was fast as always, and I came in 20 minutes ahead of schedule. Melissa and Scarlett enjoyed looking at the flowers while we were out. #trailrunning...
Volcanic50, Mt St Helens circumnavigation

On August 3, 2019 I ran the Volcanic50, a 50 km circumnavigation of Mt St Helens. This is the race from my point of view (aka from the back of the field). Tough race.

Melissa and I went to Cancun in July. I edited video on my phone because the computer is broke. :(

It's crazy how much longer trail ultras take compared to road races. The elevation gain and trail conditions really change your pace! Well done completing the race! I just subscribed to your channel too. I'll be recording a video for my 50k in September ('Devil on the Divide' in Colorado).

How you find the weather I’m looking to go October this year
It was nice! It was a little cool and windy at times, so I would bring a light jacket. It was a lot of fun; hope you have a good time.
