I remember sitting at my desk when i suddenly had the relevation and instantly understood what a cosine is. It was the most important moment in my working life. It was so indescribably beutiful, so simple and so elegant. I just sat there in disbelief that I finally understood what a cosine is. The next morning I tried to understand what a cosine is again and I totally understood what a cosine is. I had to phone my wife and tell her all about the cosine. I've been a math user on and off for over 8 years now. Math just kind of came into my life through a loved one and we used it to connect. I wouldn't say I have a healthy relationship with math but like, who does? It's math. Every now and then I think about math but it's not like it controls how I live my life. A little bit of math and every now and then never hurt anyone.
